Who: Jin Uzuki and NPC digimon

What: Jin is dumb and restless and needs to get out of the city for a while. Unsurprisingly, this does not go as planned.

When: At some point on the 9th

Where: Between the city and Mt. Fuji.

Jin was by no means antisocial, he frequently enjoyed the company of others and enjoyed idle conversation. Still, the middle of a city wasn't where he was most comfortable and he tended to get restless when things stayed the same for too long. The obvious solution was to strike out and explore, starting with a trip to Mt. Fuji.

Armed with his sword and with Veemon trotting along next to him, he worked his way through the hills. It was refreshing, being out in the countryside. After so long living in space with only simulations of nature, the real thing seemed almost too beautiful for words, even if there were a few things that seemed...off, compared to what he would expect. Still, oddities aside, it was peaceful...perhaps deceptively so.

The D'Arcmon was far from happy with the changes the Digital World had recently been undergoing. First the earthquakes and then all these humans. She found it pitiable that many of these Digimon were so enthusiastic to meet them-- called them partners. The Digital World was theirs alone, humans did not belong there.

And yet the Digimon couldn't help her fascination with the landmarks that appeared with the humans. Terminal City was a travesty now, but there was also other new areas. A new mountain had recently caught her attention, she'd heard some of the others call it Mount Fuji in excited whispers. The D'Arcmon decided to take up residence there, as she had a penchant for high places.

She'd only just settled in and was rooting her staff in place when her ears caught the sounds of movements. Being the incredibly territorial being the Digimon was, she spoke in a bellowing voice, "Who goes there?"

He paused when he heard the voice, glancing down to see that Veemon had frozen. Not that Jin could blame him, such declarations never boded well. Still, he saw no reason to act as if hostility was inevitable and called back in a polite tone, "Jin Uzuki and Veemon, humble explorers wishing to enjoy the scenery outside of the city. I apologize if we're intruding, it was far from our intent."

Jin Uzuki? The name left a sour taste in the Digimon's mouth. A human. Grip on her staff tightening, D'arcmon raised herself to full height. "This is your only warning. Go. Now," she said coldly, "the likes of you humans will not be welcome here."

Veemon reached up to tug on the tail of Jin's longcoat, not taking his eyes off of the larger Digimon.

"Hey, maybe we should listen to her. She looks pretty angry and, well, how to put this...she's a lot stronger than I am."

Jin frowned and shook his head, resting one hand lightly on the sheath of his sword. His other hand tensed, ready and perhaps a little eager to draw the blade but still he held back, not intending to make the first move.

"While I can't blame you for being wary of humans, we were called here to help. Or...is it the purity of your world you're concerned with? If that's the case, attempting to turn me away from this mountain would be counter-productive. Unless I'm mistaken, it originated in the human world."

The D'Arcmon was less than pleased by matters as it was. She had a home in Terminal City just months ago. Now she has found she's both lost it and was kicked out of her city. Just passing by was enough for the angel Digimon to get worked up.

Now, here was this human coming up with their partner and trying to claim this land as their own. She growled lowly at the impudence of the human.

"Wary?" she said coldly, giving a laugh, "I've seen what humans do to your own world. Now, you're here claiming every bit of land that belonged to us! I will not have it. You've ruined my city, you shall not claim this mountain."

"I've been kind enough already. Leave now and I will not end your miserable existence."

Is okay! You've been busy.

"It's my last intent to take your land from you. I've seen enough of that in my own world." His voice came out hard, the closest to angry he'd sounded since arriving here, and caused Veemon to jump. Jin couldn't agree with her more about humans ruining things, after what the Federation had done to both his homeland and the land of his ancestors. He tried to curb the harshness to his tone, though, as he continued, "If you wish to claim this place as your home despite its origins, I have no complaints. All I ask is that you grant the two of us passage so I can enjoy this chance to see such a wondrous landmark of Lost Jerusalem with my own eyes."

D'arcmon scoffed at Jin's comment. The Digimon had been around long enough and seen enough humans to not believe that much to be true. Her brow raised and she gave a laugh. "Do you not hear yourself now? What lies you tell!" She continued to snarl, her lips curving upwards, "you say I may claim this land as my home and then that I should grant you passage through my home? I do not take orders from you humans. Leave that to your disgrace of digimon partners."

Raising herself, the Digimon stretched her wings. "I've been kind enough to grant you this much," she continued, "one more step and it will be your last."

"What lies? If I'd laid claim to such a place, I would be happy to allow visitors who promised peace. Such beauty as this is a rare treasure, to be protected from those who would defile it but not hidden away from others who might appreciate its true worth."

He shifted his stance, preparing to move at the slightest hint of an attack.

"If you take this place as yours alone, what makes you any better than the humans who would do the same?"

Veemon backed up and clenched his fists, looking as expectant of an attack as his partner.

"Oh boy...I'm not sure saying that was such a good idea, Jin. She doesn't really seem like the reasonable type to me."
