Who: Harry, his Biyomon, and anyone passing by
What: Harry desperately trying to make his wand work while Biyomon judges him silently.
When: Thursday afternoon
Where: Somewhere in the city, near a bench.
All in all, today's events hadn't made him like apparition any more. Even if it wasn't Dumbledore or apparition's fault that he had suddenly found himself in some weird supposedly digital world, where he was chose again for something, he still couldn't help but file it all as "Yet another reason why I prefer flying", well above the physical discomfort in terms of annoyance.
But that wasn't his main concern now. No, what worried him right now, was the fact that his magic was gone. How, he had no idea. All he knew what was his spells weren't working; his wand sat on his hand as he cast them as just a useless stick. This, more than anything worried him, and he was determined to trying everything to get his wand to work, no matter how many times the giant pink bird that had identified itself as a "Biyomon" that had been following him since he got here told him it probably wouldn't work no matter what he did.
So that was what Harry was doing, staring at a can he had been trying to do anything to, from levitating it to enlarging it, face scowling in concentration, while Bioyomon looked at him with a mixture of silent judgement and exasperation.
Ignoring the bird, he quickly points his want at the can and mutters "Engorgio."

"Glad you like it dude! I'm a vegetarian because back home I could turn into any animal. You kind of loose the taste for hamburger once you've been a cow ya know?"
"I still don't get it." Rita commented politely moving her guitar so there was plenty of room on the sofa.
"Anyway." Beastboy dug around in a small fridge and approached with cans of some strange Japanese soda...or was it juice? Who knew? Either way he held them out to Harry and his partner.
"So have you guys been given the rundown yet? I'm one of the chosen who have been here the longest so if you have an questions..."

Harry lightly rolled his eyes at Biyomon's comment, partially because it wasn't all him... Although he admittedly would have stuck mostly to the part about where he'd live if Biyomon hadn't made him read everything else too.
"Yeah, I got around to reading it... Is there anything else I should know?"
no subject
Rita sipped her own juice box, "Did it talk about how to evolve and battle together?"
no subject
Biyomon picked up the D-Terminal immediately and showed it to Harry.
"She means digivolving. See, it's right here in the letter."
"It is, but it doesn't explain much."
"Ah, you're right..."
no subject
"It's nothing too stressful. It's all about emotions you see."
Beastboy slid his own Pizza onto a plate and unplugged the hotplate so it could cool.
"See it's like this. You and your partner are connected right? Your emotions? Give them strength. So if you feel good emotions like...courage..."
"Or righteous fury."
"Hope."
"Or love."
"Then that fuels your partner with enough strength to grow into a larger more powerful form." Rita finished. "When Beastboy and I are together and need to fight, I draw on his emotions and become Kabukimon."
Beastboy cracked the tab on a can of soda and took a swig before continuing. "The power doesn't last for long, and if you get taken out then the power is cut off so your Mon only has a few minutes of juice before they turn back."
no subject
... Actually, now that he thought about it...
"Who are we supposed to be fighting? The letter doesn't say."
no subject
Beastboy makes a face and wiggles his fingers to indicate how spooky the situation is.
"Yeah, we dunno what's creating them but we go out on missions to gather information so that the big brain who wrote that intro for you can figure this all out."
Rita tented her claws looking deep in thought.
"Of course, not all conflict should be resolved with force...but the infected Digimon don't make it any easier. Then there are larger, smarter Digimon who have attacked the city for one reason or another."
Beastboy on the other hand looked like the whole thing was a game to him "Like that time we were in that Go-Kart competition with Petermon and his Girlfriend?" He laughed and explained further, "We were having a glitch...oh remind me to explain those later. Anyway These dudes, Petermon and...what's her name-"
"Tinkermon."
"Right! Tinkermon. So these dudes came out of no where and decided that apparently we weren't protecting the city enough. That we were just goofing off and having fun and that little kid Digimon were getting hurt. So they challenged us to a Go-kart battle. We totally kicked their butts, but they were sore losers so they brainwashed the little kid digimon into attacking us, and then bribed some big super sized Digimon to do the same. Rita and I had to throw down hard with some of them. But we beat them back and saved the city!"

There really wasn't much to say. He was really more concerned with processing what he'd just heard. He wasn't sure how he felt about doing missions for some unknown 'big brain', even if it was just to gather information.
Although now that he thought about it...
"Does all that have anything to do with those... Dark Fields and Lotusmon I heard about?"
no subject
"We've never been in one ourselves." Rita added.
"But Lotusmon is a big bad. Too strong for any one of us to handle on our own. Too strong for even a couple. It'll take a group and it'll have to be quick if we wanna take her down." He continued. "We dunno if she's "The" big bad though or just a lower level. With our luck I'm guessing number two."
no subject
He briefly wondering if any Dementors could be brought here. He supposed not; only people that had been chosen had, right? So unless a Dememtor had been somehow chosen and a Digimon partner of their own... The image was too ridiculous to entertain.
"What about glitches? What're those?"
no subject
"Some peoples memories or personalities were altered to fit with the theme." Rita explained. "And for a week people were detectives, criminals, crooked cops and so on." One of Rita's favorite memories actually.
"There was this one glitch that turned the whole city into a race track and gave everyone go-karts. That was pretty great." Beastboy grinned fondly.
"And then there was that one that turned you into a huge jerk." Rita pouted.
"Hey everyone was acting weird. And that worked out because it made Terra admit she still had feelings for me."
no subject
Probably not.
"How... How often do-"
"Want the last piece?"
"What?... No." Harry took a moment to get his bearings back after Biyomon's interruption. "The glitches... How often do they happen?"
no subject
"And they usually last a week." He added before burping and laughing at the sound. Rita just looked embarrassed and buried her face in her paw.
no subject
"The letter did tell you the Digital World was in trouble."
Well... That was true. If there was a sign that a place was in trouble, that was certainly it. Harry was silent for a moment he spoke again. "Is there anything else, or is that more or less it?"
no subject
"Did they tell you about not dying? I mean...we haven't tested the theory because...who'd do that? But this guy died a few weeks ago and came back in like... Hours."
"We think it's because everyone here is made of data. When a digimon dies we turn into an egg and are reborn in time."
no subject
"Hum... I wonder why..."
"Maybe they don't want everyone trying crazy things just because."
"Ooh, that makes sense!"
no subject
"It does make it a little easier to go rushing into battle without my powers though." He commented idly.
no subject
no subject
"Did you have powers back home?" Rita inquired curiously.
