weep little lion man, you're not as brave as you were at the start.
Who: Cam, Maya, and YOU, aka open in a little
What: A Dark Digivolution in the making.
When: Friday, October 18th, afternoon
Where: Crest of Courage training area, likely other places later.
It's been a really long and trying week so far.
For the last few days, because everything seems to be going weird, Cam's been trying to train. His ribs are healed, and in fact they healed faster than they probably should've; something good to this world, and it made him think -- maybe he should be getting back to it, to routines and workouts. After all, Lucette's strong, strong enough to reach Ultimate. And sure, first he tried the public training area, but he might have almost picked a fight with a Gabumon in the area, so Lucette had recommended they keep to the one in the Crest of Courage district.
So then fine, that's what they've been doing. As Seasarmon, she's run drills and laps, and Cam's worked himself to exhaustion. Every time she tries to suggest taking a break, he snaps, he shakes his head, he grumbles, there're dangerous people out there, and he keeps going and tells her to get back to work too.
Only when she gets so tired that she de-digivolves does he give her a break, and in one of those she'd had enough, sneaked away with his D-Terminal to the only help she can think of and sent a message to Maya.
Campbell is acting weird. crest of courage training. maybe you can help him. message when you're here.
...so she'd written, since poor Maya couldn't even get into the district without a Crest of Courage holder. Lucette herself could get in fine, so maybe if she can sneak off at the right time...
She keeps the D-Terminal and keeps to the side, watching as Cam does runs, wearing those roller-skates that had done him so much good months and months back. He's sweating and breathing hard, but he keeps quietly cursing himself every time he starts to stop or slow. After the first day of this... Well, Lucette's very much aware that whatever she says, he won't listen.
Maybe Maya will have more luck.

The Holy Ring indeed hurts. ShadowWereGarurumon chokes and growls, but she tries to bite down at Tailmon's tail, at the tiny Digimon, on reflex. As Kyubimon's muzzle grips on to her arm, it allows for a bit of leeway for Tailmon, as ShadowWereGarurumon cries out, more from frustration than pain; either way, it might prevent the small Champion from getting snapped at or bitten by those entirely too-big jaws.
...Though with Kyubimon on her arm, ShadowWereGarurumon's angry now, angrier than before. She throws it out with her incredible strength, intending to drag Kyubimon across the ground, away, toss her off or just slam her into the ground.

As it was, though, even with her Holy Ring's help, Tailmon didn't have much of a chance- Those jaws were strong. Still, with the cries, Tailmon took her chance- She had to wriggle out, so she was trying to squeeze past those sharp fangs as quickly as she could.

The fling came at the same time, tossing her off a fair bit farther than intended. She skidded to a stop, not even done landing before Ed's shouted again. "CHARGE!"
A brief nod as she dashed towards the dark digimon. The goal was to get out Tailmon.
Ed's solution? "Ram it headfirst, aim for the solarplexus!" The Heimlich maneuver.
Kyubimon lowered her head and gave it her all, hoping to give aid to her comrade.

The response is instantaneous. ShadowWereGarurumon chokes out Tailmon, propelling her like a jet through the sky. She takes a moment to compose herself, coughing and, in a blind rage, swinging her claws to swipe the flying cat, over and over. It may not hit anything, but there's a lot of power behind the blows. She stumbles forward, in her assault...toward Alex.

She grips her Crest tightly and closes her eyes. Gazimon, someone, help!
With that, the crest glows. Not the normal maroon of the Crest of Desire, but a bright, burning white. The glow engulfs the flying Tailmon, who begins to grow, but the light renders her too bright to look at.
"Tailmon, evolve! Angewomon!"
Before the light fades, Angewomon has already arrested her momentum mid-air, pointed her wrist at ShadowWereGarurumon and begun to launch a barrage of arrows between it and Alex.

Kyubimon started backing away slowly. "If that is your wish--but are you not wanting to support her?"
"That's not her usual Bastemon. Something bad's going to happen--leave it to Alex to somehow mess up and get an angel."
For now, the two simply observe.

That attack finally does some noticeable damage. ShadowWereGarurumon snarls and winces, sparked by the pain and angered, taking one, two, three steps back. Kyubimon is gone from her sights as Angewomon appears, and all her focus lays on the angel Digimon.
Of course, a stronger assault would probably come from long-distance attacks. ShadowWereGarurumon has none, and she's motivated by pure instinct and rage, so she charges through some of the arrows, and the rip scratches down her arms and into her clothes as she tries to barrel into Angewomon, despite the pain.

Alex, meanwhile, was staring up at her Digimon in a mix of wonderment and confusion. This... wasn't right, was it? Her partner wasn't supposed to be an angel. Her partner was the weird cat thing. What had happened to Gazimon?

"Get on. Angewoman's an angel-type. She should be strong against anything having to do with shadow, so she's going to wipe the floor with ShadowWereGarurumon. In the meanwhile, we should probably run."
If there was one thing Ed knew about (other than magic and Dark Fields), it was Dark Digivolution... And while the light from Alex's digivice was certainly not the same as the darkness that came out of his, he was willing to bet it was connected.
1/2
ShadowWereGarurumon runs right into the attack. It slams into her and she stumbles back, howling in definite pain. This is the first attack that's done anything, and now she struggles to fight back again, approaching, heading toward--
No. Wait. Something's happening.
2/2
The wolf Digimon is engulfed in light and starts to shrink, down, down, down to a very small size...to a Cupimon. She all but collapses, exhausted and injured, but she's still very much conscious.
"No... No, Maya-- and Campbell-- oh, no, what have I done...?"
