Olympic Contact

Who: Minervamon, and you
What: A visitor, with something to say
Where: HospiTown
When: January 15th and 16th, 2013

Around noon, a figure walks into HospiTown. She is short, probably the size of some of the younger kids, and she carries a sword.

Rather, the sword drags on the ground, as she walks with grunts and injuries. When she reaches the Hospital's doors, she drops it, and she half-sits, half-leans against the building. An Agumon approaches her, one who works there, with shock and gasps.

"Don't be surprised," says the Digimon, Minervamon. "I'm not gonna cause any trouble. Could you tell the Chosen I'm here to talk? I owe them that much, and, well. I'd rather not barge into your fine establishment."

She grins weakly, and the Agumon, in a daze, rushes inside. Moments later, an announcement goes throughout the Hospital, via a PA system: You've got a visitor, and it's a God! She's here to talk, Minervamon's here to talk!

She chuckles. Well, that'll get some of them out, but maybe with more of a fuss than she wanted...

Dukemon gazes down at the smaller Mega. This had been one of the two Digimon that had appeared on that day the Chosen had been forced to flee. The Royal Knight surveyed her condition before speaking.

"You were the one fighting Jupitermon."

"It was very courageous of you," he remarks with an earnest smile and nod. "If it weren't for you we might not have been so lucky. I'm sorry more people aren't showing you gratitude. I don't like to make excuses for others - its a very slippery slope - but a lot of people are just shaken up and distressed over what they fear is just more criticism of their genuine efforts."

He sighs and shrugs then, holding an arm out with a raised brow, offering her the courtly gesture as a matter of honor, though he won't take offense if she declines to take it.

"No one, myself included, is entirely sure what we're supposed to do to save our worlds. We're scattered and everyone has different opinions and the only thing really uniting us was that there wasn't anywhere else to go. I dislike speaking ill of others, but I would wager there are those among us who care very little what happens to the worlds. Personally I'd just like to get this all sorted and head back home. I have people I miss...and if this all ends up being for naught then I wish to see them one more time before its all lost to us."

"Oh, thank god. At the rate you were spouting Roman myth names at me, I was honestly starting to worry."

"Traveling the plains of what now?" Ruffnut's eyebrow quirked in confusion and she looked up to Chuumon "Did the train take us past those?"

He shook his head and looked back to The Goddess, "Well sweet cheeks since ya asked, I'd love to be able to evolve and stay evolved all the time. How do we make that work?"

"Yeah!" Ruffnut brightened and took Chuumon off her helmet to hold him out to Minervamon "Do that!"

Dukemon becomes silent for a brief moment. She had held off the Digimon that could have done so much more damage if no one had been there to intercept him. Still, he couldn't keep the wary tension from surfacing and still maintaining the need to be ready for any surprise attacks.

Even so, gratitude should still be extended to where it is due.

"I, Dukemon, thank you for what you did."

[Bumblebee's wariness eases somewhat. So it was true then. Disastrous as the results had been in Tokyo, the digimon had meant to help.

Vanguard, the Coronamon, just shifts his weight to the other foot.]
That's good, lady. But you really need to tone down the intensity of your 'help'.

[Bumblebee kneels down beside his digimon, tapping a message into his D-terminal that Vanguard reads out loud to Minervamon.]

We could really use some answers.

[Terra didn't go looking for Minervamon yesterday to speak to her, but he'd been watching. Wounded people weren't always of the clearest mind to talk, and he was content to wait. Other people had their grievances to air, and he didn't want to get involved.

'God' didn't mean especially much. He'd met a god once, a guy with his head on fire. Terra hadn't been impressed.

But when she goes wandering around, healthy enough to do at least a little travel, it's then and only then that he actually approaches, Dorumon silent at his side, far more alarmed by this whole thing than Terra himself was.]

You're Minervamon, miss?

[Polite, cordial. There's not a trace of hostility, but he hadn't been there for the terrible battle that erased a city. She's teeny, but size wasn't everything.]

Can I have a few moments of your time?

"Its my understanding that's what everyone believed every other time something terrible befell the city," he replied, walking alongside her, pleased that she took his arm because what else was a Prince supposed to do while walking with a young woman?

"When people start calming down, they'll see you meant well enough and that most of us act hastily and recklessly as well, and that no one is any more or less to blame. They ought to be grateful that it was you and not ourselves forced to fight such a force as that Jupitermon. Sooner or later we'll be forced to make better and more cohesive decisions. From personal experience I can only suggest trying to unite people under a common goal. Something more tangible than "save the world" because that means something different to everyone. I would suggest aiming to act on the desire to defeat a common enemy. Whatever a reason for doing it, the the end result is the same."

Ah.. sorry, I don't know the proper way to address you.

[How DO you address a tiny goddess digimon?? Ma'am just didn't seem right somehow. Terra seems to have decided that getting it wrong is some sort of social faux pas, by his embarassment. But she seems friendly enough and not about to kill him for it, so there's that much!]

Alright. ... Are you really a goddess of this world?

[personal profile] promisedreunion 2014-01-16 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
A nod from him. He wouldn't say anything if he didn't mean it, and she gave them enough time to escape even though the city was lost in the process.

"I do."

A new town means a new place to get used to. Luckily, Perry has had a few days to do just that. He's settled into his room in the hospital. He's not a big fan of it since, well, it IS a hospital. Not to mention he had JUST moved out of the Newbie Housing to get his own room when the town had gone boom.

But, beggars couldn't be choosers. And so he was making do and spending as little time in the hospital as possible. At the moment he was walking out of the cafe with a tray of coffee to go and a box of pastries tucked under his arm. His partners perked up as they saw Perry come out. It was his treat for them until he could figure out a way to start making money again.

As he was crossing to where his partners sat he noticed a strange looking little girl approaching. Well, at first he thought it was a girl. However he noticed Gertrude tense up slightly, her fox tail bristling as she caught wind of the girl. Clearly, she was a digimon...and based on Gertrude's reaction it was not a pleasant experience when the fox digimon had encountered her.

It took Perry a second longer to place the strangely dressed girl as the Digimon that had appeared to fight Jupitermon. Perry realized then that Gertrude must be reacting to the memory more so than the digimon. He glanced at his partners who were watching him, so he tilted his head towards her.

Bartholomew picked up on Perry's cue and called out. "Hey! What are you doing here?" That sounded a bit rude so Bartholomew corrected, "Care for some breakfast?"

Perry looked down at his coffee tray with 3 beverages in it. He hadn't exactly meant for THAT.

When Kit comes out to speak to Minervamon, Emerick is trailing at her heels, looking a bit less certain than her partner. Aburn, her new partner, is nowhere to be seen. Kit is carrying a tray obviously borrowed from the hospital's cafeteria, on which is a sandwich, an orange, a chocolate chip cookie, and a little carton of milk.

"Hi," she says. "Some of the others said you were out here and that you looked like you were hurt, but that you'd said you didn't need any medicine or anything. But I figured... well, you could at least probly use some food." She holds up the tray slightly to indicate that that's why she has it before offering it to Minervamon.

I've only met one god, and he seemed mostly interested in rigging competitions.

[Less than impressed with that one? You betcha. But this one, well, he's content to wait and see. She certainly didn't have Hades' level of smarm!]

As far as I can tell 'God' just means a being that lives in a different sort of reality than this one, and when they come here they have more power because of it. Is that how it works here?
