[It had been a while since Laguna had been out and about...not since Dante's party to be specific. Perhaps it had been the regeneration of his arm, but he'd been feeling overly sluggish since that night and had spent most of his days either in bed or trying to work himself back into decent shape. Today however his arm was finally back in all of its arm-y glory and he was feeling absolutely fantastic! With a newfound pep in his step and his smile now firmly set in place, Laguna took his first step out of his apartment in a long while.

It might have been nothing but a digital world...but today just seemed absolutely perfect. The sun was shining, the heat was mild, there was a steady breeze to keep everything comfortable, and everything just smelled like fall; he could hardly think of a better time of year. So without a care in the world and Raine right behind him, he began to walk aimlessly around the Teriminal, simply content with enjoying the day at hand.]

"Man, it feels good to be out and about again! I'm glad I shook off that funk before I missed all this awesome weather."

""Me too...I'm just glad you're alright now Laguna!"

"Heh...sorry about that, I'll be more careful from now on, don't you worry."

It has its positives and negatives. Speaking of, you heal up okay?

[Last Laguna checked, Squall hadn't exactly been in tip top shape himself; though looking at his prior stride, he seemed to be more or less back up to snuff.]

That healed a while ago.

[ He frowned and watched Laguna, observing his facial expressions and everything. Why did this guy care? Was it because he was the "chosen one"? Is that all anyone from their own cared about? ]

Good to hear, good to hear! Without you and Seifer's help; I'd probably have been in a much worse position, so I'm glad you came out of it no worse for the wear.

[Squall had seen to his safety at risk to himself after all...it would have made him feel terrible if Squall had been left with a lasting injury because of that.]

[innermonologues]

It's not like I'm not used to getting injured, and Seifer deserves more of the thanks.

You do too, but speaking of I should probably thank Seifer personally as well; you seen him around at all lately?

[innermonologues]

No. I haven't seen him at all. I'm not his keeper.

[ he frowns and gives Laguna a look. ]

Fair enough, just thought I'd ask. Anyways, it was good seeing you around, I'll uh...get out of your hair, don't wanna waste your day here. Give your partner a Hi for me, would ya?

[Not that he'd expected much of the conversation to begin with, but Squall seemed more off his mood than usual today and Laguna found that prying into his personal affairs usually ended poorly; sometimes it was best to leave sleeping lions where they lay after all.]

[innermonologues]

.... Seriously? That's it? You ask me about Seifer and you decide to leave?

[ His eyes sharp and annoyed. ]

Fine. Whatever.

Well, not for nothing but normally you're happy to get me up and gone. I can hang around if you want though, I ain't got not pressing matters for the day and believe it or not, you're interesting company.

[This was something strange indeed; all the time it felt like Squall was pushing for an end to the conversation...but now he seemed upset? He wouldn't deny him if he wanted to hang out more...but it seemed rather sudden.]

[innermonologues]

If I was such interesting company for you you wouldn't be asking for other people.

[ He snaps back and turns on his heel. ]

Hey now, to be fair I asked about you first.

[Laguna put his hands on his hips and sighed; first the kid doesn't want anything to do with him and now he's getting up in arms because he asked if Seifer was around...he almost sounded like Raine during her times of the month.]

Look, I'm sorry. Its been a while since I've been out and about so my tact is a little rusty; it was my bad.

[innermonologues]

You're right. It was your bad.

[ He still sounds pretty annoyed, but his shoulder's aren't as hunched back as they were. He didn't like the fact that he mentioned Seifer. Everyone always asked him how Seifer was or where was Seifer. Seifer wasn't the only one around okay. He wasn't!]

Would it make you feel better if I took you out for a bite to eat? My treat?

[He'd been planning on going out for food anyways...and perhaps Squall would like something as well; he certainly didn't mind paying for him either...even if he wasn't in such a bad mood.]

[innermonologues]

Whatever.

[ He shoves his hands angrily into his pockets and waits for Laguna to start walking. ]

So...been up to anything interesting since the party?

[Laguna didn't know quite how to start the conversation, especially considering Squall's mood at the moment. He seemed definitely off from his usual brooding self, but that seemed like a barrel of monkies that was best left untouched, at least for the moment at any rate]

What part of me looks like someone who does things interesting?

Your facial expression, your posture, the way you move, you lack of eye contact, the way you seem completely disinterested in your surroundings. All traits shared by someone who's on his way to do something both important and secretive, and mystery as we both know, breeds curiosity.

[As he tallied off Squall's traits and mannerisms, he kept his tone casual; he wasn't trying to insult Squall after all, these were just some casual observations he'd picked up over the years.]

Also the jacket. People who wear Leather usually do so for its durability; something indicative of an active and interesting life.

[ He seemed to slightly calm down just a bit but he is really confused right now as he listens to Laguna continue to rattle off descriptions. ]

.... I just... like the jacket?

Oh I know that, but to someone who doesn't know you, they just have to go off on first impressions. People who tend to travel a lot wear leather because it doesn't rip easily, keeps in warmth better...especially in black might I add, and once its broken in it gives all of those things with relative ease of movement. So based on that, without even having met you, I could tell you're someone who's been around...and as a SeeD, that's actually pretty accurate, right?

[He might not look it...or act like it sometimes, but his years both in the military and as a president had lent well to his powers of observation. It just had to be a conscious process...something he still had trouble with if he was being honest.]

[innermonologues]

....I guess that's somewhat accurate...

[ He gives Laguna a weird look as he shoves his hands back into his pockets. He was sporting a new jacket too, but this one hasn't been broken in much yet. Not to mention he still felt kind of weird in it because he apparently likes his clothing to fit him tightly and this jacket wasn't all that tight at all. Still cool though. ]

Why have you been observing me?

I haven't been meticulously recording every little thing about you if that's what you mean; these are just little things I've picked up in our time together, just little mannerisms of yours. Likely anyone you talk to would be able to draw the same conclusions I have, which is probably why you draw so many people to you; they wanna get to know the man behind the mystery.

[Laguna afforded himself a small chuckle, but more directed towards his statement than at Squall's expense. His mystery was drew people to him...but once they got past the hardened exterior, they found a stalwart friend worth staying around; even if Squall himself didn't think so.]

( So recording every little thing isn't a good thing? That's exactly what I've been doing for everyone I talk to. Even you. Is that weird or something? )

[ Do what? Squall you have to be more clear with your words sometimes. ]

You do...?

[Laguna wasn't quite sure about that reaction...what exactly was he saying that in reference to? Did he want people to take the time to get to know him? Did he want to get to know himself? Hopefully Squall would illuminate the matter for him.]

[His tone was non-judging, some people did keep mental notes of the people they met or knew; it wasn't bad or wrong, it just wasn't how he went about his own affairs.]
