When Tailmon jumps behind her, Kyubimon uses her own speed to maneuver straight out of the way of the bigger digimon. Her orders were to pepper the area with fire, and pepper she did with hot Foxy Taily infernos salting the earth like it was some sort of steak. If it was concerned with Tailmon, after all, there wasn't any reason to dissuade it.
