Hit by the A-Train, crashed in an airplane

Who: Deputymon and the Chosen of Terminal Tokyo
What: City Clean Up!
When: December 8-14
Where: The damaged parts of the city

It was just as Koushirou said: a good chunk of Terminal Tokyo was severely damaged. No matter how hard the Digimon of the city tried to put it together, they just weren't strong enough to clear away some of the more heavier pieces of debris. Deputymon, who had decided to lead the efforts to clean up the city was in dire need of help, and hoped that Koushirou's message (and offer of compensation) had reached the Chosen. A week should be plenty of time to clean up, especially since so many could become very strong Digimon indeed.

[[OOC: As stated, the Chosen will only be responsible with the clean up efforts for the week. For every day your characters help out, they will receive 500 BITS. You may talk with Deputymon himself, or you may mingle with other Chosen. It's free game if you wish to plot with others or just tag around.]]

If the group listened closely, they might've heard a little gasp. If they turned around, they'd see the source-- namely, the Replica's Kotemon, who's got both of her sleeves over where her mouth might be.

"Did you see that? That was so cool!"

"He's another Kotemon, right?" The Replica crossed his arms, smirking at the gang. "Couldn't you pull off the same stunts?"

"Well, um... maybe. But he made it look so easy, and--"

With a snort, the Replica nudged his partner closer to Kaldur and the others.

"Guess we'll be chipping in after all."

The gasp did indeed alert Kaldur to their presence. He looked up from his pile of rocks as a small smile touched the corners of his lips. It was good to see his new friend out here. Scipio and Sedna looked up as well, both of his partners had different reactions. Sedna snorted, as if unimpressed and Scipio only looked blankly at his fellow Kotemon.

"Oh please, it wasn't THAT impressive. I could bust up a bolder that size too."

Scipio tilted his head to the side, "You are welcome to chop the next one. I only aim to practice my sword skills to better serve my partner." He waves his sleeved arm towards some of the other VERY large chunks of building rubble.

Kaldur shakes his head as his partners. Sedna still seemed intent on egging Scipio on and certainly hadn't adjusted to having to share Kaldur's attention...although he felt that slowly she was getting used to Scipio's presence. "I do not mind that at all. There is still plenty to do."

When Scipio spoke so calmly, Kotemon let out another quiet gasp. So dedicated to his training! Maybe she needed to be more dedicated, too, especially if she wanted to impress her partner. Nodding, she marched over to the pile of debris and withdrew her sword. After taking a deep breath, she bashed her flame-coated weapon into the debris.

The Replica snorted and crossed his arms. "Okay, I'll admit it. That wasn't too shabby, not that it's gonna change my mind."

"But it's still too--" She paused, looking from Scipio to Kaldur and Sedna. "Is it normal for partners to want to do all the fighting themselves? He keeps saying that he's going to handle everything..."

"Because I'm not a wimp." To prove this point, he waltzed over to some of the broken stone and started scooping it up in his arms. "Anyway, you guys need me to drop those over with the rest of the rocks?" Hopefully staying focused on the work would avoid any unnecessary scolding. He'd already heard enough from others equally determined to keep his recklessness in line.

Kaldur's initial assessment that the boy was like his friend Roy was proving to be more and more accurate. Roy had refused help most of the time as well, and while in hind-sight that could have very well have been due to the mole-programming he had been under, it was how Kaldur had gotten to know Roy. He glanced at the female Kotemon and gave a nod, "It often depends on the partner, but yes. Some of us are very accustomed to fighting our own battles with our own power. It can be quite difficult to give up that autonomy to a creature we have just met."

Sedna nodded. "If the humans had any special abilities or powers before they got here, the digital world seems to mess with them somehow. Kaldur still insisted on getting involved in the fights...it wasn't really til we had to fight some Champion levels and higher that he started to realize it wasn't going to work out as well for him if he didn't use me."

"Just give him time. Some people are harder to win over than others and there are some that are never going to admit that they are impressed," Kaldur finished, a fond look on his face as he once again recalled his friend. He hoped that it wouldn't come to putting the boy's life at risk. Unfortunately, that was how it had played out for Roy. Kaldur was just glad his friend hadn't gotten himself killed in the process and could only hope the boy would wind up with the same luck.

With that said, Kaldur and Scipio both gather up rocks from their own section and Kaldur nods to Riku, "We have been collecting them in this wheel barrow to roll out later. I imagine we might be able to recycle some of the building material at some point, but we need to get it cleared out first."

So Kaldur knew where he was coming from. A slight smirk wormed across his lips at the thought. So much for him being crazy and reckless, then. Why did people get so up in arms over his desire to fight in the first place? He could take it. All he had to do was--

...Wait, his little fuzzy lizard just said he had to rethink things. At that moment, the Replica's smirk wavered, and he gave a low groan. Were the odds really that slim? And what was the big deal about "Champion" levels, anyway?

Well, before speaking up, he turned to the wheel barrow and tossed in his load. Might as well free up his arms before doing anything else.

"Having a partner is one thing, but do we really have to let them do all the fighting? From what I've heard, we're basically just glorified batteries for them, and I just can't get behind that."

Kotemon slumped at his words, and she kicked a tiny pebble. How was she supposed to reassure him when he kept refusing all this time? It figured that she'd get stuck with a stubborn partner...

Scipio wasn't too interested in the conversation. He could very well understand that desire for self-improvement and wanting to fight one's own battles. So, he let them have their conversation and continued to work on his own sword play to bust up rocks.

"I think you merely have to learn to pick your battles. If you rely on brute force, it may not be as effective as it once was. There are other ways of combat...besides, they are called our partners for a reason," Kaldur explained. He knew in the end that the replica was going to have to learn this on his own. But, perhaps by at least having this conversation it would speed up the process.

Kaldur scooped up some more rubble and dropped in into the nearby container.

"That's funny, because everyone else seems to act like we can't have any hand in it. That it's all about them and not us." As if to punctuate his words, he let one chunk of rubble THUNK into the container before dusting off his gloves.

Kotemon, hearing those words, let out a soft whine. This wasn't working at all! And, seeing how they had to work together, then maybe she just needed to brute force it...

So, in a desperate attempt to earn praise, she rushed at a larger chunk of rubble, not to attack, but to try and lift up all by herself.

Kaldur hesitated, especially after hearing the whine from Kotemon. He knew that it often was more the partner doing the work, but he also knew that the boy would only learn that on his own time. "Like I said before, it's about balance. You should still learn about your partner and work with them," Kaldur gestured at Sedna as she spiraled through another piece of large debris. "I would not be here without Sedna's help. But, I have helped her too."

His attention shifted to Kotemon again who was trying to lift up a chunk of rubble. "She's trying to show you that."
