Merry Christmas, Chosen...

Who: Venusmon, everyone
What: The giving of the D-Streams
Where: Terminal City, Roaming Park
When: December 25th, 2013, morning

At the stroke of midnight on December 25th, every Chosen and their partners fall asleep wherever they are, with nothing able to wake them. They won't stay there all night, however. Bright and early, as if turned on by a switch, the Chosen will awaken in their beds to find their Digivices missing. The individual Digimon -- those without rooms, brought in like the Chosen -- similarly fall into slumber or stasis, waking where the stand in the morning in the morning.

They will all wake up with a note in their rooms, written in beautiful script. "Come to Roaming Park," it says. There's some kind of noise outside. Something drawing everyone out. Noticeable first is the fall of snow, so far absent from Terminal Tokyo. It covers, among everything else, Roaming Park, where on a bench there sits a Venusmon, with a very large sack. Around her are tables full of all sorts of food, and Digimon there both partaking in it and setting up more. It's a whole feast, not spoiled by the weather, but enhanced by it.

[ooc: Below there will be a thread to interact with Venusmon, where she will answer some questions and give out the D-Streams. Every non-canon Digimon character will receive a D-Stream, whether they see her or not. At the end of the day, they will appear in the Chosen's hands. This can also be used to generally mingle with each other and enjoy the snow.]

For Bruce, it wasn't him who took the newly given D-Streams. That would be Floramon, who had went in Bruce's stead mainly because he wasn't that willing to go into a crowd and also because he felt he really didn't need it. He wasn't going to fight, after all, so why should he take one?

Floramon went, though, and Bruce, unwilling to just put his kindness to waste, accepted the D-Stream and was now glancing at it himself, studying and mentally attempting to dissect it. Electronics were not his forte, but he knew enough about them to have at least a basic knowledge of what to expect.

Transmitter, screen, slot in area... he thought to himself, going through the parts that would be needed to assemble one of these new D-Sreams when Floramon tugged at Bruce's sleeve and pointed eagerly at a seat near him. It only took Bruce a moment to look up and see who Floramon was pointing at - Tony and his Dorumon, who were also apparently here for the celebrations. Or the developments, either way.

Pocketing his new D-Stream for now, Bruce made his way over to his friend, a crooked smile on his face. "I didn't think you would be here," he spoke, once he was close enough for Tony to hear him.

Tony looks up at Bruce, then grins.

"Please tell me you have a screwdriver."

He shakes the D-Stream to point out why he was after a screwdriver.

"And, it wasn't my choice. Someone saw the snow and wouldn't quit annoying me until we came out here."

Dorumon looks pleased with herself.

"Merry Christmas, Bruce, Floramon!."

"Merry Christmas, Dorumon!" Floramon is more than glad to see Dorumon, apparently, and he runs to her with childish excitement. Bruce watches them for a moment before he looks up to Tony with an amused huff of his own.

"No screwdriver, sorry." He moves to take a seat besides his friend, fishing out his own new D-Stream as well. It looked pretty normal, certainly, but Bruce has heard enough about the Digivices to understand that there was more to these D-Streams than met the eye.

He turns towards Tony. "What do you think?" he asks, shaking his own D-Stream as well to make it obvious what he was asking about.

"Isn't all this snow great!?" She spins around kicking up snow with excitement.

Tony sighs when Bruce admits to not having a screwdriver, then glances at Dorumon, then drops the device on the table because there's no way he's getting anything back from her now.

"I think, I could have designed something better, with a touch interface and better algorithms. But it doesn't seem like anyone's coming to me about it any time soon."

He almost glares at it for a long moment before snatching back up again and flicking through it.

"Looks like it's got features that can't play with just yet either."

This annoyed Tony the most, because he didn't like not having access to things. For a silent moment in his head, he really truly longed for JARVIS about now.
amygdalae: I wish things could go your way (is that what you think?)

Bruce let out a small, amused sound at Tony sniping about the D-Streams, although he couldn't be too surprised - after making something like the Iron Man suits, having to handle something as seemingly low-tech as the D-Streams must be some sort of insult to him. It wasn't hard to understand where his frustration was coming from, when he looked at it from that angle.

He thought about it for a moment, over Floramon's shout of "Yeah! I didn't know snow is this fun!" back to Dorumon as the two Digimon play in the snow.

Eventually Bruce just hitches a shoulder, glancing at Tony and then to the D-Streams the both of them received. "Maybe they'll only be available after Dorumon... ah, 'digivolves'? It seems to be a thing here, after all." Not that he was certain, but it was still a theory nonetheless.

"We should build something!"

Tony sighs as he looks over at Dorumon and her dancing around in the snow with Floramon.

"I already have a team, a team I didn't even want... Not that we're well, all on one place before coming here. But I don't need another partner. So I don't think this whole digivole thing will be happening."

He keeps messing with what he can on the Stream. for a quiet moment.

"I'm still a bit suspicious about this whole digivolve thing anyway. Can you really believe that she is just suddenly going to be bigger and look completely different and fighty?"

He gestures to Dorumon and her playing in the snow. To Tony it seems really unlikely. And while he is very aware of who he's saying this too, he's classifying them both differently.
amygdalae: (yet more work)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2013-12-30 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Tony wasn't the only one who had the idea of that digivolve thing not happening. Bruce, for one, knew he wasn't quite for the job either - especially when things like emotions were what the Digimon fed off in their evolutions. Considering his own condition... Bruce didn't quite want to think what might happen if that time ever came.

The sooner he could leave this world, the better. It was for everyone else's sake more than his own.

"Impossible is a rather relative term at this point, considering where we are," he went, a wry look on his face as he contiuned to watch Dorumon and Floramon playing with the snow. Floramon had agreed to the snow building, and right now the two digimon were attempting to make a snow... something. He wasn't entirely sure what.

He glanced back at Tony. "Considering how everything is made of data here, I suppose its not much of a stretch to deem it possible."
arrogantalloy: (A: 041 Not pleased)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2013-12-30 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Tony gives a quiet chuckle at Bruce's last comment.

"Everything is data, huh? Well, that explains why everything tastes like chicken here."

He gives up on fiddling with the D-Stream and puts it in his pocket and leans back in his seat.

"Christmas is getting stranger and stranger each year."
amygdalae: (oh look there's wally.)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2013-12-30 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Bruce lets out a soft sound of acknowledgement to the words, but doesn't say anything else beyond that. Christmas wasn't exactly a thing that Bruce tended to remember fondly due to his own personal experiences, but it wasn't as if Tony needed to hear that. He had his own things to concern himself with, after all.

So instead he just focused on watching their two Digimon frolicking around the snow and generally having fun. It was strange, watching them, seeing them alive and sentient. It was still hard to actually be able to equate them to actual, living beings, but with each passing day, it somehow got easier.

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2013-12-30 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
Tony's quiet for a while himself, growing up his Christmases had been nothing to talk about, that was when he was even there for them. But a glance at Bruce has him turning around to look over at their digimon too.

"I've been trying to figure out why a dinosaur would need an IR port on it's head."

He shakes his head then shrugs.

"Strange thing to code in."
amygdalae: that's a nice way to put it (my other self?)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2013-12-30 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
"You could say that for almost any of the Digimon," Bruce remarked back in turn, glancing at Floramon for emphasis. After all, these certain was no reason for Floramon to look the way he did, but yet here he was anyway, right there and playing in the snow with a care in the world.

He looked towards Tony again. "This may all be data, but it resembles reality quite a bit, doesn't it?" Which was another strange thing to consider, but all the same, this was the place they were in now.
arrogantalloy: (A: 015 Oh yeah okay)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2014-01-04 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hm. Resembling reality might work with Audrey Two over there. He just looks like a planet of the triffids extra. But there's a few hundred billion years between infrared technology and a theropod."

He shrugs a little.

"Or we're trapped in a kids subconscious, because then all of this makes total sense."
amygdalae: dun dun DUUUUN (we're not a team; we're a timebomb)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2014-01-05 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
A small laugh from Bruce, especially with the last comment. He supposed this was something a kid could come up with... well, most likely. Bruce couldn't say for sure - he didn't have the most conducive and helpful childhood to work with.

"Well, regardless of what this place is, its a fact that we're here." Bruce shrugs and glances upwards, watching the sky. "We'll just have to try and work our way from in here." It wouldn't be the first time for either of them, he knows.
arrogantalloy: (A: 001 Thoughtful Look)

[personal profile] arrogantalloy 2014-01-05 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, hopefully I can get everything I need for the computer, and get it all running soon so we can attempt just that."

Tony doesn't look up, he just stares at the table, and tarts fiddling with things on it.
amygdalae: it was never meant to last. (and so it goes.)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2014-01-05 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
Bruce looks down at Tony's words, a smile on his face as he nods. "Yeah, there's that."

Not that Bruce is that all confident if it will work - but this is Tony Stark he's talking to, the man who's made the impossible possible. Who knows what might happen.
