I feel charming, oh so charming~
Who: Laguna (
bewarethefaeries), and Saori (
needsteaplz)
What: Date Night, Date Night!
When: October 25th
Where: The newbie apartments, out about town, out to dinner, and maybe other things after~
[Well, here it was...Friday...6pm in the lobby of the newbie apartments... For all of his outwards confidence and general poise on the subject; it was one thing to make a plan with someone, and another entirely to be here going through with it. He was wearing a casually formal black suit he'd managed to find; nothing too fancy, he'd never been one for a tie after all, but he had gone to great lengths to make sure he looked above average for the evening. There wasn't a wrinkle to be found on his clothing, his shoes were shined to a glossy polish; he'd even fully brushed his hair back into a full ponytail instead of letting his bangs hang to the side as they normally did.
He was, as he did when he was nervous, pacing near the entrance as he waited; his shoes making a soft clicking noise against the tiled floor as he moved back and forth. His heart felt like it was going to pound its way out of his chest and every few seconds he was checking either his breath or his cologne; trying to make sure he had used enough, then trying to make sure he hadn't overdone it. He'd even got here about an hour early and had just been there pacing since; hoping against hope that he didn't accidentally screw this up. It had been a while since he'd been in the dating game and...he wasn't sure if he had it in him anymore. He wasn't quite sure he had it in him to begin with either...]
Oh man...oh mannnnn...please let this just go well...don't let me make a doofus of myself...>

Why the hell was she so nervous? It wasn't like she was out of the dating scene when she married Tenjou. They did agree to an open marriage after all. Then again, not many did share their open-mindedness. Whenever Laguna was around her, she couldn't help herself and be relaxed around with him. Her hands tightened around her clutch bag. She could only hope Laguna would be okay with who she was. The ping of the elevator snapped her out of daze as it came to a halt and the doors opened.
Her cheeks flared up at the sight. With his hair pulled back, he looked even more like Tenjou. And that suit. Curse her weakness with men in suits. She took a deep breath and walked towards him.]
Laguna! I didn't make you wait long, did I?

[Laguna stopped pacing as he heard Saori's voice and turned to greet her...only to see the most lovely sight he'd ever beheld in his life. Yes Raine and Julia had both been stunningly beautiful but... Saori, she was almost practically glowing! Everything about her set Laguna's heart aflutter, and then it hit him like a small train; a feeling he hadn't felt in a long, long time.
His leg locked up as if it had touched a live wire and without warning the man was down on his left knee as he held on to his right leg, his hands trying to work the tenseness out of it as he groaned lightly in pain.]
Ahh...leg cramp...

[She rushed over to him with a worried look on her face. Guren joked before she left the apartment that she could knock a man out with the way she looked. If he was here, he would be laughing with tears in his eyes.]
A-are you alright? How did that happen?
no subject
S-sorry about that, I always get leg cramps around beautiful women...its been that way for as long as I could remember and...
[He sighed and managed to look up, producing a bouquet of brightly colored flowers from underneath the back of his coat; holding them out to her with a small smile.]
You really do look lovely.
no subject
I...never heard of anyone who got leg cramps like that. I guess there's a first for everything. Are you sure you're going to be alright?
Oh!
[The flowers were quite a surprise and she happily accepts them. Nice save there.]
Oh, wow. Thank you!

[He let out a small chuckle and his smile grew, his initial nervousness fading now that he'd gotten it out of his system. That and Saori...well, she was just a generally non-judgmental person, and she really put him at ease; it helped him lighten up and be his usual self. With a small turn on his heel, he offered his arm to her and gave her a grin over his shoulder as he gestured towards the door.]
So, were shall we be going this evening madam~?
no subject
We're going over to Palette Town, east side. I know a place in there that'll be perfect for us. It's small, quiet, and of course has great food.

Ahhhh...don't you just love this time of the year? Everything just feels so...festive, you know?

She too took a breath of the air. Fall was full of memories good and bad. It was around this time, she had lost her father as a little girl and she lost her life as well. At the same time, it was the time she was reborn and found new strength in her. And now she was here. She didn't think she'd be sharing such an intimate moment like a date here.]
This time of the year is my favorite. The world celebrates before the cold comes in.

[Laguna adjusted his arm slightly to make his arm slightly more comfortable for Saori to lean her head against and smiled softly. He only had good memories of the Fall; everything bad that had happened to him oddly tended to fall around the Summer...Fall had always been kind to him in that regard. The weather was good, the food was great, and it brought company closer together...considering who he was with right now, his theory seemed all the more convincing.]
I remember one Fall, me and my buddies were up on the roof of our barracks having some lunch, and they decided they were going to play a prank on me. They got all up in a huff like they were arguing and Ward pushed Kiros off the roof before I could do anything; almost scared the brown right out of my hair! Turns out they'd made a giant pile of leaves at the bottom and I run to look over the edge, and I see Kiros squirming in the leaves like he was laughing, and Ward was on his side laughing too.
[He said as he sighed slightly and shook his head at the memory.]
Turns out leaves aren't quite as buoyant as most people think they are, poor guy broke two ribs and had to sit out service for three weeks. Serves him right if you ask me.

Only best friends would pull off these sorts of pranks on each other. Reminds me of stuff that happened back home with mine. Except it involved more racing on top of rooftops, secretly slipping in spicy sauce into foods, and the occasional prank now and then.
Oh, it's right over this bridge. We should be there soon. So, what have you been doing since the last time I met you?
no subject
[He said with a chuckle, remembering all of the good times he had with his own friends; though his face became more contemplative when Saori asked what he'd been up to since the party.]
As for what I've been up to...just the standard fanfare really. Exercising, getting back into shape, going for walks around with Raine, and just generally enjoying myself. How about you?
no subject
[She shakes her head and laughs. A minute or two later, she looked up a sign and opens a sliding door.]
Ah, here we go.
[ She leads the way and opens the door. It's a small Japanese style bar. Not a grungy hole in the wall, but a very clean establishment. The Gazimon behind the counter politely bowed to them.]
Ah, welcome! How a rare for you to bring someone with you, Master Saori. Please have a seat.
Thank you. After you, Laguna.
no subject
[He said with a nod as he was led into a small restaurant; not that Laguna had ever seen anything like it in his world, but it definitely looked like a nice, small place for two people to enjoy some good food together.]
Thanks, this place looks really nice, how'd you end up finding it around here? No offense but it's kinda out of the way compared to some of the other places.
[Because as everyone knew, the more out of the way a restaurant was, the better its quality usually was.]
no subject
[Saori got them a table and they sat down. Another Gizamon brought out some hot tea for them.]
Anything off the menu today?
Ah, how about we leave it to the chef. Within reasonable means, of course.
[She turns her attention to Laguna now that they're left alone.]
Well, whenever I'm a new place, one of the first things I do is to look for these hidden gems. I like to ask around locals on where to go or just simply walk around and see where the road takes me.
no subject
[It was certainly one way to discover a new place, it also netted him some free ice cream and a bag of ice; so in the grand scheme of things it wasn't that bad an experience.]
I think though just taking a walk around and talking to the people in the know would be a little safer...and less painful.
no subject
[She laughed sheepishly. A Gazimon comes back with two dishes.]
Alright, first dish is deep-fried tofu and eggplant in a dashi stock. Don't worry more dishes are on the way. Want some sake with your meal?
no subject
Yikes, sounds like back home was full of excitement, do things around here hold up in comparison?
[It was a simple question, one Saori could contemplate while Laguna nodded in response to the question about the Sake. He'd never had any before but it sounded alcoholic in nature; couldn't hurt to give it a try.]
no subject
[The Gazimon bowed and went back to the kitchen to retrieve more of their dinner.]
Well, it's much more quieter here I'll give them that. Of course that's only inside here. The farthest I've gone out is Primary Village. My roommate and some of the other children needed to pick up the digi-eggs with their partners inside.
[She snaps her own chopsticks apart and then a thought comes to mind.]
Oh right. I don't suppose you know how to use chopsticks, would you?
no subject
Chopwhatnows?
[The look on his face would be enough to tell her that not only did he not know how to use these utensils; he'd also never even heard of them before. This would be fun.]
