What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!

The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

My major problem is how we got here and who's responsible.

[She sighs.]

I need to know who to interrogate.

Youuu could always try the kid that wrote the mail, or one of the others he mentioned. [A shrug of his thin shoulders.] Just a thought.

[Oh, don't you give her that face. Her voice drops low and dangerous.]

Are you implying I should threaten children?

[crampinmyback]

[He edges back a bit, holding his hands up slightly.] Whoa whoa, eaaasy there! I said no-oh-ho such thing! You said "interrogate", I think asking someone that already sounds like they know something of what's going on is a good idea...

That's all I meant!

[She glares at him for a long moment before letting her expression fall into something less dangerous.]

Trust me. When you're dealing with soldiers? Interrogate doesn't mean 'friendly chat'.

Ahh, see. There's the problem. I didn't know you were a soldier.

It isn't obvious from the fatigues?

[crampinmyback]

I don't run across many soldiers.

[She squints at him for a moment, then sighs.]

Commander Shepard, Alliance Navy.

[crampinmyback]

Well I uh. [He looks unsure of what to do with his hands for a moment, then mentally shrugs and attempts something of a salute gesture.] Good to- formally meet you. I suppose.

I'm the Once-ler.

[She actually cracks a hint of a smile at the awkward attempt at a military standard greeting.]

Is that your title or your name?

It's my- My name. What of it?

[She snorts a little half-laugh.]

That would be like me introducing myself as "the Jane".

Well it's a thing where I come from. Okay?

[Normally he wouldn't care, but being laughed at has him incensed.]

[She shrugs.]

I've heard of weirder customs. Same thing with the... hat?

[crampinmyback]

What about the hat? It's part of the suit.

I haven't seen anyone wear those outside of old movies.
