She gets to work at baiting the line.
"If you can't afford one, maybe you should get a job."

Food... That made catching fish even more of an imperative for her, man.

"H...have you been getting on alright around here?"

"There's at least the concept of parallel worlds where I come from," Waver explained, "but it's supposed to take magic on the level of a miracle to travel between them. As far as I've heard there's only ever been one person powerful enough to do it at all."

A bite on her line interrupts their conversation. Terra starts to pull it, but jeez, it's a big one, feels like.
no subject
"D--do you need help with that?" he offered, like the 5'2" teenager would have been able to lift more than a stack of books.

"Just how big is this thing?!"

"How much do you think we'll get for it? Come on, come on..." Another might tug, punctuated by a shot joke.
The fish isn't giving, but it looks like it's close to the surface, if the bubbles rising are any indication.

Another tug, and something breaks the water.
...Something bigger than expected. It's as large as a full-grown adult, maybe six feet, and looking incredibly mad, with the hook from the fishing pole somewhere deep in its mouth. It's not a fish, it's a Coelamon.
"...Oh."
That's just about all Terra has time to say before Coelamon yells Water Bullet! and a ball of high-speed water shoots from its mouth and collides with her. It's about the size of a basketball, but at that distance and that speed? Oh, it's more than enough to make her loose her grip on the pole and fall back to begin with, dazed.

"Wizardmon, do something!" The somewhat exasperated Digimon gave a sigh and brandished his staff to direct an Electro Squall at Coelamon as Waver turned to check on Terra. "H-hey, are you alright?!"
no subject
The Coelamon screeches at the electricity attack, shaking its head. Looks like the line's still stuck somewhere in its mouth, because the fishing pole goes flying all over. How's that thing not broken already?!
"Iron Scale!" Tiny scales shoot off Coelamon's body toward Wizardmon, and toward the Chosen on the pier.

Waver looked to his equally battered partner and then to the fishing pole, an idea quickly starting to form in his head.
"Wizardmon--see if you can cut the line and get that thing out of his mouth!" His partner acknowledged the idea with a slight nod, next burst of lightning aimed at the fishing line more than Coelamon itself.

Coelamon coughs, chokes, and it looks like shoots another Water Bullet-- but no. It's a small sphere of red light, with a tag and crest, that for all intents and purposes looks to have been grabbed by the hook. The Coelamon in response appears dizzy, but still angry.
The crest stops in front of Waver. It's his crest, the Crest of Tenacity.

Of anything that could have happened, that was not something Waver expected. Forgetting for just a moment what the current circumstances were, he responded with a dumbfounded look and a confused statement. Sure, he knew what crests were, but honestly? He hadn't expected one to show up himself.
But he swallowed hard and forced back his doubts, reaching out and taking the crest with a hand that shook only slightly. When he looked back up to Coelamon, it was with a serious and resolute expression.
"...I'm sorry--we weren't trying to cause you trouble. I don't know about Wizardmon, but I don't want to fight you if I can help it. Do you think you can let us off easy just this once?"
no subject
Rubbing her head, Terra stands, only a little bit stiff and sore...all things considered. "S-sorry!" She calls after Coelamon, and the splash of water on the edge of the pier is the only indicator that he hears.
"Okay...fish that big, let go... But wow, lookit that." Terra smiles at Waver. "You got yourself a crest."
no subject
Wizardmon degenerated back into Palmon, jumping up to latch onto Waver's back and look over his shoulder, remarking: "You're probably just tougher than you look, y'know?"
"I-I'm not-I mean, I'm...are we sure this is mine?"

"N...never mind that. You're not hurt or anything, are you?" Waver was pretty sure he was bruised to hell after that, or that he'd at least be feeling like he'd been run over tomorrow morning.
