The light of evolution was blinding for a moment and when it faded and a ragged white cloth wrapped around Jinx's leg slowing her fall sharply. The whiplash alone was enough to make her groan and Noir let out a startled noise.

"Sorrysorrysorry!"

Jinx moaned hanging upside down watching the shards of glass fall to the earth below.

"Am I dead? Is this dying?" She muttered feeling decidedly weak.

"Not yet...come on let's get you to a hospital." He dragged her up into his arms so he could hold her more comfortably.

"No...no." She waved a hand as if to shoo away the notion of help. "You've evolved...let's...let's have some fun."

It was stupid, but Noir had to admit he wanted revenge.
