Pasta Dinner Night -- Open to All

Characters: Anyone who wants in!
When: April 7, 2013, 6pm onwards
Where: The communal kitchen
What: Shepard hosts a communal dinner to make sure all the kids are okay, but adults and digimon are welcome as well!

[There's a good chance Shepard is going to regret emptying her wallet later, but for now, she's armed with a massive quantity of uncooked pasta and a bunch of jars of red sauce, along with butter and salt just in case of picky eaters. She'd normally just make the same thing for everyone, but she's dealing with what could be very young, very frightened children, so it's best to err on the side of caution.]

[She settles into the kitchen at 6, and after banishing Monodramon to their apartment (he's still in trouble for the incident with Gomamon), sets about to cooking.]

[If you show up early, you'll find her manning a large number of cooking pots full of heating sauce and boiling water. If you're on time, you'll find Shepard handing out plates of pasta and offering a choice between sauce or no sauce, then herding you to a table filled with anyone who got here before you. Why not get to mingling? There's enough food and company to go around, tonight.]

[Wally blinks, frowning in confusion.]

Sorry, Commander, you lost me. What's a biotic?

... Uh. Well, I don't need an amp or whatever, it's all genetic. I mean, I wasn't born with powers, I... kind of blew myself up and then I got powers. Or, well, I got powers because I blew myself up. Remember those notes I mentioned I found? They were for an experiment that gave The Flash his powers. So, naturally, I recreated it. He needed a partner, so I gave him one.

[Wally sighs. No, seriously, he doesn't have a meth lab, there are no drugs involved.]

Well, I guess for someone not from our universe, it's pretty bizarre. I mean, it seems like a lot of places don't actually have superheroes, so I'm not really sure how to explain it any better.

But I promise I don't have a meth lab, nor have I ever stepped foot in a meth lab or in any way had any association with a meth lab. I'm a good guy, Commander, I just don't know how to prove that to you without my powers.

Well... what do you want to know, exactly?

Fight crime, mostly. We usually leave the petty stuff to the cops, but if one of the Rogues or other superpowered villains show up, they know who to call. Not that they're incapable—I mean, my uncle works for the forensic science department and he's one of the best; and they're not corrupt like Gotham's PD—it's just more time efficient to let us handle the supervillains. Point is, we cooperate with each other and we try to act as close to the law as we can, even though we're technically above it.

The Flash likes to make public appearances, too, like grand openings of new parks and stuff like that. I can't always make those kinds of things cuz Flash doesn't like me skipping school, but we like to get as involved in the community as we can even when we aren't running circles around the bad guys. My personal favorite is Story Time with Kid Flash at the library on the weekends. I think the kids like it too.

And then there's community service, when we can. I mean, we have superspeed, might as well use it to help clean up the bad parts of town, right? It's just a shame I can't put this stuff on my resume...
