[Everything had been almost absolute chaos in getting to Hospitown and setting himself up there had taken even longer than he'd expected; he was getting older and for a time it showed, it definitely took him a good while to unwind his gears, even longer to stop sleeping with his handgun under his pillow. Now though he felt better, at least well enough to reach out to people...what a way to ring in the New Year; almost getting flattened by a raging Digglemod with a god complex. Thankfully from the info he'd managed to gather, most everyone had made it to Hospitown or at least safety thanks to a great effort, so to that his smiling face would pop up on the D-stream's screen accompanied by a small wave and the sight of Raine hopping up and down on his bed in the background.]

Hey there all, good to know everyone's safe and sound after all that noise. By chance...has anyone seen Squall or Seifer around since then? I haven't heard anything and I just wanted to check they didn't go off into the wilds for training or something like that. Other than that...how's everyone holding up?

[Laguna walked to the door and opened it, not waiting for much other a reason before he engulfed Saori's tiny frame in a hug; he'd missed this calm feeling she brought with her...but his desire to make sure she didn't get caught up in his problems had taken priority of course.]

And how have you been holding up? Good I hope?

Oh! I was about to ask you that!

[She let out a small squeak in surprise from the hug but returned it back.]

Hmm we probably shouldn't crowd the hallway like this.

Yeah...you're right, come on in.

[Like heck he was giving up the hug though; he could just as easily draw her into his apartment without letting go. He needed a nice, big hug and Saori always gave the best hugs anyways.]

I've been doing okay, just been unwinding from all the chaos. There's never a dull moment around here, is there? I'll be lucky if I get out without a heart attack...

I would but I don't want to let go yet.

[Tiny goddesses give the best warming hugs ever. True fact. She reached up to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. ]

Hmm I wouldn't mind a quiet moment now and then though.

I know...hopefully now at least we'll get some down time. I've dealt with enough people and things with god complexes for one lifetime...

[Ultimecia and Adel had been enough to give him all he needed of that to last him several lifetimes if he was being honest; now all he wanted to do was sit back and relax...which we was going to do as he fell backwards into his couch with Saori still wrapped up in his arms.]

So, how are Guren and Kiyomi doing? Are they taking to Hospitown well enough?

No kidding. You have no idea how much I wanted to deck that high and all mighty jerk in the face. Honestly, if I had at least my strength back, that'd be the first thing I'd do.

[She nuzzled against him.]

They're asleep right now but they're doing fine now.

[He smiled and placed a hand atop her head affectionately, nodding in agreement with her statement.]

I'd pay to see that, I can only imagine the things you're capable of. I'm just a regular guy...the best I could have hoped to do was give him a case of doublevision. Now if I had access to the Ragnarok, then I could have introduced an orbital particle cannon to his face.

[Alexander above did he miss that ship.]

[She let her head rest against his chest. It had been a while since they had some alone time. Thankfully, they didn't have to worry about anyone barging in.]

It would be easier with all of our own strengths but apparently we have to play by this world's rules. Sure we maybe catalysts for our partners to digivolve, but we're also a big target for the enemy too. I don't want to be a burden to Kiyomi and Guren so maybe some training might be able to give them an edge.

Ha, I know what you mean...I haven't been doubling up on my exercise drills for nothing. As for right now though...all we can really do is keep ourselves in shape and make sure we're ready to adapt to the situations we get tossed in. I could always run you through my exercises if you want, you seem like you'd be able to handle it just fine.

[It was all rigorous to say the least; nothing less was expected from the Galbadian military after all, but Saori was tough and he was certain that a few exercise routines wouldn't be enough to keep her down.]

I could always use a new challenge. I'd like to see what your routine is like. Maybe we could think up one for our partners as well.

[She maybe tiny but she definetly could pack a punch when needed. To be honest, she was rather excited to see this training session of his.]

Alright, I think I can oblige a quick look at what I do.

[As loathe as he was to part from her company, he reluctantly rose to his feet; only to place himself on the floor in a push-up position. He placed his hands underneath his chest and formed a diamond with his hands before pulling his legs completely up off the floor, forcing him to hold the entirety of his weight on his hands as he slowly let himself drop down before pushing up; keeping the rhythm going steadily.]

This is called a Diamond Push-up...it's rough to hold up all your body weight...but it does wonders once you can do it consistently.

[She sat up to watch with rapt attention.]

Suddenly I'm remembering my old training years. My mentor definitely would love to learn your training regimen. I'm already looking forward to this.

[He finished a few more before standing up and stretching with a smile.]

Most people would be running away, but I suppose that's what makes you special.

Ah well, it can't be as tough as when Pluto trained me. I didn't have any fighting experience before then. The closest physical thing before then was volleyball back in high school. To be honest, everyone thought I'd quit under my mentor's training after a month. I ended up being one of his better students.

[She laughs sheepishly though she did mean that Pluto's training was hard. Back then, she was just a soul and didn't have any of her goddess powers yet. The fact she survived his training won admiration from the community.]
