"Snowballs!"

It falls like rain from the sky, snowballs as thick around as base balls and some even bigger then water melons. Exploding all around as Chosen and Digimon alike are pelted and pummeled by a rampaging Frigimon with a black gear sticking out of it's back.

Her beady black eyes are scanning the horizon looking for any foolish enough to challenge her, or slow enough to be caught. Charging one such victim she draws back her fist for another attack.

"Sub Zero Ice Punch!"

The victim in question vanishes in a swirl of snow and when the snow is gone they have been frozen solid. They didn't even have a chance to scream.

Of all the Digimon to get attacked by, Monzaemon is not the worst.

He's strong of course, throwing an oversized toy car to try and block your escape, but if you should fail to defeat him or escape his signature attack won't kill you...
...it'll just brainwash you into a nearly brainless state of euphoria. You may or may not be trapped in a heart shaped bubble. But as far as rampaging Digimon go you could be threatened by worse?

Unless you're really not in favor of brainwashing anyway. Oh look, here he comes now crossing his arms and throwing them out to his sides.

"Hearts Attack!"

Pink bubbles explode from his belly flying at the chosen and digimon before him! Fight or flight? It's your call.

On a good day, Unimon is a very wise and calm Digimon. He may be old and closed up, but he isn;t one to attack any innocents...

...except for when he's got a Black Gear embedded in him. In that case, your most likely a dead man... Digimon... whatever you are. The worst part of it? It isn't him attacking you on the ground that you necessarily have to worry about...

"Aerial Attack!"

Yep, you'll suddenly see a bright blast come right from above. Will you dudge it? Will you get hit? Will you notice the giant winged-unicorn above you? It's all up to you Chosen.

You may look at Mihirashi Mountain and think it looks like a peaceful and scenic spot. Of course, that would be before you notice that it is also on fire and that one of those giant flames seems to be coming right towards you. That, my friend, would be the guardian of the mountain known as Meramon

You are not the only one in its path though. Nestled right below the mountain is a sweet little Yokomon village. Their houses look quite flammable and the tiny pink digimon are no match for such a strong fire-starter. To top this horrific scene off, Meramon seems to be screaming loudly, although whether it's from rage or pain is hard to distinguish since, well, he IS on fire.

And now he's shooting fire towards you, "Magma Blast!"

It had been good advice, the warning that digimon all over the place were going insane and attacking, and thus traveling alone was a bad idea, but Terra hadn't bothered to wait to see if anyone would come with him beyond his own Digimon.

And then it snowballed. Literally.

Luck or fate means that he and his two partners find refuge under a tree before being noticed, which allows them at least some time to observe what's going on with the Stay Puf't Marshmallow Bear and her frosty wrath. Not long, but long enough to make Terra wish he still had access to what little fire magic he'd had before. But they'll make do with what they have ... two rookie digimon and a trained warrior who's useless against the enemies of this world.

Fan. Tastic.

Well, they can try. Carefully, as low to the ground as he can get amidst the piles of snow and snowballs and frozen victims, Dorumon creeps forward, attempting to shake snow onto himself enough to make it hard to tell he's even there. Terra stays put - for now. Dracmon heads the other way, as quietly and as inconspicuously as she can; with luck they can get Frigimon between them.

How had it come to this? Perry couldn't help but wonder.

It probably all started with Arcee's disappearance. Perry had agreed to go out looking for her, even though he had a feeling she would be like Fluttershy and return eventually. Then again maybe she wouldn't, but Perry didn't mind the excuse to get back out there and explore this world. He'd headed back to File Island on a whim, never having spend that much time there. On the way, he'd heard news of the Gears and his mission had shifted a bit to coming to investigate.

Cue his arrival on the island, scoping out the place with Bartholomew and Gertrude, and then being attacked later that afternoon by a not so little pony.

Which is what leads to the answer that started this whole thing. He hears the cry of the pony and looks up. He thought he'd gotten out of his line of fire but apparently not. Perry's eyes widen, but there's nothing to fear as his wizarding digimon duo is there.

"Magic Game!"
"Ice Illusion!"

The two spells wove together to form a reflective ice-based barrier that would hopefully withstand the attack.

A small, insignificant lake awaits you, possibly providing the weary Chosen with a break from all the Black Gears. It's strangely beautiful with the electric poles sticking out of the lake and the forest surrounding it on all sides.

Of course, below the calm surface lurks a deadly and fierce enemy. Seadramon is not a digimon to piss off and now that it has a black gear wedged behind its head fins it is NOT happy. The serpent roars and thrashes in the water as soon as anyone gets close to its shores. It's hard to tell which is worse: the ice breath or the sharp teeth. Oh, and don't let him catch you...his squeeze is not a friendly hug by any means.

[When the barrier was formed, Unimon growled a monstrous growl. His eyes, covered by the mask and glass visor, were glowing a dark color. His growling only got more angry when the shield reflected the attack back. He easily dodged the blow however, flying tot he side. There was no way that he was going to let some pathetic wizard Digimon defeat him, even if he didn't know why he wanted to destroy them so bad. Who cared? He would destroy them. He therefore flew head first right to the barrier.] 'corn Thrust! [He jammed his sharp horn right into the barrier, trying to hit it hard enough to break it into tiny little pieces, and then do the same to the Digimon and their Chosen.]

Unfortunately it's more difficult to sneak in the snow and ice then some terrain. As the Frigimon pants to catch her breath she hears the crunching of snow under claw and whirls to face Dracmon. When she spins the black gear in her back is clear as day against her white fluff.

"Snowballs!" Another machine gun barrage of snowballs swarms for Dracmon as she attacks without further provocation.

(OOC: I am okay with solo, or if someone wants to jump in! I don't know OOCly if anyone's around or not though.)

It's especially hard to sneak in the snow when your primary colors are black. Dracmon is just not good sneaking materials but she's trying! As soon as she's spotted, as opposed to Terra or Dorumon, it seems she's going to work very hard on keeping that attention! There's a brief wail of what sure seems to be genuine terror as she scrambles madly away, dodging snowballs to the best of her ability.

This isn't exactly something she's good at, by the way one of the rapidfire snowballs knocks her cartwheeling through the air to skid to a stop a short distance away... and resume screaming and fleeing. The fear's not false, Frigimon is way bigger and stronger, but the distraction, even if it meant getting hit by painfully, bitterly cold snowballs and risking being frozen solid, is that her partners aren't being watched.

And both of them are working on getting closer. There's one of those gears. Terra is remarkably strong for a human.. but he's not sure he and Dorumon will be able to pry it out. At least for the moment they're not being watched..

The distraction is working like a charm! Frigimon is getting even more irritated and lets out a roar as she tries to race after Dracmon. A big girl like her takes some time to build up speed though and each thundering step kicks up snow and frost in her wake.

"Sub Zero Ice Punch!" She roars hurling herself after Dracmon and swinging her freezing fist at the ground. If she misses Dracmon it will just create another layer of slippery ice on top of the already frozen ground.

If she connects though...well the other Digimon she's frozen still haven't recovered.

"Blast Rings!"

Aquilamon dove down from the sky as he noticed the fight going on between the two rookies and Frigimon, firing off those rings from his mouth towards the snow bear's back. Chika was clutching onto his feathers to make sure that she didn't fall or anything as he did so. It was probably silly to be on her partner's back during a fight but it wasn't like he had time to drop her off.

But when they get closer, Chika realizes something and her eyes widen. "Aquilamon, is that Terra?"

"It looks like it," the digimon responds, circling around and getting ready to dodge whatever it is that Frigimon throws at them.

[ there in lies the problem... there is a village down there and with everything going on, of course Starscream's main concern is all of those little innocent Digimon. if there is going to be a battle, then there needs to be some sort of evacuation. this is what he has set his mind to, trying to round up the Yokomon and herd them into a safe place - likely a cave or something along the mountain.

Starscream is paying too much mind to his task to notice the oncoming attack. Airblitz, however, is ready. perhaps the Patamon cannot fight Meramon directly, but he fires an Air Shot at the attack. ]

Move!

[ Airblitz knows he cannot snuff out the attack, but redirecting its course and giving Starscream enough time to get out of the way suits him just fine. ]

Even more distraction means as Dracmon scrabbles away from Frigimon, she's less likely to get horribly maimed in the doing! This in no way helps against the more immediate ice punch, which misses by less than a gatomon's whisker, smashing into the ground and creating a very slippery pane of ice that the Dracmon immediately skids across in a frantic windmilling of limbs, only to crash into the snow not far away.

Which is about when Aquilamon arrives. This is a good thing, as it means Dracmon suddenly probably won't be the immediate focus in favor of the much bigger digimon.. and doesn't really interrupt Terra's plans at all. He spares only enough attention to reassure himself it's not another Digimon infected with a black gear. Dracmon gives an unsteady thumbs-up and scrabbles further out of the way, seemingly content to run! ... She isn't, she's just trying to get a better angle.

Terra meanwhile has actually picked up Dorumon. Frigimon isn't watching, which means there's opportunity! And that means bodily throwing his own partner at the snowy digi's back. Dorumon's prepared for this! And as soon as he can grab hold of fur or black gear in teeth and claws, he's going to stick there like a fuzzy purple burr. They're going to try to get that thing out as soon as they can.. but first, getting there!

Alot of things happened at once. First the flaming rings caused Frigimon to flail and fire snowballs wildly in every direction.

It wasn't enough to keep Dorumon away though and she let out another roar, racing head first for the nearest ice cliff.

WHAM!

The cliff shuddered and blocks of ice tumbled down towards Frigimon and Dorumon.

"Dorumon! Get away from there!" Chika shouted from Aquilamon's back as the large bird dove down more, trying to see if there was anything that the two of them could do to help. But anything he could think of would just make the ice coming down worse. He couldn't exactly fire at the cliff, after all.

Aquilamon lands and Chika jumps off of his back, looking around. "Terra! We need to do something about your other partner! He's going to get crushed!"

Aquilamon stepped forward, trying to get Frigimon's attention again as he moved closer. He might not be able to blast the ice without causing more ice to come down, but if Frigimon and Dorumon ended up safe he could definitely make himself be the bigger threat.

The ONE perk to being a dorumon is the entire breed is remarkably swift. Maybe not as fast as their pre-evolutions, but Terra trusted Dorumon to do one thing: be nimble as all get out. Which means as Frigimon smashes head first into an icy cliff, the impact alone is ALMOST enough to jar Dorumon loose but not quite; and then begins the quick scramble to get out of the way of most of the falling ice. Not all of it. He's not successful every time, and the more the crumbling ice wall hits, the more likely it will in the future.. but that's one nimble purple fluff.

Unfortunately it means while climbing about like a demented monkey, ice and snow sticking to his fur and the battering he'd already taken hurting.. he doesn't realy have a good opportunity to grab onto that gear and try to do anything with it.

"He knows what he's doing." Terra sounds confident in that much; he's intending to get directly involved himself shortly. "Just try to keep that thing preoccupied, don't worry about us. We'll be fine!"

That's not exactly true, is it? But he seems sure of it, especially with Dracmon beinning her creep back to his side. Aquilamon can be a glorious distraction.

The Frigimon moaned and squirmed under the ice. Had they managed to destroy her black gear?

Well that question would have to wait because another sound burst across the tundra and echoed through the sky.

"Bone Boomerang!"

A Mojiyamon had appeared, drawn by all the noise and in his own fury hurled a twisted bone through the air at them. The bone itself was half a foot thick and at least five feet long. But spinning through the air it was a blur as it raced for the chosen.

Chika's eyes widened when she heard that attack, her head turning in the direction of the sound. And sure enough, there was a massive boomerang coming right for her. The young girl quickly ducked to the ground, having been in the Digital World more than long enough at this point to not freeze when impending death by bludgeoning was coming towards her.

Aquilamon snarled, knowing that with Chika down like that she was probably going to be okay. So instead of trying to knock the bone away, he charged right towards Mojiyamon instead, his horns glowing white. The attack might've been meant to impale, but the added power from using it should be enough to be able to hit him back once he got close enough to swing his head and aim the side of the horns into the attacking digimon's chest.

"He is not happy," Bartholomew the Wizardmon grunted, holding his staff tightly.

Perry shot his partner a look as if to say 'No kidding.'

Gertrude hissed. This was only her second time as Sorcermon and already she was feeling the strain of such a battle. Her eyes flick up to the flying digimon, "It does not matter. We still need a better plan. Bartholomew. Take Perry."

Just as she said this the barrier flickered. Gertrude stepped forward, ready with a freezing spray of water, "Drowning Aquarius!" The water would hopefully buy Bartholomew enough time to get Perry to a safe location and out of the immediate range of Unimon's attack.

[Meramon barely bats an eye at the puff of air. The flaming ball blows up a tree near Airblitz so while his plan to divert the attack succeeds, it was otherwise very ineffective.

The tall, flaming humanoid gathers more fire in his hands. He's not stopping just yet and with someone attacking back he now has a new target acquired. Be ready for multiple fire balls now.]

"STARSCREAM!"

The voice comes from above, as Skydive - in DORUgamon form - hurtles downward, with Optimus and Hot Shot upon his back. The furry dragon opens his maw, firing a barrage of cannonballs from his mouth at Meramon.

But that's not all, because once they're low enough, Optimus leaps from his partner's back, falling towards Meramon as he brandishes his tonfas, aiming to smack into Meramon and club him across the face with them, hoping Skydive's barrage was a capable distraction.

Hot Shot, meanwhile, jumps from Optimus's back, fire welling on the jewel on his head.

"PETIT PROMINENCE!" he shouts, trying to send out enough fireballs of his own to intercept, and hopefully detonate, Meramon's fireballs.

[A yellow let emerges from where Optimus's spark and Matrix of Leadership should be, forming a crest.

YOU GOT THE ~~TOUCH~~ CREST! YOU GOT THE POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWER!]

[ it's still jarring, knowing that Optimus Prime is fighting with and not against him - despite the fact that it's a different Prime altogether. Starscream's arms are presently full of the Yokomon he's aiding. shielding them, if anything and wondering what that light is all about.

the Patamon, of course, isn't going to let any stray fireballs passed him. already he realizes that his Chosen is going to be one of those types - putting others before himself. determined to defend his own Chosen, light encases Airblitz's form. ]

Patamon evolve to -

[ and the light fades, the new Champion stretching out his wings and shaking his head. ]

Pegasusmon! Star Shower!

[ the barrage of stars from his wings should take out any remaining fireballs. ]

Answer: Probably not, unless Frigimon somehow managed to destroy it herself. Which would be nice, but fairly unlikely, and Terra didn't rely on happy coincidences.

Carefully Dorumon pops up over the broken ice, small enough to have survived it intact. "I'm not sure I can get to it with all of this!" A glance is sent Chika's way - but she knows to hide, and Dorumon's own partner.. apparently does not, given Terra immediately tackles the pile of ice and stone, working on shoving it out of the way. Either they killed the frigimon, or they... got the gear out or something, and buried under ice that's not going to work.

Dracmon's more than happy to leave Mojiyamon to Aquilamon .. it SEEMED as if the bird was going to handle the new fuzzy snowy monster, and she was more concerned about the fact that her Chosen is busy trying to dig out a hostile digimon. As it seemed Mojiyamon was aiming at Chika, it's just a matter of making sure she's not on that same trajectory. "Get away from there! Let us handle it! The other one knows to go hide, so GO HIDE!!"
