What: It wasn't much of a story, more like a means to an end.
When: The night of Aug 15th
Where: Tokyo Tower
The stars twinkling in the night sky almost seemed to be laughing at Jinx as she raced through the night in a torn black dress and coat.
Her hair fluttered behind her dramatically as she weaved her way through black and white buildings with Noir hot on her heels. He flew surprisingly fast for someone so unaerodynamic.
"Tell me what you stole!" He barked as they clumsily dodged around a trash can and heard the shouting of pursuing mobsters on their heels.
"I swear I haven't stolen anything since this stupid event started except for a couple of bits and this stupid poker chip!" She drew it out of her bra and shook it at Noir who nabbed it studying it carefully.
"Why in the digital world would there be such a fuss about this chip?"
"Beats me!" Jinx snatched it back, "But it's the only other thing I've stolen this week."
"This week." He rolled his eyes as Tokyo Tower came into view.
"So you're telling me..." Noir panted as they raced for the base of the tower. "That these Digimon are trying to kill you, and have killed some mob boss all because of a poker chip?!"
She tucked the chip back in her bra and shrugged. "What do you want me to say? That I'm a murderer? That I stole some expensive diamond? Well I didn't you suspicious pig!"
"Yeah, sure you didn't!" Noir spat as she slowed her run to a trot. They were almost there, almost in the clear.
"Why are we even here?" He thought to ask pushing his fedora back up out of his line of sight."
"Because while YOU were out playing detective and leaving me alone to get chased around the city, I was contacted by the daughter of the Don I apparently killed. She wants to meet and clear this all up."
Noir's eyes boggled and he almost fell out of the sky. "And you don't think perhaps this is a trap!?"
Jinx smirked, "I know it is. But I want to know who's behind all this and that means using whatever I've got. Which right now consists of this lead, a ripped dress, a poker chip, and you...for whatever you're worth."
"Well thank you Ms. Exposition." He growled.

"Not yet, but give me time. You might get there before I do." She twirls the knife menacingly between her fingers.
"I'm not totally sure but I'm willing to bet a drop like this would even kill a digimon. Especially a low level one like you."
She sits up a little but winces and opts to remain leaning against the support beam.
"I get it. You're a small fish with big ideas and plans. A woman of ambition. I can admire that." A dark bitterness in your voice "You saw what you wanted and worked out the easiest way to get it. Just happened to be my bad luck that I got twisted up in your plans."
Meanwhile Noir was laughing with glee at finally evolving. Of course in his new Soulmon form that laugh was haunting and bellowing and echoed through the night sky. He drifted closer to Musyamon "Let's see what this does..." Tipping back his hat he revealed a pair of spooky glowing eyes activating his next attack "End Trance!"

"I am not low level! I am the future leader of Don Chuumon's gang! I did not kill the little rat to be bested by a human!"
She thrashes; entirely not the seemingly composed Digimon she looked like.
The attack sends a beam at Musyamon and he snaps in and out of a trance in quick succession, entirely disoriented. He drops the sword. He's entirely open.

"Whoops..." He peered down watching the sword spin.
It missed Renamon by inches and Jinx chuckled holding up her D-terminal and playing back Renamon's confession.
"I am not low level! I am the future leader of Don Chuumon's gang! I did not kill the little rat to be bested by a human!"
With a few strokes of her long graceful fingers a message was drafted to the police department.
"Now I'm not in the habit of ratting out other criminals. Especially good looking ones. But you really hurt my feelings trying to kill me."
The knife flipped in her hand again and she took a moment to steady her breathing. She was running out of steam fast. Still recording she continued.
"Now I know some of the cops are dirty, but what are your chances of getting spring if I send this message to every single cop and goody good hero in the city? Or maybe even some of the not-so-goods who had a good relationship with the don? Or maybe those who might want to step into that power vacuum you've created?"

Musyamon rises futilely, without his sword, and he yells out in anger, as his lady is in danger. He leaps at Jinx in a rage.

"Noir!" She cried out flinching as she prepares to be tackled from the window.
But as Musyamon sails across the empty space between Jinx's perch and the broken window Noir appears floating next to the bodyguard and a decaying rotted hand slides out from under his sheet.
"Necro Chop!"

"What I want, is my name cleared. I want everyone off my case. The cops, the bounty hunters and the criminals. You make sure everyone knows not to mess with me anymore."
And then she smirked.
"And to make up for all my pain and suffering? I want your bar. You can still work there but I want to own it." She had never owned a business before and didn't intend on changing anything really, just skimming a cut of the profits.

But she's hanging upside-down from Tokyo Tower by one foot, so it's not like she can really ask for anything, can she?
"...A good mobster knows when to make a deal. You've won this time...girl."

"I think we all learned a valuable lesson here." She declared in soft smug victory. She tried to sit up and winced however.
"Now, Noir put the nice lady up where she's safe so she can go get my new deed. Then you and I have a trip to the hospital to sort out."
"You got it doll!" Noir grinned equally as wicked still riding the rush of evolution. He scooped up Renamon delicately in his arms.
"No hard feelings babe." He tipped his hat and winked at her with glowing eyes.
Meanwhile Jinx relaxed leaning against the support beam of the tower and gazing down at the lights of Pallet town below her.
She was a bad girl...but she wasn't ruthless. Not yet. She'd come out of this deal with some scars yes but in the end she'd come out on top.
Too bad no one was around to appreciate it half as much as she and Noir would as soon as she was safely bandaged up.
For now she was just another story among hundreds in a city that never sleeps. A city of data and darkness, of love and loss.
This city called Terminal Tokyo.
