Kaldur was not naive to simply trust Koushirou at his word, especially since he had not had a chance to meet him yet. However, there was very little conflicting information and absolutely no information that Kaldur had access to on his own just yet. He HAD to go with Koushirou's word or else have nothing to go on at all.

"That being the case it only makes sense that instead of complaining or bemoaning our current predicament we instead focus on working together to correct it. All of us wish to return home and with a common goal perhaps we can all be motivated to work together." Probably a lot more than needed to be said, but he didn't think Orine was naive at all. Granted he might be over estimating her take on things, but he certainly couldn't fault it.
