The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

"Wow," came a remark. The tone was dry, and distinctly unimpressed. "Looks like we've got a winning team, here. Gaomon?"

Gaomon was silent, but glanced up at his partner and gave a slight nod of agreement.

"You really need to speak up... anyway," the human-looking person - Espio - said. "How come you got to stay as a whatever-it-was? I only got to keep a tail."

Eridan looks towards -- Whatever this guy is, a human? Wait, at his words, it seems he had not been a human but had become a human? In a way, that was even worse than being whatever the fuck this pale skinned creature was, "You were so unworthy before that they had to turn you into a human with yellow blood? That is even worse than just bein' a fuckin' human and I don't even know what a human is supposed to be."

The purple streak in his own hair lets everyone know he is a seadweller with purple blood in his veins in case they didn't notice the fins on the side of his face in the first place, it made sense then that he would mistake the yellow in Espio's hair as the color his blood must be. Yellow was, of course, one of the lowest colors in the hemospectrum that the trolls happened to follow. To Eridan, Espio might as well be a peasant.

Of course, Eridan turns to his Digimon, "See, Impmon? This is the type a' person that is below us."

"...yellow blood?" Espio repeated, glancing at his hand as though that would show him something. He couldn't really tell, but from the colours of his veins he guessed it was a more normal red colour. Hey, he had no idea what a human's blood was supposed to look like - for all he knew, it could be a crazy colour! "Why would you think that?"

Eh, whatever. Espio shrugged.

"Why wouldn't I think that? What with you flauntin' your color for everyone to see."

Points a long, grey finger towards Espio's head, where the yellow streak was in his hair much Eridan's own purple streak. "Why else would you have that disgustin' color in your hair if it wasn't your own blood color?"

Espio lifted a hand to tug on that blonde streak. "I figured it's supposed to be like my horn, since it's the same colour. Even though I've still got a horn hiding under all this hair." He flipped his hair back just enough to show the small horn, then let it fall back over.

"Blood's supposed to be red, anyway, unless you're some sort of alien... or a mollusc."

Raises an eyebrow at that horn when it's revealed to him, what a nubby horn it is. Much like a certain nubby horned bro he has back where he really belongs.

"You only have one horn? That's so fuckin' strange, do all humans only have one horn like that?"

As for blood being red, "Are you kiddin' me? Red is the worst color a' blood for anyone to have. The lowest on the hemospectrum -- You humans do have the hemospectrum, right? Unless you don't if only because you're all rustbloods, anyway."

"So... Basically you're a mollusc with an inferiority complex, trying to compensate for being a freak of nature by lording it over species with... normal, red blood. How ridiculous. But, guess I gotcha.."

Espio shrugged. "And try to keep up. I already said I'm not human. Humans don't have horns."
