As Plain As the Scar on His Face
Who: Kovu, anyone! (particularly Fluttershy and Ed and probably Hollyleaf and Nala too)
What: Kovu's journey on the Trailmon
Where: Primary Village, the Trailmon, any Terminals/rest stops along the way, maybe nearby towns?
When: Starting the morning after the city disappears on 1/1, all the way up to the arrival in Hospitown (sometime between 1/8 and 1/12 maybe).
Even just watching Kovu these past couple of weeks has been heartbreaking for Lopmon. He'd never thought that someone could go through so much pain just because of what had happened to them in their past, but Kovu...he'd barely even spoken to his own partners in the last two weeks, or to Hollyleaf, and she was at his new apartment checking on him all the time. Lopmon had been worried they wouldn't be able to get Kovu out of the apartment, after he heard what Jupitermon had said about the entire city of Chosen. The guy could barely even move after that, but at least he let them lead him out and get to Primary Village safely.
The Trailmon headed for the first stop on the way to Hospitown has just started boarding, and Lopmon is right beside Kovu, trying his best to stay at least a little more cheerful than his two partners. Strabimon was there, and he's been feeling worse and worse since that Liamon attacked Kovu and Hollyleaf. After Kovu broke his mirror, Strabimon had started to retreat into himself the same way Kovu did. Lopmon's been getting worried for both of them, and that if this keeps up this way, he might lose both his partners. If only he could think of some way to try to help them both feel better...
[ooc: This is the catchall log for most of what Kovu'll be doing during the migration. Just pick whatever day and place you want and put that in the subject line when you reply. If you want Kovu somewhere other than the train just PM this journal and we can work it out, or if you've got me on plurk hit me up there :3]

[Eh, day 3 rest stop? How's that fit?]
But he hadn't spotted Kovu until this most recent rest stop and waved eagerly.
"Dude! Over here!"
Rita also offered a polite wave while Chili only gave a curt nod.
[Fits just fine~]
Kovu should've known better than to think he'd run into someone sane. Then again, Beastboy can't be worse than Ed, can he? At least he knows when to back off. He's in no hurry to make his way over to the green guy and his partners, flanked by his own two. Their "original" partners didn't really have a chance to meet, so this should be...interesting.
"Been a while," Kovu offers. After the...ordeal with Ed, and Fluttershy's first aid, he's not as self-conscious about the scar. But still...he's trying to hide it behind that tuft of hair that falls in front of his eyes.
Yay!
"We found this vending machine and were about to have ourselves some snacks. You want in? My treat!" He offered hopefully.
"They've got Beef Jerky." Rita threw in temptingly while Chili arched her eyebrow curiously and moved to inspect the stock of the glass case.
no subject
"Yeah, beef jerky sounds great," he says, continuing to leave Beastboy hanging.
no subject
And then it stopped. Stuck.
"Aw dude unfair!" Beastboy struck the side of the machine with his fist and then yelped, shaking his hand where apparently it had been hurt from the strike.
"I'll just put some more bits in." Rita offered but Chili sniffed in irritation.
"You call that a punch?" She scolded Beastboy ignoring Rita's totally honest and responsible idea.
no subject
"Just put more bits in so you don't break it, I'll pay you back" he says, hoping the Gaomon will listen.

The machine rattled and shook letting out a groaning sound...and sure enough Kovu's jerky fell from the hook into the catch tray.
"Heh." The blue dog folded her arms smug and Beastboy grinned fishing out the pack and throwing it to Kovu "Score!"
Before further celebration could be had however there came the sound of grinding gears that sounded like growling. The machine rattled and made a loud banging noise as it began rattling and shooting out snacks at a high velocity at the digimon and chosen.
"Hit the deck!" the green teen yelped before taking a back of chips in the face knocking him clean off his feet.
no subject
No. No. Why.
"What did I just say?!" Kovu's lack of sleep catches up with him pretty suddenly, and he has to try rather mightily to resist grabbing the Gaomon and using her for a shield. Instead, he simply steps right up against the side of the machine - since it can only spit forward - and then yanks Beastboy after him. The Digimon can handle their own problem, since this is kind of their fault.

"Dude...talk about fast food." Beastboy joked rubbing his face where the chip bag had left an impression.
Chili bowed her head "I am deeply sorry. My pride got the better of me." She then turned back to the machine and gave it another thump trying to shut it off. This did not help.
no subject
He's just glad his partners aren't here. Strabimon would've attacked her by now, and Lopmon would keep getting hit. He smacks himself in the forehead, trying to think of something they can do about this thing.
no subject
"Maybe try unplugging it?" Rita suggested sounding much more relaxed then she looked as she began swatting the snacks out of the air to protect others from their flight.
"Oh...duh." Beastboy face palmed and tried peered behind the rattling machine. "We're gonna have to push it away from the wall. I can't reach the plug from here." Despite his skinny arms.

Feeling compelled to redeem herself Chili seized him with one of her boxing glove clad fists and hauled him out of the way "I'll do it." She growled.
Throwing her shoulder into the machine, her powerful legs dug into the grown, claws scraping on the pavement as she growled and strained.
Slowly...ever so slowly the heavy metal machine groaned and began to screech as friction fought it's motion every step of the way.
"Got it!" Beastboy lunged underneath the Gaomon putting his skinny arms to good use and yanking out the plug. The machine sputtered and fell silent...though already completely empty of snacks.
Snacks which Rita was now shamelessly gathering up from the surrounding area and putting in Beastboy's bag.
no subject
"Do you do that all the time?" He glares at the Gaomon, wishing he knew her name so he could berate her more personally.
no subject
Beastboy tried to defuse the situation in vain "Aw come on dude we all make mistakes. Let's just laugh it off huh? No one got hurt and now we've got all this free junk food!"
"It sort of feels wrong but...well it's not like we can put it back." Rita commented bringing over the spoils of their misguided attempts to fix the machine.
Beastboy plucked a chocolate bar out of the pile. "Here dude, try one of these. Chocolate makes everything better." Secretly he was more excited to see yet another non-human try what was arguably man kinds greatest invention.
no subject
But then Beastboy is handing him something and he's backpedaling because he has no idea what it is. He looks at the...chocolate suspiciously, then eyes Beastboy with much the same expression. He takes the item and unwraps it, only to stare at the brown block of candy he's left with.
"...You guys eat this stuff?" It doesn't even smell that good...
no subject
So far in his introductions to being human he had found only two non-humans who didn't care for Chocolate. The rest had had their minds blown by the melty wonderful flavor.

Kovu sniffs at the bar and wrinkles his nose. He's smelled chocolate before around the cafe, but he never actually grabbed any of the stuff. It's...really weird. He takes a small bite and slowly chews it, but the longer it's on his tongue the more sour his expression becomes, until finally it looks like he'd just taken a bite of rotten meat. He blanches, but swallows it.
"Ugh! That's supposed to taste good?" He starts licking the back of his wrist, trying to get the bitter taste off his tongue.
no subject
"Oh come ON! It's gotta just be lions right? Maybe something's wrong with your tongue!"
Rita chuckled politely and offered to take it off Kovu's hands "Nala didn't like it either. And neither did Black Wargreymon if you remember."
Beastboy sighed and smiled again "Yeah well, no accounting for taste. I guess that means more for us. You can have all the jerky though if you want?
"Go ahead, pick anything else out you'd like to try, do you like spicy things?" Rita encouraged as she separated the pile into two smaller piles.
no subject
"Y-yeah. Just gimme all the jerky." The stuff was cooked so badly it was tough and chewy, but at least it's meat. Better than that bitter chocolate.
no subject
"Alright try these." He insisted popping open the bag and digging out a barbecue flavored potato chip.
"We'll find some junk food to blow your mind if it's the last thing I do." He insisted. "I mean I get it, wild kingdom and all that. You know what you've been raised with...but there's a reason humans are the dominant species on our planet."

Chili muttered under her breath "If your life consists of sitting around reading comic books maybe."

"Delicious. I'm getting some serious lack of trust here dude. We're friends aren't we? I'd never steer you wrong!"
"At least not on purpose." Rita supplied completely unhelpful. It made Gaomon smirk though.
