HOLIDAY ARRIVALS.
Characters: Everyone! (Only new arrivals are allowed in the Terminal Room)
When: Starting December 3rd, 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!
It has been a long November, and the weather is starting to get colder, a side-effect of the worlds merging. Maybe it's welcome, maybe it's a hindrance, but a rumble rises at the start of the day, signalling new Chosen are starting to arrive. Culumon bounces about the Terminal Room, lonely after waiting so long. Stepping outside, the Chosen will find a bit of a mess before them. The city's been through a lot lately.
Outside the Main Terminal, there is a bin with pamphlets to help supplement the information received on the new Chosen's D-Terminals. The information is...a little bit outdated, with last month's troubling reveals.
OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

Sophia's appearance is less strange than it might be, considering that Kit's never seen a human before. Third Earth is a good bit more diverse than some places, and thus the sight of a species you never met before isn't that remarkable. Not when compared to suddenly being drawn into a strange, unknown place through a tunnel of light, minus her brother.
Kit still isn't sure it's not some kind of weird dream; the past day had been pretty crazy and tiring, after all. But after talking to the cute little thing that called himself Culumon, finding the little machines on the table, and meeting this other girl, Kit's beginning to think that it's real. She has no idea how she'd dream all this up.
"Did you just get brought here too?", she asks the blonde girl.

She nods, her head huddled into her neck like a turtle's.
"I wanna go home," she murmurs. Her eyes hurt from all the crying, but somehow a talking kitty-girl is calming.

"This thing might tell us something," Kit adds, holding up the larger of the two devices she'd found on the table where Sophia could see it, flipping it open and causing the welcome message to come up. "See? It's got a message on it, but I... kinda can't read it." Kit looks a little embarrassed, admitting that. However, if she can't read it, maybe Sophia can?

Still, when Kit shows her the thing -- that looks like a toy, from before the walkers -- Sophia leans just a bit so she can see the words. See them, but not read all of them. She makes out a few words, First, sorry, I, Child-- and others, but all together she can't put everything together. In Alexandria, she'd kept learning how to read, but she wasn't very good at it. Not with all these words mixed in she doesn't know.
She curls herself up and looks down. "It says it's sorry. And it says it needs help. I can't read a lot of it either."

She then makes a thoughtful noise at what Sophia could make out of the message. "I think it's more likely that whoever wrote the message needs help than this thing," she says after a moment. "That little guy Culumon said that the 'Digital world' needs our help, so maybe this has something to do with that?"
"Oh, and when the thing with the message appeared, this was with it." She shows Sophia the small, oddly-shaped device. "Culumon said it's called a 'Digivice', I think, and that it'd help us and our partners get stronger. I'm... not sure how it's supposed to do that though." She turns it over in her hands a couple times, examining it. How's such a tiny thing supposed to help anyone get stronger?

Finally, she settles on a simple one. "What partners?" It's quiet and hesitant. As her tiny hands curl on the knees of her worn jeans, she wonders very much what's going on, where she is, and how she can get home.

"If they've been here awhile, though, maybe they know what that tunnel of light was, and how to find it again," she continues thoughtfully, folding her arms atop her bent knees, then resting her chin on them. It seems like a reasonable assumption to her, anyway. Not like they could know any less than Sophia and herself do, anyway.
"...Think we should go see?", Kit asks after a moment. "I mean, we can't just sit in this room forever, even if we wanted to." She gestures vaguely at the room, which is quite obviously devoid of food or water. Or of... anything much besides themselves, Culumon, and the table where the two small devices had appeared.

The partners. They could get them home? That's a much better thing than just sitting here. And, Sophia decides as she wipes off her face, she's had enough of just sitting and letting everything wash over her. She doesn't want to do that again. It's a little scary.
On slightly shaking legs, Sophia stands up and nods. She's timid, and she's not able to do much, but she does this nevertheless. "Okay. I gotta get one of those things too?"

"It's like a game..."

Kit steps up next to Sophia to get a better look. Sophia's bigger gadget is a different color from hers, but the other device looks about the same. Yet, somehow, she can tell them apart. It's very strange.
"Anyway, c'mon," she said. "Time to go meet our partners."

They step out into a much larger room that's clearly some sort of waiting area, with benches, several vending machines, and few potted plants, among other things. But before Kit really has a chance to take in her new surroundings, she's distracted by a puppy-like creature with a gold collar that comes bounding eagerly up to meet her.
"Hi, Wily-Kit!", the creature says, stopping in front of her. "I'm your partner, Salamon! It's good to finally meet you!"
Kit is somewhat aware that she should probably reply, but for a few moments, staring is about the best she can accomplish. When she finally does find her voice, the result isn't much, though. "You're my partner...?", she asks in disbelief. Whatever she had been expecting her partner to look like, this certainly wasn't it.
The little creature's smile falters a bit. "Yes," Salamon replies, a bit uncertainly. "Is something the matter?" The implication of that question is plain from the look in Salamon's eyes; 'Don't you like me?'
"Oh! No, no...", Kit says, crouching down to pat Salamon on the head reassuringly. "Nothing's wrong. I just... didn't expect you to look like this, is all."
It's then that she recalls Sophia, looking up to see if the other girl has found her partner yet.
