Pasta Dinner Night -- Open to All

When: April 7, 2013, 6pm onwards
Where: The communal kitchen
What: Shepard hosts a communal dinner to make sure all the kids are okay, but adults and digimon are welcome as well!

[There's a good chance Shepard is going to regret emptying her wallet later, but for now, she's armed with a massive quantity of uncooked pasta and a bunch of jars of red sauce, along with butter and salt just in case of picky eaters. She'd normally just make the same thing for everyone, but she's dealing with what could be very young, very frightened children, so it's best to err on the side of caution.]

[She settles into the kitchen at 6, and after banishing Monodramon to their apartment (he's still in trouble for the incident with Gomamon), sets about to cooking.]

[If you show up early, you'll find her manning a large number of cooking pots full of heating sauce and boiling water. If you're on time, you'll find Shepard handing out plates of pasta and offering a choice between sauce or no sauce, then herding you to a table filled with anyone who got here before you. Why not get to mingling? There's enough food and company to go around, tonight.]

Early

[Neku arrives early enough that no one else seems to be around yet, but he makes no obvious move to greet Shepard, instead hanging back at the door. Terriermon is layed out on his head, making his spiky hair squish down. She also has his headphones on, though they don't fit her ears right so the music can be heard escaping.

Neku is just projecting awkwardness. So much so that he keeps reaching up to press his 'phones to his ear, only to forget that Terriermon has them and instead just pressing her ear to the side of his face and huffing in annoyance.

Speaking of Terriermon, she ruins his conflict pretty fast]

Heeeey Commander!

[Neku has tried to find a seat on the edge with mixed results, sitting closer to more people then he'd normally like. Terriermon is still on his head, and he occasionally passes her some pasta.]

...s'not bad, huh?

[There was a time when faint music in an empty room would have perked Shepard's attention, but she's past that point. Garrus has a tendency to play music on his headset during fights, and it plays over the comm link. She's learned to tune it out.]

[Shouting digimon, on the other hand.]

Terriermon, Neku, hey.

[She grins up from a pot of boiling water.]

You guys are early.

...wanted to avoid the crowd. You need any help?

[She nods and resumes her cooking.]

I could certainly use some. Grab a pot and get stirring, kid.

Not much of a cook, but I'm best the stirrer and taste tester in Shibuya.

[He puts Terriermon down (dragging ears + sauce = bad) and goes to to stir at some sauce]

[Shepard chuckles.]

Exactly the skillset I was looking for.

[He sets to it, making sure to drag the spoon over the bottom so nothing sticks and burns]

Don't those goofy looking digimon cook?

I don't know if I trust their cooking.
