What: Turtles 16th Mutation Day Party

When: September 29th, evening.

Where: Newbie Apartment Lobby

It had taken him a good few hours, but at last Donatello had finished setting up everything for the party. He had gotten everything that he felt was needed, snacks, party favors, decorations, working in a general store really paid off sometimes. He was expecting Mikey to bring the cake and most likely a bunch of other things since it was Mikey and all

Donnie gave everything one last look over, holding Paolo's digiegg tightly in his arms and wrapped in a purple blanket. To be honest, he hadn't planned to do anything for his Mutation Day. Not only because he had originally been alone, but after all that happened with the Black Out he hadn't felt that great. He was also feeling a little under the weather since he woke up, nothing too bad but he wasn't feeling great. He really just wanted to go back to bed.

But now that Mikey was back and since he had practiaclly begged them to, Donnie would go with the party. As long as Mikey was happy, hencould live with feeling a tad sick. That's all that mattered.

Mikey returned the high five, grinning like a megawatt bulb.

"Thanks dude! You are awesome." He said, that is until the bag was offered. He stared at it a moment, looking thunderstruck, he knew gifts were a birthday thing, but he hadn't even been thinking about getting anything for mutation day, so it came as quiet a surprise.

"I... thanks... I don't know what to say... s-sorry, this is the first time someone outside the family's given me anything... except for when Leatherhead trusted us with that power cell but that was different."

"Mikey, why don't you open it, so Beastboy can see your reaction?" Leader prompted, redirecting the teen from his amazement into action.

"Oh, right!" He said, reaching out to accept the gift so that he could start opening it.

Inside the package was a stack of superhero comics, some in Japanese, others in English. The thickest collection is ten books labeled "Captain Carrot" with a rabbit wearing a superhero costume and flanked by some other superheroic looking animals.

"Happy M Day dude! If anyone could appreciate those books I knew it'd be you!"

Mikey grinned happily at them then at Beastboy, reaching out and snagging the other into a hug again.

"Thanks, I'm gonna read these forever! Especially Captain Carrot!" He said as he let Beastboy go again. He then pointed toward the table with his thumb. "There's plenty of food, and I even made one of the cakes."

Beastboy hugged back laughing, and at the promise of cake his ears perked up.

"Really? Dude sweet! Literally! Which one did you make? I'll try that first!"

The one with the turtles on it!

[The teen pointed to a cake with chocolate frosting with little turtles designed onto the side and some weapons, one type for each of the brothers, on the top, along with the words 'Happy Mutation Day'. He was beaming with pride at it.]

I'm so happy this year it's actually a real cake!

[Beastboy slides over as smooth as can be and picks himself a slice popping it into his mouth as he asks]

Why? What sort of cake do you usually have?

[Mikey waits for Beastboy to finish what's in his mouth before responding, having learned that most people didn't find their original diet all that comforting.]

Algae and worms.

[Beastboy does look a slightly greener shade of green now]

Dude worms? Yuck!

[He swallows hard]

Then again...I guess you are turtles...but aren't you glad you have more options now?

[Mikey just shrugged for a moment before lighting up with a smile.]

Totally, I mean we only ever had that until we discovered Pizza, food has taken on a whole new level since then.

Ohhh pizza.

[A happy sigh]

The parlor here is good. But it's no Zippy's pizza dude! They make the best soy cheese!

[Mikey echos that sigh.] Yeah, pizza.

Soy cheese? What's that all about?

Oh! Well like, I'm a vegetarian right? So I don't eat meat because it's cruel to animals and stuff. And milk and cheese are made from milk and milk comes from cows which are also usually not treated so great. So I go with Soy cheese and Soy milk. It's made from soy beans and it's every bit as good as the real stuff even better so don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Uh huh...sure it is.

Huh... Sounds like it would be worth trying at some point. I say you never know what you'll like till you try it!

Besides, if it's on Pizza it can't be bad.
