The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.

Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

Someone else isn't quite taking to her partner as well. Terra (not Terra, Amy) frowns at the little rock...thing. She'd just opened the door to get a peek out and he barged right in, bouncing on his heels (er, feet? does he even have heels?).

This was, of course, after dodging the little ball of fun -- Culumon, was it? -- and reading over the instructions left. Okay, great. Hero again. Not if she has anything to say about it...

But the little guy, Gotsumon, so he said, looks like he might not help that process. "You and me, we're gonna be great fighters! Superheroes! Fight the bad guys, save the world! Ra, ra!" He pumps one fist into the air after the other.

"Look," Terra says, "I'm...flattered, but I'm really not the "hero' person. Maybe you should find another--"

A gasp! "I can't find another! You're my partner! And I'm yours." His eyes are big and sparkly. Great. Terra hates letting down kids.

She glances around and spots an older guy. Kinda odd, wearing robes. But still, she'll take any help she can get.

"Excuse me," Terra says to him. "Look, this little guy-- can you help me with him?"

They both turn to the girl who needs help.

"What do you need?" While Heny won't commit to anything before hearing the complete issue, he'll still ask. He can't think of any real issues off the top of his head. A little rock golem is pretty darn cool in Henry's books.

"Yes, dear. We simply can't help if we don't know the full picture." Though as far as Gaomon's concerned there should be no issue. After all, a digimon and a partner have finally found each other, what could possibly be more beautiful than that.

She laughs, nervously. "Right, sorry-- he keeps telling me we're gonna fight stuff and be...heroes."

Gotsumon pipes up, "Because we are."

Terra pats his head idly. "But I'm not a fighter. I can't really...do that." And Gotsumon deflates and she feels. Awful.

"But fighting stuff is awesome!" Henry doesn't see a single issue here. "You've jut gotta learn how to fight. That's all."

Gaomon tsks, "Oh dear. I suppose neither of you are truly required to fight... However, that's hardly fair to dear Gotsumon."

"Why would anybody not want to fight?" The thought of that was just strange to Henry. He spent so much of his life learning how to fight, that somebody who couldn't and didn't want to was barely understandable.

"Perhaps because not all enjoy the thrill of battle?" That comment makes Henry laugh. Yes, he's definitely going to get along with his Digimon companion. "Though, I do believe anyone can learn to fight if they so desire."

...Terra supposes she chose the wrong person to ask for help. "See!" Gotsumon's pushing against her hand now. "We're gonna save the world!"

She shuffles. She wishes she was in something other than her school uniform. "But I don't want to learn. I'm..." Think quickly. "...a pacifist."

Nice save.

"There's always more than one way to help. Perhaps all you'll need is some time together." The thought of a Digimon having their partner turn them away... she has to suppress her shudder. The very thought is completely horrible.

"I dunno how you're gonna save the world like that." Henry, blunt as ever. Besides, pacifism is boring. How does anybody build up their skills outside of killing things?

This guy is thicker than Beast Boy, jeez. Equally blunt and flat, Terra replies, "I don't want to save the world. I'd be lousy at it anyway, especially if I need to fight."

Gotsumon's now tugging at her, frowning like a puppy. No, she can't resist puppies. "But I'm made for you, you gotta wanna save the world."

His voice breaks her heart and she looks at the little. Blue. Dog with boxing gloves, oh this is her reality now. "...Time together. Okay. Great. Thanks. ...Hi. I'm Amy."

...Manners, right?

"My name is Gaomon, pleased to meet your acquaintance," Gaomon's extremely pleased by the display of manners. As far as she's concerned more people should be using them.

"I'm Henry. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you."

She rolls her eyes a little and almost replying to Henry-- but Gotsumon's enthusiastic cry interrupts her. "I'm Gotsumon! Hi! Nice t'meet you!"

Okay, maybe his excited attitude and somewhat squeaky voice are sort of endearing. "What he said. Take it you just got here too?"

"Yup, got that right. I'm brand new to the Digiworld." He doesn't even know what digital or data means. He's way out of his time around here.

"Great. Guess I can't ask for any tips..." She rubs her arm and sighs.

Gotsumon immediately interjects. "I could show you around! All the hot-spots, all the cool places!"

"Well, you're a little fire-cracker, aren't you?" Terra murmurs, though not mean-spirited.

"And of course, my knowledge is certain to come in handy."

"That sounds great!" Henry's not one to turn down a tour of the brand new world. Learning stuff is always great in his opinion.

If she's going to be stuck here... Terra smiles shakily. "Why not? Okay, Gotsumon, lead the way."

"Yeah! C'mon, c'mon, I'll show you the cool new landmarks first!"

She has the feeling this is going to take awhile.
