Pasta Dinner Night -- Open to All

Characters: Anyone who wants in!
When: April 7, 2013, 6pm onwards
Where: The communal kitchen
What: Shepard hosts a communal dinner to make sure all the kids are okay, but adults and digimon are welcome as well!

[There's a good chance Shepard is going to regret emptying her wallet later, but for now, she's armed with a massive quantity of uncooked pasta and a bunch of jars of red sauce, along with butter and salt just in case of picky eaters. She'd normally just make the same thing for everyone, but she's dealing with what could be very young, very frightened children, so it's best to err on the side of caution.]

[She settles into the kitchen at 6, and after banishing Monodramon to their apartment (he's still in trouble for the incident with Gomamon), sets about to cooking.]

[If you show up early, you'll find her manning a large number of cooking pots full of heating sauce and boiling water. If you're on time, you'll find Shepard handing out plates of pasta and offering a choice between sauce or no sauce, then herding you to a table filled with anyone who got here before you. Why not get to mingling? There's enough food and company to go around, tonight.]

[obviously fascinated with this world of optional clothes.]

I know what you mean. Going back and forth between fur and skin can get weird. Scales are even weirder. [laughs] and going from cold blooded to warm blooded? Gives me the chills every time.

[by this time Psychemon who has been quietly eating pipes up]

pardon...sidebar. How does your friend see with um...hooves?

[She glances at Psychemon curiously.] I'm sorry...?

well I mean, you guys don't have hands or claws right?

[wiggles her own claws for emphasis]

So how does she handle a needle?

O-oh. W-well, she's a unicorn, so she's able to use her magic for that. But mostly she uses a sewing machine, like other ponies would.

Wait but how does-

Whoa! You have magic unicorns too? Your world is AWESOME!

[A shy nod.] B-back home, unicorns and pegasi are just two of the four kinds of ponies. Th-there are also Earth ponies, and alicorns...but only royalty are alicorns, so th-there are fewer of them than the other ponies.

Huh...wouldn't have thought about Alicorns.

So you guys have royalty? Like a king and queen?

S-something like that...mostly just princesses.

Brightly colored ponies, magic, and princesses.

You guys sound like everything my friend Starfire loves. Seriously if she ever gets here she's gonna wanna be your friend even faster then I did!

[She blushes, the mention of his friend making her realize how much she's talked of herself during their conversation. A little embarrassed, she smiles.]

O-oh? Wh-what's she like, your friend?

[well yeah but only because he kept asking]

Oh Starfire? She's great! She's an alien princess from a far away planet. Strong enough to punch out dudes five times her size! And she can fly through the sir like how a dolphin swims!

[laughs] and if that wasnt enough she's about the nicest person you'll ever meet.

She sounds wonderful.

[A bit of a curious note though.]

How did you meet her if she's from another planet? [How do people get to other planets?]

Oh dude! That's like, a whole thing. OK so it's like this.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess! She lived in a big castle on a far away planet called Tamaran!

[He's really getting into the story now, waving his hand at the stars despite them being indoors.]

Everyone loved the princess, because she was sweet and kind and brave. Everyone loved her so much in fact that her older sister began to worry that their parents might give her the throne instead. One day the poor little princess was kidnapped by this gnarly green lizard looking alien dudes called the Gordanians!

[He's excited now, acting out the parts of the sweet princess, the jealous older sister and even the Gordanians. He may not be able to shape shift but he can make his face do some really wild expressions. He snags a breadstick and uses it to indicate their spaceship]

The Gordanians had her trapped in their ship and were going to sell her as a slave. But little did they know how strong the princess really was! She SMASHED her way free and flew to the nearest planet. We call that planet Earth! Home of the humans!

[He crumples up the breadstick spaceship and throws it away]

Crash landing on Earth, confused and alone the princess started smashing the bindings around her arms against buildings and cars trying to break them. The humans didn't understand her language though and began to panic and run around screaming and stuff!

[Flailing his arms acting panicked as the citizens, pretending to wreck stuff as Starfire, he's probably got an audience by this point]

That's when a hero arrived! [He grabs a table cloth for a cape and a mask made out of a napkin] With a woosh of his cape and some totally sweet kung fu he attacked the princess trying to protect the people from her massive strength! When she proved too much for him, as if led there by the hands of fate, other heroes arrived!

[Abandoning the cape he [pulls on another makeshift mask out of a plastic bag, this one covers his whole upper face with holes for the eyes. He moves quickly when inspired.]

First was an eager young shape shifter! Who's quick transformations and unrivaled bravery sent him charging into action!

[Then he tosses the bag aside and armors up with some plates and bowls]

Soon after a massive man of metal and flesh arrived and used his strength to help the other two heroes keep the princess from destroying much more!

[Then he whips off the armor and grabs the table cloth again this time wearing it up with a hood]

Finally a mysterious girl arrived and calmed everyone down, suggesting that maybe...juuuuust maybe fighting wasn't the answer!

[He throws the cape away to continue]

So the first hero approached the princess, and helped her undo her bindings. In exchange she gave him a kiss...and warned the heroes that if they ever came near her again, she'd destroy them! With that she flew off into the city.

[He pauses for dramatic effect again grinning slyly knowing they'd want to hear more.]

And that's how the Teen Titans, heroes of my world, met for the first time. And how Starfire came to Earth.

[She watches him as he tells his story, eyes wide and listening eagerly. She's completely captivated by his tale, and excited to hear more.]

S-so what happened to her? A-and the other heroes? What did they do after she flew off?

[Grins slyly]

I'm glad you asked~

See the other heroes each wanted to go their separate the detective boy wanted to go after the alien girl, the mysterious sorcerer girl was afraid of letting anyone close to her. The big half man half metal guy was afraid people would reject him because of his looks.

And I just wanted to hang out with all of them! I mean the shapeshifter did...anyway...

So suddenly BOOM! This ship arrived and a massive image filled the sky! It was the leader of the Gordanians and he threatened that if the people of Earth didn't deliver the alien Princess to him soon, he would destroy the planet.

Well the heroes couldn't let that happen could they? So they set off to find the Princess and try to put a stop to the whole, world being blown up thing.

When the heroes found the princess though, they didn't fight. Instead they spoke with her. Told her about friendship and what it meant. The princess did not know of the word friendship. But with an open heart she gave it a try and joined the heroes to fight off the Gordanian threat!

Together these five brave heroes took the fight back to the alien ship! Each one of them bringing something to the table! The detectives leadership, the princesses courage and strength. The brilliant mind of the half metal man, and the mysterious sorceresses wisdom and mystical buttwhupping skills. And let's not forget the shapeshifters good humor, good looks, totally awesome powers to turn into any animal he wanted, did I mention he was funny?

[At this point psychemon can't sit idly any longer]

Get on with it!

[He grins sheepishly]

Anyway! The heroes came together and fought off the Gordanian threat! They sent em packing with a POW! And a KABOOM! And a RAWR! And PSSSSSHEW! And CRRRRASH! And a BOOYAH!

With the world safe from trouble the heroes stood on the island and decided they actually liked working together. The Princess especially liked having friends and being nice to others. And so they formed a team! The likes of which the world had never seen before. Teenage heroes with attitude! The Teen Titans! And that team would save the world time and time again!

So when there's trouble? You know who to call!

W-wow...! That's incredible! You and your friends...that's amazing!

You bet! We saved the world alot after that too!

This is uh... My first mission without them though. So...go team?

[She blinks for a moment, then smiles softly.] I-I...know what you mean. Th-this is...the first time I'm doing something...without my friends back home too.

B-but...it'll be okay...right? If we...work together...

[brightens up and grins again]

You bet! The two of us by ourselves are super awesome! And we've got our Digimon too!

[She nods, then smiles wide as another thought occurs to her.]

I-It's just like your story...people meet, and become friends...and save the world.

[laughs out loud and cheers]

You got it! And we'll have some fun along the way. And food.

[offers her a breadstick]

[She returns with a smile and takes a breadstick.]
