play, play, play! (april 2013-- game start!)

Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!

The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

"How could anyone drag their feet around here? Look at this place!" Beastboy cheered arms wide gesturing to the world around them.

Psychemon sighed and shook her head, "Haste makes waste." She admonished.

Jin nodded at Psychemon with a small smile.

"Precisely. I want to see the scenery, not just rush by it."

"But you'll have plenty of time to see the scenery. It's not like it's going anywhere. I hope."

"Dude, is that like...a thing that could happen? The Scenery could go somewhere?"

Psychemon shrugged her solid shoulders, "It's half the Digital world. Anything could happen at this point."

"Then that's all the more reason to enjoy it while it's the way it is."

Veemon blinked and looked up at his partner.

"Wait, wouldn't that make it more reason to see it all while we can?"

Beastboy looked puzzled by the question at hand, "Well, I mean...both answers are sorta right..." He reasoned.

"Trust me." Psychemon sighed. "Slower is better. You guys have no idea where you're going. What if you get lost?"

"Then I'll just turn into a bird and-" Beastboy's face fell as realization dawned on his face. "Oh right...can't do that anymore."

"Turn into a bird?" Jin raised a curious eyebrow and crossed his arms. "I have to say, that's an unusual power."

Veemon looked between the two of them, visibly confused.

"Huh, I didn't know humans had powers and could change shape too."

Psychemon shrugged "It sounds different then how we do it."

"I used to be able to, but I guess this world has different rules." He sighed and rubbed his neck obviously suppressing frustration on the subject. "Anyway powers or not I'm here to help."

Jin looked down at his partner with a faintly amused smile.

"I'll explain later." Turning back to Beastboy, he nodded. "I'm hoping that will be the general attitude of the people here. It seems the sooner we solve this world's problems, the sooner we can return to our own."

"Why are you so eager to get out of here, anyway? Don't you like the Digital World?"

"I have important things to do back home, that's all."

"Yeah, and this place is great looking and all. But I've got friends and family back home." He pointed at the sky like his world was visible in the sky.

"That's understandable." Psychemon commented.

His pleasant expression faltered at the mention of family, a sadly nostalgic look coming over his face.

"Yes, I can perfectly understand why returning home would be a high priority for you in that case."

"Jin? Uh...is somethin' wrong? You sound kind of sad."

Beastboy was often thick as a brick when it came to peoples feelings, but even he realized he had tread on sensitive ground.

"Eh, yeah you OK dude? Not to pry?"

As soon as it had come, the sad look vanished from his face, though it still lingered in the back of his eyes.

"It's fine, don't worry. I'm just a little...envious, that's all."

Even Beastboy felt a little embarrassed for having inadvertently fallen into this awkward conversation. "Well ya know, we'll figure things out right? There's so many of us here we're bound to make the best of this!"

"Of course. And even if our reasons for needing to return to our own worlds are different, it shouldn't stop us from working together."

"Man, whatever you've gotta do must be really important to be so eager to leave."

"Hey home is important to everyone." Beastboy mused. "Everyone wants to find the place they belong."

His partner seemed to consider that deeply and looked away as she did.

The words seemed to hit home with Jin as well and he nodded, closing his eyes.

"Or to defend what little of it they have left."

Beastboy and his partner exchanged questioning glances. She shrugged her shoulders and Beastboy went to plan B. Digging around in Psychemon's purse (Much to her announce) he produced a candy bar and held it out to the older man.

"First things first. We make this place feel more like home. Defend it, and find a way to get back to our other homes.

He opened his eyes when he heard the rustling and smiled faintly at the offered candy bar. He wasn't much of a fan of sweets, but he accepted it anyway.

"And maybe learn a thing or two about the world outside our own universes along the way."

"That's the spirit!" He gave an optimistic thumbs up.

Psychemon just rolled her eyes and zipped up her purse. "Whatever it takes."

"I must admit, I am curious about these apparent other worlds. Especially since people with powers don't announce them so...openly in mine."

"What's wrong with people with powers?"

"Nothing inherently, but there's unfortunately a large stigma against them where I'm from."

Beastboy grinned sheepishly.

"Well...where I come from it's kind of a hit or miss thing. Some areas are totally cool with it. Usually areas with alot of heroes who protect the city."

His look became more somber "But you still hear on the news sometimes and on the net about kids who develop powers and stuff, low level sort of powers even like color changing or whatever. And they get bullied or picked on for being different. People can be jerks sometimes." The Titans had been discussing some kind of anti-bullying campaign but it seemed like that would be the least of his worries now.

He sighed and shook his head. "I see some things are universal. I haven't seen much concern for potency of power, myself. From the most enhanced super soldiers to human thermometers, you'll still hear stories of people's lives being ruined because someone found out they were a Life Recycling Variant."

"But aren't they still people?"

"That's the thing I guess." Beastboy shrugged "Some people aren't so great."

Psychemon finally chose to speak up "So Human's and Digimon do have some things in common. Not all Digimon are nice, and not all humans are nice."

Beastboy smiled hopefully "That's why we're here! To help the ones that are."

"And it's why people like us must fight in our own universes, even if it causes most people to look down upon us. It's not an attitude anyone should abide by."

After all, that attitude was part of why the Federation couldn't coexist peacefully with the Immigrant Fleet. The Federation's inability to coexist was a major factor in the conflict that had claimed his home and his parents' lives. And that, along with the greed and self-absorbtion inherent in his world's culture was something he would change at absolutely any cost.

Veemon looked between the two humans with wide eyes and grinned.

"Woah, if all the Chosen are as confident as you two, we're gonna have the worlds saved in no time!"

"You got that right!" He cheered and stuck out his fist to Psychemon who starred at it. He then gently took her paw and tapped it to his own fist.

"Like that."

She simply continued blinking in confusion.

"Never mind." He sighed.
