Who: Masaru, Terra, partners
What: "Wait, we have a room-mate?"
Where: Their apartment
When: February 11th
Masaru and Agumon were rarely home. As accustomed as they were to traveling in the wilderness, they were just plain more comfortable ruffing it... or, as it turned out, freeloading at a friend's place.
But today, they had a reason to return home... which was for a change of clothes. Once they walked in, however... they realized something.
"Agumon..." Masaru said, glancing over at his partner.
"Aniki..." Agumon replied.
"We're not alone!" they both exclaimed, as they got into a fighting stance. An intruder...! That meant a fight!

Never seen 'em. Maybe they were invisible.
But today he had a lot of reorganizing to do of a certain map he's been working on for a couple weeks and that means the flat surfaces of desks and tables are required. Dorumon is content to have taken over a bed - and it may not even be Terra's - but Dracmon's busy helping with the map he's working on, having swept everything off of one of the two bureaus and then shoved it up against the other for a nice big writing surface.
And then the door opens, and he glances up, surprised, the road he'd been drawing stopped midway. Oh. Well. That proved someone DID live there.
As both Agumon and Masaru adopt fighting stances, they're simply stared at by the brown haired man and the Dracmon, with matched blank expressions. If there's a fight going on, someone forgot to tell the 'intruders'.
"...Okay." Terra's apparently not interested, by the way he goes back to his map. "Hello, both of you. I don't suppose you know what's east of NetSurf Village?"
Wait that's not how dramatic first encounters go!
no subject
"Don't give me any of that 'hello', crap!" Masaru barked, pointing dramatically. "Who the hell are you supposed to be?! What are you doing in our room?!"
no subject
Terra's good at hiding what he's feeling.
Dracmon takes his pencil and gets back to working on the map. The purple ball of fur on the bed sleeps on.
no subject
"... come to think of it, aniki, this would explain the purple fur I found in my bed the last time we slept here..."
no subject
"I've been working on this. On foot. Which means days and days away from HospiTown. We usually drop in for a night or so, clean up and leave again. Sorry I never left a note. I wasn't sure anyone else really lived here either."
Only then does Dorumon even BEGIN to stir on the bed. It's probably not even Terra's bed. He blinks blurrily at the goings on and gives a cavernous yawn. Was there fighting?
no subject
Okay, now it was Masaru's turn to look foolish. He brought a hand to his forehead and sighed.
"So you're saying we kept missing each other?! That... that actually makes a lot of sense..."
Agumon turned, and frowned at Dorumon.
"That's my bed, you know. You never wondered why here were enough for five people?!"
You're one to talk, Agumon...
no subject
As if this is perfectly reasonable. "..But since you're here now you can have it back." The fuzzy digimon doesn't so much climb off the bed as he seems to sort of drip off the side and begin oozing across the floor to the other. Terra watches this for a few moments, bemused. He could have had a normal life, once.
After a moment the map's set down, and he offers one hand to Masaru. Okay, so their very first few minutes weren't the best, but it seemed to be worked out now. "My name's Terra. Sorry for the surprise. This is Dorumon and Dracmon, my partners."
no subject
Masaru just hrmphed. "Don't apologize. Men don't need to apologize!" he exclaimed, grinning a bit. "Just see where they messed up and try to improve!"
He now offered Terra his hand.
"Name's Masaru. Daimon Masaru! My partner's name is Agumon!"
no subject
Which is to say without complaint and as efficiently as possible so he can go do something else.
The offered hand is taken easily enough, and shook; there's no reason to not be friendly. "Where I'm from, real men aren't afraid to apologize when they know they've done something. But don't expect an apology if it's someone else's fault!" It only goes so far.
And in this, he could have been more considerate. "Masaru, then. Hello, Agumon. You two certainly looked ready to fight as soon as the door opened." Terra retrieves his map again; he still has work to do! "Would you really have fought in here? If the beds broke you'd have to sleep on the floor."
Dracmon looks up briefly, then holds up one hand. It has an eye on it. Is she just watching? "Maybe. Sometimes it's the victory that matters more than where you sleep afterwards."
no subject
Then he sighed. "I guess it falls on me to teach you, then..."
"The way I see it we both jumped to conclusions," Masaru said, stubbornly. "But let's move on, eh? ... And to be honest, I prolly would have have thrown you through the window first!"
He grinned at Dracmon. "Your partner has the right idea, though!"
no subject
Which is to say, mostly he sleeps.
[Terra is not saying one way or another if this is so, but doesn't stop Dorumon from hauling himself onto the other bed and promptly tucking back up into a comfortable looking ball of fluff. That Agumon was huge for an agumon, he's pretty sure arguing with the saurian digimon was not going to work in Dorumon's favor at all.
He just reviews what's happened since the door opened, bemused. 'We both jumped to conclusions', was it?]
You think so? Hm.
[...about throwing him through the window, or jumping to conclusions? Either way he's not really seemingly interested in pursuing it much.]
It's better to have a fight out in the open. No tricks, no traps. I guess you're alright.
[He waves a hand, almost dismissive. It's not just about winning! But ... also not going to argue it.]
....Don't suppose you know what's east of NetSurf?
[Back to that again. The answer's probably 'no'.]
Hey Agumon. What does your trainer feed you that let you get so big?
[Dracmon isn't as interested in sleeping as Dorumon is, it seems.]
no subject
Masaru moved to sit down, crossing one leg over the other.
"Net Surf? Uh... nope. I haven't been out that way..."
Agumon raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean, 'makes me so big'?! Is this because I look different from other Agumon again?!"
no subject
Dracmon meanwhile studies Agumon for a long, long moment, as if trying to determine if he really does look different aside from size. "No.. not really. You have a normal agumon's yellow.. and stumpy tail, and long arms and short little legs.. You're just bigger. I thought maybe it was like Dorumon, he's bigger than most dorumon, and I think it's because he eats til he's about to pop."
There had to be some sort of size correlation here! Though Dorumon doesn't match Agumon, it balanced pretty well with a fairly tall partner.
"What's wrong with being a little different?" Apparently to Terra, this has come up before.
no subject
"Hey, keep at it!" Masaru told Terra. "Nothing worth doing is easy!"
no subject
How will he see it to map it?
Dracmon rubs her chin thoughtfully. So he only got that huge later? Well, there's probably a lot of conveniences to having such a large partner, for a human! "It's still pretty impressive. You could probably fit most of a normal Agumon in your mouth." Not so much for trying to eat as sheer BITING, agumons also have big teeth!
"'m not volunteering to see if Dorumon fit." Dorumon seems to have given up for the moment on a nap. It'll have to wait. "Can you digivolve yet?"
no subject
"... huh, that's pretty interesting," Masaru said, tilting his head to the side. "Hey, if you ever need a bodyguard for these fact finding missions..."
no subject
A sentiment Terra shared, however reluctantly. Sometimes power backfired. He's listening to this other conversation, but he doesn't add to it right now. Masaru is glanced at instead, a smile crossing his face. Since when did Terra need a bodyguard?
Then again, his keyblade didn't work. Or his magic. "Company's always welcome. I don't know about a bodyguard, but extra eyes and hands are always good to have along."
no subject
"Sure sure," Masaru replied. "I'm just saying, fighting's what I specialize in!"
