Home again, home again
Who: Hiccup, Fearless, and YOU!
What: Hiccup and Fearless have been lost for two weeks and just found their way back
When: July 28th
Where: Near the Terminal Building
[Not far from the Terminal building, a figure can be seen slowly making its way into the more central part of town. With every few steps they take there's a loud, grating squeaking sound, the groaning of rusted metal. After making it so far they stumble slightly and manage to catch themselves on a nearby light post, deciding it's better to stand there and rest for a moment than to keep going.
Hiccup lets out a heavy sigh, the side of his face pressed against the coolness of the metal of the post. He lifts his head slightly when the two, small fins resting on his shoulders stir a bit, and a head pops up next to his own. It's not Fearless the Gomamon, however.
It's Fearless the Bukamon.]
...Nnn....Hiiic......can we stop now?....
No...for one we....we're lucky we finally found the town again, but two you're not even walking in the first place, Fearless..
[The Digimon lets out a groaning squeak of his own before dropping his head on Hiccup's shoulder, moaning as the viking gathers himself up and continues walking, slowly.]
I'm sooo hungry, Hic.....an' if I didn't fight off those wild Digimon you would'a been dead now anyway.....
[Hiccup just ignores that and keeps on walking, not stopping again until he reaches a bench, not far from the Terminal building. He all but collapses on it, turning to lie down lengthwise on it on his back with on arm over his eyes to shield them from the noonday sun. Fearless takes this opportunity to peel himself off Hiccup's back and drag himself onto his chest, where he flops on his belly with a dramatic, agonized groan.
They're both covered from head to toe with grime and look completely exhausted. Hiccup's tunic is somewhat torn, and his furry vest was stripped from him a long time ago to be tied around his waist. Hiccup's prosthetic leg is rusted to the point where it will barely move with him when he walks. One might be alarmed to see dried blood on the front of his tunic, but it appears to be from a gash on the palm of Hiccup's left hand, haphazardly bandaged up with a torn strip of the bottom of his tunic.
For the moment the pair just lie there on the bench, not really caring if anyone sees them or not.
[[OOC: Now in actual log format, since I'm sick and cannot brain properly.]]

He shifts a bit in Leatherhead's arms, grimacing.]
We....uh..
Lost in the wilderness, no food, no water, wild digimon. Paint a good enough picture?
no subject
[Impmon gives a cheeky wink for his own crack.
While he and Hiccup have had a rocky relationship, he still didn't see a reason why he couldn't be concerned. So the news, while alarming, is a bit of a relief.
He withdraws, toying with a loose bandage anxiously.]
I thought...I...scared you.
no subject
[That causes Hiccup to lift his head slightly, though after a moment he winces and lies back down again.]
You mean like.....scared me away?
[From town, even? Leatherhead could do a lot of things, but scare him away Hiccup's pretty sure he could never do, no matter what. Fearless might think differently, but he knows Leatherhead is good and his friend. He wouldn't deliberately hurt him, ever.]
no subject
What Leatherhead felt for his friends was...it felt like holding an egg with one hand. And he had to tread carefully lest he drop it and shatter that fragile friendship.]
You left after we talked in my room. I tried to call.
I thought...you hated me again.
[Pause.]
I would not blame you.
no subject
Frowning hard, Hiccup makes an effort to sit up, if only slightly. There's no way he's going to try to explain himself for that terrible incident now, but he sure will clear things up while he can.
At least, he'll give it a shot.]
No no no Leatherhead.....I couldn't...
[He pauses.]
..Things are ok between us, I promise. Nothing you could do would ever make me leave.
no subject
His fingers dawdling around each other, he takes a sharp inhale of breath.]
...as long as I do not get mad, I believe that.
[He just wants to be blunt.]
But...so long as I did not scare you off,it gives me a little relief.
no subject
S-sorry, sorry. ..I'm alright.
no subject
No, you are not. You must get home.
no subject
...Don't think I'm going to be able to walk any farther like this, big guy....
no subject
I dunno who's crazier, your partner or mine.
[Eventually Leatherhead breaks his strange little meditation, finally speaking.]
...I can help you home.
no subject
[Hiccup gives Leatherhead a bit of a sidelong glance. He'd appreciate the help, but he's unsure himself.]
I think I could walk part of the way, as long as I had someone to lean on. It's just starting to ache, since it won't move.
[He explains, gesturing to his prosthetic.]
no subject
He catches a glimpse of Hiccup's leg. Often he's only marginally aware of it, knowing full well how people injure themselves in combat. But it brings a little pang of empathy to see that Hiccup must have been in something like he went through.
But now wasn't the time. Leatherhead began to reach out and offer his hand to Hiccup, the bandages still wrapped around them.]
Lean on me.
no subject
With his other arm he scoops Fearless up and drapes him over one shoulder.]
Hang on, bud.
[...For a moment, Hiccup pauses, mildly surprised at himself. That actually just...slipped out. He's never called Fearless anything but Fearless, or Gomamon, previously. He can't tell if that little slip is good or not.
..that nickname's reserved for Toothless. No one else.
Still, he'll think about that later. For now, he needs to focus on getting home.]
no subject
Don't think Leatherhead missed that, though he couldn't really decipher what it meant. He just looked down at the viking.]
Are you ready?
[Impmon just followed behind, still in a bit of a pouty mood. Impmon was bored and didn't feel like hanging around this sob fest...even though he had a begrudging obligation to the big guy.]
no subject
[Hiccup nods slightly, leaning on his prosthetic experimentally. It's still holding up his weight, but it's painful all the same. Leatherhead offering himself as a walking cane of sorts is extremely helpful though, allowing Hiccup to hobble on his other leg.]
Just get me somewhere inside, and....I'll figure something out from there.
no subject
[Leatherhead takes Hiccup along, going at whatever pace was comfortable for the viking. His eyes followed Hiccup's gait, noticing the pain that goes through him.]
...the pain must be unbearable.
no subject
[That probably sounds terrible, but it's not, really. The worst pain was the initial loss of his leg to begin with. Everything else from then on has just been unfortunate bumps in the road.]
no subject
You have a great will...
[Seriously, you live through a lot of shit.]
no subject
Thanks, Leatherhead. ...I could say the same thing about you.
no subject
It is the only thing that has kept me alive.
[Take that as you will.]
no subject
It's a good thing it has kept you alive, then. You know how to survive.

..No kidding..
