play, play, play! (april 2013-- game start!)

Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!

The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

Cam holds one arm in front of him, like a shield, and drums at the other. "Campbell Saunders." This kind of guy sort of demands his full name, it felt. He sounds so serious, yet open, all at once. He can tell Kaldur'ahm's noticed his...glitching, which he's figured out the reason for now, but relief floods through him as he realizes he's not saying anything about it.

"Then we can sit too!" Lucemon cries, continuing to pull Cam along to the waterside. He's not much choice than to just let her drag him. He's starting to understand that might be just how things go. "He's new. Are you new too?"

Hopefully he will eventually learn that Kaldur only sounds serious and actually knows how to have fun and everything. Although, that might take awhile since this sort of environment calls for the more business-like side of Kaldur. He nods at the name though and files it away with the others he has learned. So many people to meet and Kaldur only hopes he can keep up with everyone.

He turns his attention to Lucemon, "I am. I arrived only a few moments ago, but it was a little too crowded."

Gizamon muttered under her breath something that might have been "it's too crowded now." But, once again, Kaldur ignored the comment or perhaps didn't hear it. He does gesture at the digimon floating in the water though, "This is Gizamon."

Fun would be nice. Fun would probably be nice for a lot of the people here.

The one to answer is actually Cam. "Really? I've... I think an hour." He shakes his head, a little disoriented. "Hard to keep track of time." His phone's broken. He discovered that shortly after meeting Lucemon, much to his dismay. He wonders if he can get a few things off it, maybe, if someone could help.

He's about to introduce Lucemon, but she does it herself. "Lucemon's the name! Oh, I haven't met many Gizamon, hello, hello."

It was difficult. A combination of a lot of confusing activity and being lost would make time seem to go by faster than what it actually was. Kaldur himself was probably a little off on his estimate of a few moments ago as well. Still, it didn't seem too important how "long" ago it was that they got here.

"Hello Lucemon."

Gizamon blows some bubbles in the water but it looks like Kaldur wants her to play nice based on the look he is giving her. She lifts her head out of the water more, "Hi. You're the first Lucemon I've met too." Gizamon tosses a glance at Kaldur as if to ask 'There? Happy?' Kaldur nods. He's really going to have to work on Gizamon's people skills, er, digimon skills.

Idly, while splashing her feet lightly in the water, Lucemon muses, "I bet it's cause most Gizamon like the beach and Lucemon like the clouds. Skies. Or something. Ooo, having partners is making all of us branch out more, it's like--"

What it's like she never says, because Cam notices Kaldur's gills and exclaims, "Whoa, what's on your. Your neck?!"

Right. Kaldur forgot he didn't have his jacket that usually hid his gills in his civilian clothes. He doesn't let it offend him though and he probably should have expected such a response. Kaldur is about to explain but Gizamon jumps in instead.

"Hey! Don't be rude! They're perfectly normal!" Kaldur had already explained them to Gizamon, although being a digimon she hadn't questioned it as much.

He probably should have seen that reaction coming from her though. She got rather defensive about him. "Gills. I am Atlantean, that is, I was born under the sea." In fact until about two or three years ago he'd never set foot on the surface world.

Immediately, Cam begins his usual apologies. "Sorry, I--" But then Kaldur's words truly sink in and he stops, his mouth flopping open like. Well, like a fish. "S-seriously? Atlantis, like the lost city? And-- Wow. W-wow."

The awe of it all washes away how tense his nerves are.

He continues, "And you can breath air too? I mean-- of course you can, you're here, but. That's incredible!"

Kaldur smiles, for some reason that reaction doesn't get old. After all Atlantis IS famous, even among the surface world's legends. "Yes, that Atlantis."

He lets Cam ramble on, mostly because he's not sure what else he is supposed to say or do in a situation like this. He's certainly not used to it.

Gizamon glances between Cam and Kaldur. "I don't get it. What's the big deal? It's just a human who lives under water. You mean that's not common or something?" She didn't quite get it since, well, Digimon came in all kinds who could live above and below the sea, so why not humans? Besides, Kaldur just had gills, that was cool but not really something that warranted the degree to which Cam was reacting.

Some of the air's taken out of his sails, but Cam's too excited to retreat inward. "Well I mean-- no. Most humans-- all humans live on land. Where I come from, I mean. We don't even have people with gills. It's sorta...cool."

The smile on his lips shakes, and he rubs his arm, but he stays at least a little upbeat.

Kaldur notices the arm rub and perhaps misinterprets the motion.

"Do not mind Gizamon. I do not think she quite understands." Plus she doesn't always realize that what's she saying can be a little mean. He really needs to talk to her about that, perhaps sooner rather than later.

He shakes his head, shrugging as he does. "It's...fine, everything's all new here." Cam taps his knee and glances at the water. "Probably shouldn't've been so surprised anyway."

Already those thoughts are starting to settle back in, though he wishes they'd go away.

"I am sure there will be more surprises in store. It is acceptable to be afraid or worried, but in the long run we must look past our differences and our fears so that we can survive." He hoped he was being reassuring. He could tell Campbell was not used to heroics and danger as he was and even with that expertise Kaldur was worried. However, he was also confident that they would not have been brought into this world if they could not help it. Koushirou had said as much and Kaldur was going to cling to that hope.

"It will work out."

To be frank, Cam doubts that. The pain has dulled, and the glitching is slowing, but it serves a constant reminder that he can't handle it. When the going gets tough, he checks out. Why should this place be any different? Heck, it should probably be worse.

Still, Kaldur's words were a bit inspiring, at least enough to stave off a coming wave of panic. He can answer, truthfully, "I hope so."

If this were one of Kaldur's teammates this would probably be the part where he puts a hand on their shoulder and tries to reassure them further. However, he has only just met Campbell and so the proximity would probably not be appreciated. Instead Kaldur simply nods, "You should also have faith in your partner. I'm sure Lucemon will help you with what she can."

Said Lucemon, on the other hand, has no reservations about grabbing Cam in a hug. Probably because of the whole born to be with him thing. "That's right! I'll help you adjust, don't worry! We're gonna be the best partners ever!"

And despite his nerves, he smiles, just a little. "I guess."

Kaldur chuckled but seemed reassured. Cam might have some more adjusting to do but at least he didn't seem completely at a lost of things. Perhaps it had not all sank in yet, but Kaldur would remain optimistic that Cam would be just fine.

"And, again, if you should need anything you are free to call on me as well."

That's kind of nice. Having someone already offer reassurances. He's not sure why, especially given the fact that he's...him. But he accepts it, while Lucemon snuggles closer to him. A real affectionate partner, huh?

"Thanks. I can't really...do much, but if you... I mean... I could... Thanks."

Stick around, Kaldur is always ready to offer advice if not at least provide an ear to listen to a problem.
