[Kit didn't regret coming to the party, in spite of the minor detail of not ever having met the person it was for. Ah well, she'd probly meet him at some point tonight. She'd already dropped off her gift- a loaf of fruit bread, wrapped in a nice white cloth and tied with a blue ribbon- and was now wondering what she should do first.
The food tables looked tempting, but so did a lot of the other things too. The music was a bit strange, compared to what she was used to, but she was finding that she liked it. Still, she didn't really feel like dancing just yet.
Idly, she smoothed out the skirt on her new dress. Ingredients for fruit bread hadn't been the only spoils of her trip to the marketplace a little while back. She'd also stumbled across a little second-hand store that wasn't only intact, but happened to have a clothing section. As a result, she now owned two t-shirts (both a size large, but they'd do), a pair of pajamas (light-purple with a pattern of yellow stars, missing the bottom button on the shirt), two pairs of pants (one gray, one lavender, since modified to have a hole for her tail), and a new dress.
Well, new to her, anyway; like the other clothes she'd gotten, it was a bit worn if you looked closely. But still, Kit now owned more clothing then she'd ever had before in her life, and since this was her first real, nice dress, she was going to wear it to her first real party in this new world. She wore the sweater Fluttershy had made her over it, for warmth, though, given that it was sleeveless. She'd even found matching purple ribbons to tie back her ears and tie a bow around Emerick's collar, and she carried a small basket with her. The basket contained a few smaller loaves of fruit bread that shed brought to share; Mamma had always said that it was rude to go to a party if you didn't bring something to share, so Kit had made sure to.
Looking around, most everybody seemed to be having fun... except for one older boy sitting by himself along the far wall. It was pretty easy to see why too; his leg was in a cast. It had to stink to be hurt like that while all your friends were having fun at a party.
Well, Kit knew just what to do about that! Plus, it solved the dillema of what to do first. Convenient!
She headed over to where the teenager sat, Emerick trailing at her heels.]

Hi! Mind if I sit here?
[She indicated the chair next to him.]
