What: The giving of the D-Streams

When: December 25th, 2013, morning

At the stroke of midnight on December 25th, every Chosen and their partners fall asleep wherever they are, with nothing able to wake them. They won't stay there all night, however. Bright and early, as if turned on by a switch, the Chosen will awaken in their beds to find their Digivices missing. The individual Digimon -- those without rooms, brought in like the Chosen -- similarly fall into slumber or stasis, waking where the stand in the morning in the morning.

They will all wake up with a note in their rooms, written in beautiful script. "Come to Roaming Park," it says. There's some kind of noise outside. Something drawing everyone out. Noticeable first is the fall of snow, so far absent from Terminal Tokyo. It covers, among everything else, Roaming Park, where on a bench there sits a Venusmon, with a very large sack. Around her are tables full of all sorts of food, and Digimon there both partaking in it and setting up more. It's a whole feast, not spoiled by the weather, but enhanced by it.

[ooc: Below there will be a thread to interact with Venusmon, where she will answer some questions and give out the D-Streams. Every non-canon Digimon character will receive a D-Stream, whether they see her or not. At the end of the day, they will appear in the Chosen's hands. This can also be used to generally mingle with each other and enjoy the snow.]

Kagerou didn't do parties.

He'd never been to one before, for one thing. For another thing, there were far too many people here. Too many unfamiliar faces. He stuck to the outskirts, hiding as much as possible. Safer, that way.

His new partner saw nothing wrong with flitting around, stuffing its face and being a social little lizard monster. Koro, however, stuck close, offering someone familiar for Kagerou to lean on.

At least the former BP unit was wearing the purple Christmas sweater. He'd tried to get into the spirit.

There were a few people on the edges of the crowd, herself included. It helped her getting a better idea of who was around, as well as keeping out of the main thick of things. It also helped her find people who, like her, didn't do well with large groups of people.

Approaching him slowly, so as not to seem intimidating, she smiled at him. "Hi, Kagerou..."

His head snapped around, looking a little alarmed, before he recognized her. The tension vanished, and he inclined his head, almost in a bow, before he answered.

"Hello."

Then he just sort of stood there, awkwardly. What did he even say to someone at one of these things?

"It's. Nice to meet you. In person."

Yes, that went well.

If there was any awkwardness, it didn't seem to show on Fluttershy. She simply smiled and nodded.

"Yes. IT's good to finally meet you in person as well. How are you?"

"Nervous," he admitted. His head ducked, shoulders hunching as if he were trying to flick his wings. A nervous tic he'd never seemed to banish, even while human. He picked at the threads in the sweater.

"There are a lot of people here."

She nodded, rubbing her arm. "Mm...there are a lot of people around. I didn't realize there were so many people in the city..."

"Neither did I."

He folds his arms around himself, still hunched. "It doesn't seem like so many, when you see them on the screen."

She nodded. "Mm...when you're only talking to people one on one, it's a little easier than...seeing everyone all at once..."

His eye suddenly got very wide. It was like she'd just suddenly spoken the most intelligent thing he'd ever heard.

"Yes. Yes, that's it exactly."

[strengthinkindness]

She smiled up at him, a look of clear understanding. Yes, crowds were not her thing either.

"It is a bit overwhelming, sometimes. But...when you have friends, it makes it...a little easier."

"Friends... like you."

He was slowly warming up to that idea. Slowly, but it was there, all the same. He nodded, head still bowed.

"My whole life was spent away from people. Even a handful is overwhelming."

[strengthinkindness]

She nodded a little. She understood that too. "That can happen too. And it's okay to take it a little at a time. When you're not used to people, it's best to spend a little at a time, so it isn't too overwhelming. Eventually, once you get used to being around others, it gets easier..."

"It gets easier..."

He repeated her words very quietly. As if memorizing them. And then nodded. If she said it got easier, he had to trust that, didn't he? She'd been nothing but helpful.

"I didn't think anyone here would feel as I did."

Hey Kagerou don't go hiding too hard. One familiar face manages to seek out his corner friend. Poor guy, he understood just how hard it was to deal with this many people.

Were it not for his friends and adopted family, Christmas would remain a holiday he cared little about.

The alligator came with his gift, the most obvious being the blanket there, holding it up for Kagerou to see.

"I am glad I found you, my friend."

He perks up when he sees the other approach, actually taking a few steps in his direction. It's good to see a familiar face, helpful, even. There's a shy little smile out of him.

"You were looking for me?"

[bigsoftie]

He nodded, gently smiling as he lifted up his gift: a patchwork blanket and a few chocolate bars.

"I wanted you to have these."

He blinked, his one visible eye going very wide. He shook his head a little. It wasn't he didn't appreciate the gesture, but...

"I can't."

Another shake of his head. "I don't have anything to give to you."

[bigsoftie]

His hands lowered, looking disappointed. But bro, he got these for you.

"But...I want you to have them."

Monodramon interjected, "But you're enough of a gift for him!"

"Are you... are you certain?"

Part of him still didn't want to take them. Purely because he had nothing to give in return. He was about to explain it, but--

What.

"I... me?" He just gaped at the Monodramon. "What?"

He nods. He really wants you to have it, corner bro. In fact, take a look at his sad face.

Monodramon just smiles, "You guys are friends, that's a gift enough for him!

His face suddenly feels hot. He has no idea why, and lifts a hand to touch his own face, wondering idly at the sensation.

"If... if you're sure. Then, I'll accept."

You ok, Kagerou? Cause it seems pretty strange that you did that. He hands it it him.

"Please...take it."

[fuckinstoplights]

"Right."

Right, he should take the things. It's still hesitant. But he does reach out for them, his head bowed, shoulders, hunched.

"Thank you."

[bigsoftie]

Leatherhead returns with a small smile, "It does me much more to see you take those presents. Thank you."

"I'll make it up to you," he promises. He actually bows, still holding the gifts tightly.

"Soon."
