[ As planned, the party is being held at the karaoke bar. On the middle tables of the room are two 8-tier cakes surrounded by whatever presents people brought. There are snacks and drinks on the other tables. Balloons fill the corners of the room. It looks pretty sweet.

He's already texted Rise about meeting him here, under the guise of a date, so she should be showing up any moment now...

Get ready to yell surprise and belt out some tunes (whether you can sing or not)! ]

You mean ... Wally? [ She suddenly smiles and realizes what was going on. ]

Wally planned all this, didn't he?

Oh, is that his name? Sonata didn't know.

Yeah, he did! Sonata volunteered to sing a song for Risette!

And I am glad you did too! But, since it is my birthday ... I should probably get a wish, don't I?

Come on. I'll race you to one of the karaoke machines. Sing with me!

Okay! [Totally excited for this!] Sonata wants to sing with Risette! Sonata will race!

Great! On your mark, get set --- Go!

[And Sonata will take off as soon as Rise gives the 'Go', eager to be first!]

[ Rise wasn't really much of a runner, so not surprisingly, Sonata had that round. She decided to make up for it by scoring more in the Karaoke machine. ]

Sonata, you're pretty fast!

[sonati]

Heheh... Sonata's had training! [Combat training! But she doesn't clarify.]

Maybe Sonata can teach Risette a few things too.

[ You have no idea, Rise. ]

[sonati]

Sure, sure! Sonata can teach Risette lots of stuff.

[Like how to bug Makoto!]

Then I can't wait!

[ Laughs. ]

Do you want to choose the first song?

[sonati]

Oh, Sonata gets to choose? Okay!

[She'll scroll through her options, then, until she comes across, well, an AKB48 song, Gingham Check.]

Let's do this one!

No problem! [ Rise pressed the play button to begin. This is Rise's workplace after all. She knew most of the songs here already and since knowing Sonata, she has been making herself familiar with AKB songs.

The song starts and Rise even begins doing some of the steps. ]

Risette's been learning AKB songs? [Maybe now she can get Rise to perform with her sometime--]

Well, since the first time we danced at the arcade I've been trying to learn some of the songs every chance I get.

Too bad this place doesn't have all the songs of AKB48 in the system.

[ She just knows a few though. She hasn't learned all of the songs yet. AKB48 had a lot of songs. ]

Sonata doesn't know all of AKB's songs, either. We should practice together, though!

That could work. We can work on it together during my breaks ...

[ She didn't say it, but ... she really did miss performing. She didn't miss some things about being an idol, but she still wanted to perform. ]

Sonata likes that idea! Sonata wants to perform together with Risette.

[ Kissing Sonata in the forehead. She has now adopted Sonata as a little sister. ]

[Yay big sis Risette! But oh yeah, she has a present to give Rise still-]

Here! Sonata has a gift for Risette! [It's a Rabbitmon plush! (Sonata really likes bunnies and stuffed animals, okay??) It's also one of those kinds that let you record your voice, so Sonata recorded herself singing 'Namida Surprise'.]

[ At first the singing came as a surprise to her, but moments later she was tearing. This was certainly touching. Back home, most of her idol rivals were not close to her at all. There was too much competition ... ]

Sonata ... this is just ... just ... wow!

Sonata wanted to get Risette something really special! Sonata was gonna just sing 'Namida Surprise'... but then I found the doll! Now Risette can listen to Sonata sing anytime.

This is going to be a tough present to top.

[ And she means it. ]

And this is just perfect since I don't have this song in the machine at work. Maybe next time we can sing together then.

Heh heh heh... Sonata's birthday isn't for another month, so Risette has time!
