The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

[Labramon pressed her hand against Mondo's hand happily, though she kept her mouth shut as she let the two chosen children talk. Clearly this was a conversation too serious for her to interrupt]

Ishimaru-kun was killed by Hifumi-kun, who in turn was killed by Celes-san. That was the subject of the third trial.

[She heaved a heavy sigh]

There's much to catch you up on, concerning the fates of our classmates, Monobear, and Hope's Peak Academy in general. Perhaps we should take this conversation somewhere more private.

Hifumi! I'll kill him!

[...And then he realizes that she just said he was killed by Celes. Well, finding out that the person he considered a brother was murdered wasn't exactly conductive to thinking clearly. He sighs.]

...Okay. More private sounds good.

It's impossible to kill someone twice. [a beat] Or so I once believed.

[She turns on her heel, nodding at the meeting hall]

I believe we'll be staying in that building.

[ridingwild]

I know, I know. But if that bastard ever shows his face around here...

[Okay, maybe now isn't the time for that. He'll plan his epic revenge later.]

At least they give us a place. That's a plus. [Well, you know, a place that they can leave freely without killing anyone.]

It. . . is far better than living out in the wilderness, yes.

And far better than our last accommodations.

What was your last place like?

It was nothing, Labramon.

Yeah, it was just...not as nice. [Because he doesn't have it in him to make a talking dog sad by discussing mutual killings.]

...Have you seen anyone else here? From school, I mean?

. . . I haven't. You're the first person from Hope's Peak I've meant.

That doesn't mean the others aren't here.

Yeah. I'll keep looking, I guess.

So...how'd the rest of you guys escape?
