play, play, play! (april 2013-- game start!)

Characters: EVERYONE!
When: 4 March 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!

The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

"Hi," Gizamon said in reply to Gabumon. She had to wonder if HE knew any better what was going on with these two humans or...whatever Kaldur was. She certainly hadn't seen gills on any of the OTHER humans.

This was Kaldur's first experience with an alternate universe, though he had of course heard of such things in fiction. That being the case it may take him a bit to come to the conclusion that not only is this not his Robin but that they are from completely different universes. Although it probably won't take too long.

He looked down at Gizamon, "I apologize. I thought I had found someone from home."

Gizamon shifted her gaze up to Tim. She didn't look impressed. "You mean this guy?"

"Yes, but I do not believe he is the Robin I am looking for. Although, I was also not aware that there would be more than one." Which might give Tim a better idea of who Kaldur was talking about, even if he did not realize. Then again with multiple realities out there you could never be sure.

"There is another Aqualad? I was not aware." He was under the impression that he had been the first under Aquaman. After all, Garth had turned the opportunity down and prior to that his King had not had a protegee.

Gabumon only smiles again. He's good at not doing much. It's anyone's guess if he's listening to the two boys talking or spaced out.

Tim listens patiently while Gizamon and Kaldur'ahm talk it out. The guy did seem genuine. That was a relief, and Tim nods again when Gizamon looks him over. He feels like he's being judged by a toad/hedgehog hybrid. He probably is.

"Actually," Robin interjects, eager for an explanation as much as the next guy. "That doesn't necessarily have to be true." About multiple Robins. Wait, wait, he's on to something here. His free hand goes up to gesture at nothing in particular as he talks. "There were multiple Robins in my world. We've been brought to this nexus, to this Digital World. That means what holds true in my universe doesn't.... necessarily have to be true in yours." Okay, that's crazy talk if he ever heard it, but.

It's a good enough excuse for now, isn't it? About Aqualad, well. They can. Talk about the multiverse now.

Real helpful Gabumon. Gizamon just huffs and decides to pay attention herself. Maybe SHE can figure it out on her own or at least pay attention enough to ask a billion questions later.

Kaldur, meanwhile, listens as Tim tries to explain how there can be more than one Robin or not. After a moment Kaldur nods, "This is another world that connects many and what you are saying is that the other worlds connected to it might share similarities, such as having a different Robin, Aqualad, and other heroes, people, and history we may not be familiar with in our own." It does make some sense and given everything that has happened it isn't too much of a stress. Besides, Kaldur has always had an open mind about things.

"I believe this just made matters a little more complicated than I realized."

He's almost thinking he should explain the multiverse theory in whole, recite it the way he's found in scripts and reports. A hand moves to the back of his head, and he wonders what Batman would make of this.

How this... world works. It's a lot to think about, definitely. Robin hadn't ruled that out in the equation. It was just put on the back burner while what are we doing here is answered. Then he'll go back to where is here. His cape flutters a little as a tame breeze passes by. He wants to feel lost, all of sudden, but it's impossible when he's now in company of someone else.

"That's what I was thinking. The room we came in through-- we were told there was a danger we had to stop. If the portal could bring us in, why not bring in the Justice League? It was obviously planned, since," he looks down at Gabumon. Oh, Gabumon. "We had someone waiting for us."

Kaldur considers it for a moment and then nods. "Koushirou claimed we were chosen which also implies some form of selection process. For now we can only take his word that he and the others here before us do not know the reason why, only that we have the ability to help. It will require further investigation."

Where to look was the question. Kaldur was far too used to having missions assigned and at least a general idea of where to start. True he was no detective like Batman or even Robin, but he had been on his team long enough to pick up the skills necessary for covert operations and infiltration. "Until we have answers to our questions I believe our only available route will be to keep our ears and eyes open for more information."

"I am also curious to hear more about how things are different from your world. It should prove to be an interesting conversation if nothing else." He pauses and then decides to ask, "I will admit, it will be difficult to think of you as Robin. You are very different from the Robin I know. I am not going to ask your civilian name as we have just met...but is there some other codename or alias you can go by?" Perhaps it was too much to ask, but he really doubted this Robin would give him his civilian name, after all, Batman was VERY strict about that sort of thing.

He politely listens. He's not thinking all the while that he knew already what Kaldur'ahm was getting at, just that the observations of theirs (of them both) were so far as superficial as anyone's, if he had to guess. Kids dropped off in an unknown world, different world from their own, and someone knows their name. It's very painfully basic.

"To be honest, I don't think we'll be getting home any time soon." He says. It might be a deviation from their previous topic, but it's pressing all the same. "We'll definitely have time to be acclimated. We were brought here to be used." Okay, that's a rough sounding word choice. He's quick to correct himself. "--to be of service." Did Kaldur understand that much? They were proclaimed saviors before anything had happened. If they asked... they'd be given, right? Information, that is. They were heroes or servants, and this isn't how any culture treats its servants.

Yeah, no, he's just thinking this over too much too early in the game.

Tim half tuned out the next request. He smiles slightly. "You're right, I can't tell you my name." He's even kind of sorry about it. "And it's difficult to think of there being another Robin operating at the same time I am."

Another name, hmm?

"I guess..." Oh no this is hard. "Does Al work for you?" Oh, this is going to confuse Gabumon to no end. Which might be why Tim looks down, brow raised in question and concern at the distracted monster. Gabumon catches on that he's being watched, and returns the look. O-kay. Tim turns back to Kaldur.

It was Kaldur's turn to listen and it was something he had always been good at doing. What Robin said made sense and it was a similar conclusion that he was coming to. All they could really do now was adjust and learn as they go.

"It will work." No other Al's that he knows of and honestly it shouldn't be a problem until another Robin shows up. Which, Kaldur's not even sure what the chances of that happening ARE, but he'd rather hash this out now than try to be confusing later. "It might not even be necessary if the Robin I know does not also become a Chosen."

"Any chance you could describe your Robin to me?" He asks, because... there's two. The acrobat and the brash one. Both were heroes in his eyes, and-- well, Tim quickly thinks of another way to ask the same question. "You're with the Teen Titans, right?"

"He is currently the youngest member of our team and can hack into just about any system. He also enjoys slipping into the dark when no one is looking and removing prefixes from words. He is good friends with Wally and is extremely intelligent when it comes to tactics and planning things. He would be the leader of our team if he were not so young. Not counting those with enhanced abilities, he is likely the fastest and most nimble on our team." Kaldur was not sure if that was specific enough, but unfortunately he only knew so much about his young friend. "If I recall correctly he has been with Batman for four years now."

The name gave him pause. It was not a name they had considered and, to be honest, being a covert operation meant that there technically wasn't a need for such a moniker. "We...do not use that title. We do not have an official designation."

Wally being the most concrete distinguishing factor. He hadn't known Dick was so proficient with technology even as Robin, but it's not surprise or stretch of the imagination. That guy could do anything, and Tim's pretty sure Nightwing could give Batman a run for his money sometimes. He's seen it. And that, if this world does some strange miracle, he could maybe see a Dick Grayson--

"Cool."

Even if he doesn't have a team. Now, that's just another oddity for anoth--

"Robin's in Young Justice."

And. Whoa. How long had Gabumon been listening in? Tim kind of half smiles down at him, and nods at Kaldur. "We have teams in my world. A few of us ended up working together and now we have a name. The first Robin founded the Teen Titans along with Speedy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Wonder Girl..." And he's not 100% why he started saying that. Info for info sounded like a decent exchange, anyway. He hadn't seen anybody from his team yet. Idiots might have gotten lost somewhere, if they had come at all.

"Young Justice...is that a different team then?"

Interesting. Kaldur is surprised to hear the founding members of the Teen Titans were some of the same as the founding of his own team. "Speedy is not as much of a team player and I have not met a Wonder Girl, but otherwise those are the same members that joined together on our first mission together." Superboy had followed, of course, since they rescued him and Miss Martian.
