Merry Christmas, Chosen...

Who: Venusmon, everyone
What: The giving of the D-Streams
Where: Terminal City, Roaming Park
When: December 25th, 2013, morning

At the stroke of midnight on December 25th, every Chosen and their partners fall asleep wherever they are, with nothing able to wake them. They won't stay there all night, however. Bright and early, as if turned on by a switch, the Chosen will awaken in their beds to find their Digivices missing. The individual Digimon -- those without rooms, brought in like the Chosen -- similarly fall into slumber or stasis, waking where the stand in the morning in the morning.

They will all wake up with a note in their rooms, written in beautiful script. "Come to Roaming Park," it says. There's some kind of noise outside. Something drawing everyone out. Noticeable first is the fall of snow, so far absent from Terminal Tokyo. It covers, among everything else, Roaming Park, where on a bench there sits a Venusmon, with a very large sack. Around her are tables full of all sorts of food, and Digimon there both partaking in it and setting up more. It's a whole feast, not spoiled by the weather, but enhanced by it.

[ooc: Below there will be a thread to interact with Venusmon, where she will answer some questions and give out the D-Streams. Every non-canon Digimon character will receive a D-Stream, whether they see her or not. At the end of the day, they will appear in the Chosen's hands. This can also be used to generally mingle with each other and enjoy the snow.]

"Thanks!", Kit said, settling down in the seat next to the older boy. Emerick hopped up next to her on her other side and she set her partner's plate and cup down within easy reach, once her own heavier plate had been placed on the table.

Clearly, Kit was a fan of the turkey too, as that was the thing she started with, giving Leatherhead the rather amusing visual of the little kitten holding up a chunk of meat roughly half the size of her head. It took both hands for her to hold the drumstick steady enough, but once she had a good grip, she was tearing into it with just as much gusto as Leatherhead. Complete with loud, pleased munching noises, since there were no adults around just then to care about table manners, and this was hardly a fancy party anyway.

Soon enough though, she had to pause to drink a bit of her punch and take a breath, which provided a moment to talk to the older boy some more while trying to reach a nearby jar of blackberry jam to spread on her bread and finding her arms too short for the task. "Hey, could you hand me that jam, please?"

He felt a bit awkward having this stranger sit next to him. But then again, many strangers had congregated to this place. She wasn't any different.

The girl could certainly eat, arguably more than him. And the former gator certainly had no manners to object to her eating habits. When you're hungry, you're hungry. His digimon soon turned to cheering the girl on. Nothing brings digimon together like a good feast.

He almost jumped from the request, though it didn't show. staring, he passed the jam, "You are capable eating a great deal."

Emerick rolled her eye slightly at the other digimon cheering Kit on while she ate. Really, they were far too easily impressed. But still, it was amusing to watch them while she ate her own meal, Kit having been kind enough to tear the ham up into bite-sized portions for her out of respect for her lack of hands.

Kit grinned at the older boy, accepting the jam with a nod of thanks and spreading some onto her bread. "So can you," she pointed out. "But yeah, there's no way I'm not taking advantage of a feast like this." If there was one thing she'd learned, it was to eat your fill when food was provided, because there was no guarantee that there would be more later. Besides, she was a growing kitten, and as her Papa had often said, farm life bread hearty appetites.

"I'm Wily-Kit, by the way," she said, "but everybody just calls me Kit. And this is Emmy." She indicated her Salamon partner, who looked up from her own meal to nod politely at the older boy when she was introduced.

Cautiously he resumed eating in the midst of talking with the strange girl. She certainly had some good taste, as far as he thought, anyway. He never ate half of these foods before his arrival here. Trying each and every one of those flavors made an interesting experience for him. Right now he had a piece of chicken jammed in his mouth.

"Kit..." he made a small wave to both her and the digimon before introducing his impmon and monodramon, "This is Duke--"

"--and I'm Roadbuster! Leatherhead gave me this name for Christmas!

Kit grinned as Roadbuster introduced himself. "It's a cool name," she said. "And a name is a pretty great present when you don't already have one."

Turning back to the older boy, Kit continued. "And I guess that makes you Leatherhead, right?", she said, freeing her right hand from her food long enough to offer a handshake, fingers slightly sticky from the generous helping of blackberry jam she'd applied to her bread. "Nice to meet you! Not to often I find somebody who likes to eat as much as me."

"Thanks! He told me it had something to do with one of his friends!"

Leatherhead makes a slow nod as he reaches for an awkward handshake. Sticky, he never really felt something so sticky before, "Yes...I like the food here...I never had this much back at my home..."

"Then that just makes it even specialer," Kit said. "Emerick's named after a friend of ours from back home too." A tinge of sadness passes over Kit's face at that, but it passes quickly.

Kit shakes Leatherhead's hand, then smiles sympathetically as he mentions not having much food back home. "You too, huh?", she said. "That's one of the best things about this place; you don't ever have to go hungry. But yeah, I don't think even Lion-O ever had a feast like this and he's a king!" She gestures broadly to indicate the huge spread before digging in to her now jam-covered bread and mashed potatoes, fork in one hand, bread in the other.

"Emerick is a good name..." he tilts his head at her sadness.

"A king?" What's a kin. Lion-O did sound like a nice name, regardless. He'd have to find out about those too...maybe later. He nodded his head, "These foods are almost the best foods I have ever tasted...You should not have to go hungry."

"Uh-huh," Kit said. The tone sounded a bit too questioning though, as if he didn't know what a king was. Which was weird, given that he was a lot older than her. Well, she'd just tell him. If he already knew he could say so.

"A king is a man who's in charge of a whole kingdom," she says. "He makes the rules, though he usually has people helping him, so he doesn't make dumb too many ones, and everybody who lives in his kingdom has to do what he says. In return, the king's supposed to protect his people and try to do what's best for all of them."

"Course," she added, "there's not much for Lion-O to be in charge of, since the lizards destroyed Thundara. But he's still a good king, even if he messes up sometimes."

"And yeah, nobody should have to go hungry," she said. "Though I don't think there's any need to worry about that today!" She giggled. Even if if everyone ate their fill at the feast, there would still likely be left-overs to take home.

"...like a father," sorry Kit but this is the closest analogy his brain can concoct. It's all mind boggling.

"He still has you and his people..." At leas that's what he gets from it. It actually sounds nice.

For once Leatherhead breaks into a small smile, "These are delicious food...but not as delicious as Michelangelo's cooking."

Kit thought about the comparison for a moment. "Yeah, it actually is, kinda," she finally said. "I never thought about a king that way before." True, it was hardly exactly the same, but she could definitely see the similarities.

"And yeah, he does," Kit said. Well, what was left of his people anyway, but that was a depressing thought, ill suited for a holiday.

Kit smiled right back before taking a big bit of ham. She at least had enough manners to wait til her mouth was empty before replying, though, a mischievous look in her eyes. "Hmm, I dunno, seems like this stuff'd be pretty hard to beat...", she said. "But that just means we need to do a taste-test one of these days to make sure!" She nodded firmly, grinning, because any test involving food was obviously a good idea.
bigsoftie: (pizza soup?!?!?)

[personal profile] bigsoftie 2014-01-30 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hey it's better than nothing, right, Kit? Cause Leatherhead can tell you all about the nothing.

And Leatherhead definitely liked that idea. Mainly because he thinks that every living thing should be exposed to Mikey's cooking, "A taste test would be good...you would love his pizza soup."

Definitely better than nothing, and Kit can tell you a bit about it to, Leatherhead.

Kit looked intrigued by this 'pizza soup', though. "Pizza soup?", Kit asked curiously. "What's a pizza? Is it some kind of vegetable?" Because soups were usually named for their ingredients, from what she knew, and 'pizza' didn't sound like any kind of animal she'd ever heard of.
