What: Master Mario Kart Racing Logs!

When: 10-17 June

Where: Everywhere and anywhere.

As the clock struck Midnight, an earthquake happened. And car keys began to drop out the sky! As strange as that may seem, stranger still were the karts and bikes littering the city. The roads themselves were repaved and revamped to be more like a race track’s.

In the sky were fat, little turtles on happy, fun clouds of doom taping everything. It seems the Digital World thought you all could use a bit of racing mayhem, for a while, since the D-Terminals just turn on by themselves. On the screen were three trophies and a giant, delicious cake. And a….mushroom….thing.

“WELCOME TO THE EIGHTH MARIO KART GRAND PRIX!” The creature shouted into the camera. It seemed to a bit too enthusiastic, as it jumped up and down excitedly. “We have a lovely prize for those that a cake, baked by the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom! Along with the Trophy as you can see here! Racers come down to Luigi’s Circuit, at Noon or Seven to enter the MARIO KART GRAND PRIX!”

The feed cuts. Enter the race or run havoc in your personal kart! It’s up to you!

(OOC: You guys can use the practice tracks for whatever you want! The winner of the official races will be decided by you guys!)

"YAHOO!"

Beastboy's vehicle surged forward as the race began and he tried to steer it between the other racers. What it lacked in size and durability it made up for in agility.

"The B-Ped rides again!!!" He roared his scarf flapping behind him feeling the wind in his face and rushing past his pointy ears.

Daisuke was super stoked for this race and rushed out as soon as they announced it. It didn't take long to find his cart. It was blue with red and yellow flames painted around it, matching his usual jacket he wore in the digital world.

"Wow! It looks really cool Daisuke. Look there's a seat for me too," Veemon replied. It was one of the Double Dash cart and Daisuke was glad for it because he certainly wasn't going to race without Veemon.

"Hey you're right. This will be even more fun. Now come on the race is going to start soon, buddy."

Without any more hesitation Daisuke hopped onto the kart and Veemon followed along. The race started not long after and Daisuke revved the engine and took off, catching a glimpse of Beast Boy as he pulled out onto the track.

"Yahoo!"

At Mimi's insistence (Krrs, Ryan! Krrs!), they were entering the race in a pink monstrosity that Sharpay would have loved. It didn't look particularly fast or good for racing, but Mimi had picked it and Ryan felt sort of bad for worrying her recently, so he went along with it. He did stop Mimi from driving, though.

"I'll let you drive around the city later," Ryan promised, sliding behind the driver's wheel. It seemed to placate Mimi, who hopped in the back. "Are you ready for this, Mimi?"

"Ryan, let's go!"

Rolling his eyes fondly, Ryan focused on the road ahead of him. As the race started, the other racers zip past him in their cars but Ryan paid them no mind. Starting off fast didn't always mean finishing that way.

Beastboy didn't even bother looking behind him as his scooter took a small lead. He was more focused on the wind whipping his cheeks and tugging on his flapping scarf as they approached a row of glowing floating boxes.

Beastboy had played enough video games to know a power up when he saw one so as the distance closed he braced for impact and plowed through the box causing it to burst and provide him with...

"A Banana peel?! Dude gross!!" He protested and dropped it on the road inadvertently creating a hazard as he continued towards the first turn.

Of course...in his excitement and confusion he failed to realize that being in front? Made him a prime target.

Daisuke was coming up behind Beast Boy fast. The row of rainbow boxes glowing ahead were very insisting and Daisuke pushed the gas down hard as he drove right through them. The box he hit provided him with a little ghost of all things. While he wasn't sure what help that would be at first, he quickly realized something strange was going on as his cart, he, and Veemon were now all invisible.

"Sweet!"

Daisuke flew by the banana peel not even noticing it and with any luck the invisibility would last just long enough for him to get past Beast Boy up ahead.

Coasting through the last power-up box, Ryan grimaced. "What am I supposed to do with a banana peel?!"

"Ryan, look out!" Mimi pointed at the banana peel not currently in their car and Ryan swerved out of the way.

Well. That explain the point of the banana peel. Which had mysteriously disappeared, not that Ryan was complaining. They were catching up to the moped and - hey, where had that other car gone?

Beastboy was oblivious to nearly making Ryan wipe out and glanced over his shoulder to the rapidly gaining...cart?

"Hey dude! What'd you do with the other guy?! Flamebo?" As he had nick named Daisuke based on his car's pattern.

Beastboy's question was answered a few moments later when, from seemingly out of nowhere, the flame-painted care appeared again. It was RIGHT beside him and Daisuke laughed.

"Boo!"

And then pushed the gas down and drove faster.

Okay, mysteriously disappearing and reappearing cars. This was . . . Ryan would say it was the weirdest thing he'd seen, but that probably wasn't true. It was definitely a weird thing, though. Ryan pulls up behind the two others, trying to focus on maybe winning instead of the fact that cars can magically disappear.

"This place is ridiculous," Ryan mumbles. He steps on the gas.

Coming around the next turn a massive statue of a green clad man with a mustache looked down upon them and the track curved around the base. Beastboy tried to urge his car faster but it was only inching forward. Another row of boxes lurked ahead but Daisuke would get to them first.

Daisuke was glad to get ahead. He didn't consider that in a race like this it could change at any moment, but he's living in the moment. The row of boxes loomed before him and he tried to speed up faster. The box he drove through exploded with color and he got...another banana peel. Veemon, being his backseat driver, held it and made a face, "Should I throw it Daisuke?"

"Go for it!"

Veemon threw it back, trying to hide it among the boxes.
