"Dante liked strawberries. So did Bro. He always said he liked how I smelled. Now he's gone. So is dante. He hates me. And Squall. And everyone else. It doesn't matter though, you know. none of this is real," the girl snorts, cupping water in her hands to rub at her face.
"No one here is real, none of the relationship are real. Nothing we do here matters. Eventually we'll go home and we'll forget everything. All of the friendships, all of the love and happiness. Back to boring lives and misery. Unsung heroes with nothing to hold onto. There's no point in saving anything. No point in fighting or winning. I'll go home and back to everything bad. You know...some people are going home, and they'll just be dead," she muses in a dull tone, eyes sliding sidelong to focus wearily on Miwako.
"Vergil is dead in Dante's time. Dante gets to go back to a dead brother. Vergil gets to go back dead. That's what we're fighting for. Just nightmares. We're not making anything better, and there's nothing worth saving."
In the main room of the apartment, Musashi tried focusing on cleaning, dragging the wastebin out of the room to empty, returning moments later to shake his head in frustration.
"Its just how we idolize you. We can't really help it. You're like the answer to the problem, the last line of code in the program, the solution to the equation. Even now, damaged as so many of you are, we still need you. Something will come up. we'll find a way to fix it or find out who caused it. Either way, regardless, I am grateful for all of you. You may not be my Chosen, but you have my gratitude for being here, and for being here. The Digital World would be lost if not for all of you. Without you, we are only half-formed ideas and ineffectual suggestions."
