The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

[So far, Fluttershy wasn't the only one taking some comfort in not being noticed. Well...noticed by anyone else other than their partner Digimon, at least. And for Hiccup, Gomamon was taking the place of ten people just on his own. Even Toothless wasn't this hyper, and he couldn't talk at least.

As they pass by, Gomamon riding on Hiccup's back with his front flippers resting on his shoulders, the young viking can't help but notice Fluttershy standing there looking very unsure and out of place. Then again, she was in the same boat as everyone else.

Unfortunately, Gomamon got a better look at her before Hiccup could even have the chance to say anything, and spoke up quite loudly.]

Heeey, I didn't know humans had wings!

[strengthinkindness]

[She visibly stiffens, her wings shooting back at the exclamation. This further skews her balance, causing her to nearly topple over.

Lopmon, meanwhile, has turned towards Hiccup and Gomamon, shooting a glare at the other Digimon.]

Why don't you just mind your own business!

N-no, Lopmon, i-it's okay...

[She speaks very quietly, just enough that only her Digimon manages to hear her.]

[Hiccup can feel his face burning with embarrassment, and still he can't get a chance to apologize before Gomamon barks back at Lopmon.]

Hey, s'not like I was tryin' to insult the girl or anything! I was just making a statement! Have you ever seen a human with wings? Huh?

[Desperately Hiccup grabs at Gomamon's claws, which are tightening around his neck subconsciously and nearly choking him.]

Gomamon, please!

[Then he looks back up at Fluttershy, gesturing frantically.]

Look I- I...I'm so sorry.

[strengthinkindness]

[She glances down, her hair partially covering her face.]

I-it's...it's okay...

[Even as she says this, though, she still appears uncomfortable, and her wings fold in a little as though she's trying to hide them.

Meanwhile, Lopmon crosses his arms, still looking not pleased.]

Um....my name's Hiccup. ...What's yours?

[This was usually an acceptable ice breaker, right? ...Even if your Digimon is rude.]

[strengthinkindness]

Fl...Fluttershy...

[trainsurdragons]

...Well it's nice to meet you Fluttershy. ...Gomamon didn't mean what he said, really.

[Fluttershy takes a breath, and when she speaks her voice is a little louder than before...a little]

N-no, it's...it's all right. F-from...what I've seen, I-I guess...not a lot of h-humans have...wings?

Yeah, not really. ..Then again, not a lot of people have dragons where they're from, so I'm... trying to keep an open mind.

[strengthinkindness]

Y-you...you have dragons where you're from?

[trainsurdragons]

[Hiccup nods.]

Lots of dragons. They're just about as common as mosquitoes on Berk.

[strengthinkindness]

O-oh...

W-we...we have dragons...where I come from b-back home, but...I've n-never seen that many...

[Thankfully.]

[Oh good, something they have in common. Sortof.]

Wish you could see Berk then. It's completely covered with dragons. They're kindof like our partners, like how Digimon are here.

[strengthinkindness]

[She can't help the small shudder that passes through her body.] Th-that...doesn't sound like a place that I-I'd...do too well at. I-I'm a little [read: extremely]...s-scared of...dragons...

[trainsurdragons]

Oh...

[Hiccup smiles slightly at Fluttershy, trying his best to look reassuring.]

Well the ones around Berk aren't all that bad. ..Would you believe me if I told you my best friend is a dragon? ...and that he saved my life?

[strengthinkindness]

[She seems a little curious by this.] R-really?

[trainsurdragons]

Mhm. My dragon friend's name is Toothless. He really is a harmless dragon, once you get to know him.

[strengthinkindness]

O-oh...Th-that...that sounds nice.

S-so...what kind of things do you and...Toothless do?

[trainsurdragons]

Well....lots of things. He's my best friend so... we're practically together all the time. We go out for flights, play in the snow when it isn't horrible outside, help dad take care of the village...you know, stuff like that.

[strengthinkindness]

[She relaxes a little as she listens, seeming to be opening up to the idea.] Th-that sounds...really nice.

[trainsurdragons]

It...it is. ...I just hope Toothless and the others are doing alright, back home..

[strengthinkindness]

[Oh yes, worry...she knows all about that.

Hesitantly very hesitantly she takes his hand, hoping it's reassuring.] I...I-I'm sure they're all right...

[trainsurdragons]

[Hiccup blinks a few times, looking over at her when she takes his hand. The contact is unexpected, admittedly, but not unwelcome. He's just happy she doesn't seem so nervous and unsure as she was before, so he nods.]

Yeah, you're right. If anything, I shouldn't even be worried about them. I should be more worried about myself.

[strengthinkindness]

[She gives him a small smile.] I-It...might not be so bad here...?

[She's trying, but she doesn't sound completely sure. Mostly because she's been pretty worried about it herself.]

[Hiccup chuckles.]

Maybe. You never know, right? This might just be just another adventure.
