Who: Kovu, Hollyleaf, and anyone else!
What: A couple of new arrivals to the city!
When: Midday-ish
Where: Just outside the main Terminal

[It takes Kovu a good few minutes to finally figure everything out with his new body - well enough, anyway. Now there's a different problem, in the shape of a really annoying animal trying to tell him what to do. He growls at it - or tries to at least - but doesn't get much of a reaction. Eventually he gives up, and takes the...digivice? Whatever the thing's supposed to be. There's also a...leaf he's supposed to pick up. The weird animal calls it a "letter."

He walks outside, only to get tackled immediately by another strange animal.]

You must be Kovu!

[The former lion is bowled over, since he can still barely walk without falling, and glares fiercely at the thing that pounced him before shoving it off.]

Who're you?

[The rabbit-like animal stands up, and brushes off his ears.]

I'm Lopmon, and I'm your Digimon partner!

...What?

Didn't you read the letter?

...Read?

[The Digimon hits his forehead with a paw.]

Hand it over, lunkhead.

[Kovu gives the animal a look, then kneels down to give him the letter. Lopmon takes a minute or two to read it to him, and to try to explain things as best he can to someone who never even had written language in his world, much less buildings or any sort of technology. Kovu does his best to understand, but not all of it's sinking in. There's just too much to get.]

I bet.

[Experimentally, Kovu swipes at the air with his arm, as if he still had a front leg with claws on it. It looks like some of the muscles stayed with him, because the speed of the swipe would create a powerful impact if it actually connected. He looks down at his hand, glad that at least something feels normal.]

And it was way awesome when I finally did get it down. The lion is one of my strongest forms. And with a mighty ROAR!

[Does his best to imitate a lion noise]

[Kovu can't help but laugh.]

That was a roar? You sound like a cub!

[He doesn't try to show Beastboy up, though. He already tried to roar at Lopmon earlier, and only managed to hurt his throat.]

[Beastboy laughs along because he knows it's true]

Well it USED to be way cooler.

[He relaxes from the laughs]

So what's the plan? Gonna wander around? Need a tour? Or just a quick and direct path to your new den?

[That makes Kovu straighten back up from his laughter.]

...New den?

[There's...there's a place for him to stay here?]

You got it chief!

[He gives him a thumbs up]

Everyone gets a new den when they come here. It's not much but it's a place to sleep and clean yourself up safely. You gotta share it with your Digimon and one or two other Tamers though.

I bet it's better than sleeping on a cold rock outside a cave.

[Kovu's still pretty sore over how Simba had made him sleep outside that night.]

Oh dude, you don't even know. We humans are experts at comfort. Just you wait.

[He waves to urge Kovu to follow him]

Your room number will be listed when we get there. At least that's how it was when I showed up.

["Comfort" is a luxury that Kovu has literally never had in his life. The closest he's ever gotten was laying next to Kiara.

He follows Beastboy, feeling rather...strange. He'd never felt so welcome before, not by a place, or by someone else. And he really isn't sure how he should be taking all of this.]

Any way to know who we're stuck with ahead of time?

Not till we get there I'm afraid. But the same place that lists your room will say who share it. It's how we find one another in the building.

[Rita keeps pace with them]

It may take some getting used to, sharing a living space with a stranger. Beastboy is pretty messy on his own and I'm alot more clean. So we just kinda...compromise.

[Kovu looks down at Lopmon.]

Can I make him sleep outside?

Hey!

[Beastboy and Rita laugh, though Rita tries to stifle it]

No, it's just as much their den as it is yours dude.

And like we said before, you gotta learn to work together.

[The building looms up in front of them and Beastboy leads the way to the front entrance.]

Let's see here...AHA Second floor, Room 001. You're with someone named Misha.

[Lopmon makes a noise that might've been a growl, but their laughter drowns him out. Kovu can't help but chuckle himself.]

Too bad.

I should strangle you while you sleep.

If I don't get to you, first.

[Kovu reels at the size of the building. He'd been paying attention to Beastboy and the Digimon as they walked, so the city - and its size - hadn't really gotten his notice.]

...It's huge...

Heh heh, well yeah dude! It's gotta have enough room for all the new tamers. I hear after awhile if you have enough money you can find your own place...but we'll explain money and all that later. Best to focus on the easy stuff.

Go ahead, try the door. Gotta get used to those human hands.

[Kovu looks at the door handle in doubt, not...really sure what to do with it. After a second he puts one hand on it, and pushes a bit. It gives, but he doesn't know what to do now. He looks back at Rita and Beastboy.]

[Beastboy holds his hand out mimicking Kovu but then curling his fingers like he's gripping the handle, twisting his wrist and then pulling it back with an encouraging grin.]

[With some amount of trepidation, he repeats the motion that Beastboy makes, feeling the door give and then open.]

What's the point of this?

[Then the rush of air from the interior startles him. Caves were always cooler than outside, but not like this. this was totally different. It barely even smells the same, not that this human nose can really tell that much of a difference.]

Well there's alot of reasons. For one it keeps the cool air in on hot days like today. Then of course you can lock the door to keep people out while you're sleeping. Think of it like having a rock in front of your Den that you could move from your side but someone outside couldn't.

[Rita leads the way inside while Beastboy explains the concept of doors with an amused smile on her face. It's not the first time he's had to help a non-human adjust. He seems to take great pleasure in it though]

[Kovu shivers a bit as they walk in. He's not a fan of how hold the humans like to keep this place.]

Who'd wanna come in while I'm sleeping?

Well, maybe people who wanna get the drop on you. Or like...if you're out doing stuff in the city you can lock the door so no one can come into your den and take your stuff.

[up a flight of stairs next]

Of course not all humans would do either of those things, but some humans are jerks.

[The lion is really not understanding any of this human stuff.]

...What would I have that someone would wanna take?

[Kovu balks at the stairs. These are new too. At first he tries to take them on all fours, but that proves to be too much of a pain, so he stands, and has to hold onto the rail to keep from falling.]

Well, see...

[He doesn't look so sure how to explain that but Rita steps up while standing on the next level.]

Humans like to own things. Collect things. Things they like, things they think they need. And sometimes humans and Digimon can be greedy and want things that other humans or Digimon have.

...Then why should I be worried? It's not like I have anything to keep.

[He laughs cheerfully]

I guess you've got a point there dude! Either way doors can be useful.

[Reaching the next floor and the apartment Beastboy gestures once more to the door.]

It's your home dudes, it's only fitting you get to be the first two through the door.

[Kovu looks at the door handle for a second, then reaches to open it. As soon as he walks through the door, he's confused again.]

...What is all this stuff?
