play, play, play! (april 2013-- game start!)

Characters: EVERYONE!
When: 4 March 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!

The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

He had managed to ditch Gabumon for the time being. Well... ditch sounds like a strong word. He had left him to rest, since the big guy was getting tired, and he obviously knew his way around the city better than Tim ever could. He felt guilty for it, sure, and even the sensation of not having one of his hands compromised was starting to feel weird, but Tim tells himself he'll be back to meet with his buddy later.

A breath of fresh air and some quicker, more sly exploration is what he needs to do. That's how he came to the Statue of Liberty and-- wow, talk about disconcerting. Should the talk about the gates slipping between the Real world and Digital world prove true, that is. Otherwise, well-- Robin had to admire the accuracy in the rendering of the program file that must have created this thing.

He turns only when he hears a scream-- it sounds dangerously distressed and puts him on alert. It's a half second later when he pin points where it's coming from, and he's expecting a violent scene not a--

not a theatrical reenactment.

Not a. Uh.

That's not.... right. There's so much not right about what he's seeing right now.

He's silent approaching. It's a habit. He doesn't bother to hide a quizzical expression, almost mirroring Elecmon but for a totally different reason. "Wally?"

Because if you know someone's name, say it.

Jesus, Tim, way to startle a dude. You know, he should be used to being snuck up on by Robins, but when you're ~in the zone~ you're not really thinking about the possibility of tiny bat ninjas sneaking up on you.

He visibly jumps a little, but he's almost more startled by the fact that Robin looks... different. Too much green. Like, wow, that's a lot of green. He's pretty sure Rob doesn't even like the color green. But who knows, there's a lot about the dude he doesn't know. Which is more than anyone else, but still. Rob's secrets have secrets and maybe this is an old costume or something. The hair is the main thing that's bugging him. Way too short.

He clears his throat and awkwardly pushes himself up to a standing position, dusting off his costume as he stands.

"Uh." Yeah, you don't sound like Jesse McCartney, Tim, who are you. "Who are you, exactly? Did you escape from a comic book convention or something? What's with... all the green?"

The zone shouldn't be Blockbuster Movie Rental Night. Just saying.

And Tim's not exactly sure what he was expecting-- obviously he wasn't the Flash yet, obviously he was too young. "I guess you wouldn't recognize me, huh?" He says, because what did he think he was going to gain from this, again? "You're too young." Which meant that Robin was. Well.

Hey, he does feel a little proud of making him jump, at least. Even if it was just a little. He doesn't like the jabs, but what can you do. It comes standard with the costume, and at least he has pants. Tim stands a little straighter, a little taller. He can be cool about this.

"I'm Robin."

Hey. Wally don't need no Blockbuster Movie Rental. He's got that shit on Bluray. Why else do you think he's got the ending memorized to the point of reenactment.

He raises an eyebrow at Tim's introduction, shifts his weight, and crosses his arms. Mr. Drake, you convince him not. "Yeah, I can tell you're Robin. But you don't really expect me to believe you're the Robin, right? He's my best friend, dude, and you are not my best friend."

Because clearly there can only be one Robin. If only he were from season two, where there are three, that'd show him.

Here's the point where that long suffering sigh comes, and Tim finds himself deflating a little despite himself. Gee, you think he'd have figured it out by now. They've lived weirder, right? But of course being thrust into the future would probably be more daunting than seeing someone from the past.

Tim tries again, patient as ever. "Yes, I'm the Robin. As in Batman and." Kind of embarrassing how many times he's had to have this conversation. He wonders if Jason ever had to explain this. "I know I'm not the one you were expecting, because that's--"

Okay, no. Not saying Dick's name. Backtracking.

Unknown to him, Gabumon's ambling over. Looks like he was found before he wanted to be. Gabumon, of course, just raises a hand to wave.

"Look. I know your name. If I'm not really Robin, how else would you explain that?"

Wally rolls his eyes. It's not really the alternate universe thing he's having trouble with, it's the fact that, no, this is not Dick Grayson. And, as far as he's concerned, there can't ever be any other Robin, unless this is some kid that took over for Dick later. He did say Wally looked too young, so if he's from the future maybe he'll buy the actually being Robin thing. Maybe. He'll have to think about it.

"I don't know, you could just be a stalker who likes to dress up like Robin. I'd be flattered if that weren't just a little creepy."

Elecmon checked out of this conversation a few minutes ago, so he perks up when he sees Gabumon in the distance and waves back enthusiastically.

When Wally rolls his eyes, Tim feels a prickling urge to cross his arms. He almost does, too, but then it hits him that the point of this was to not come off as just some kid. And then he's thankful for having learned a poker face, because well--

that's not how his history went down at all. (Except it is.)

His life is hard. "Well, you can think what you want but I'm saying the truth." This wasn't going as planned, at all.

Gabumon all but butts his head against Tim's back when he finally is close enough. It seems like he thinks better of it last minute before that horn did any damage, and Tim finds himself skipping forward a step to avoid a disaster. Again. "Hello."
