Pasta Dinner Night -- Open to All

When: April 7, 2013, 6pm onwards
Where: The communal kitchen
What: Shepard hosts a communal dinner to make sure all the kids are okay, but adults and digimon are welcome as well!

[There's a good chance Shepard is going to regret emptying her wallet later, but for now, she's armed with a massive quantity of uncooked pasta and a bunch of jars of red sauce, along with butter and salt just in case of picky eaters. She'd normally just make the same thing for everyone, but she's dealing with what could be very young, very frightened children, so it's best to err on the side of caution.]

[She settles into the kitchen at 6, and after banishing Monodramon to their apartment (he's still in trouble for the incident with Gomamon), sets about to cooking.]

[If you show up early, you'll find her manning a large number of cooking pots full of heating sauce and boiling water. If you're on time, you'll find Shepard handing out plates of pasta and offering a choice between sauce or no sauce, then herding you to a table filled with anyone who got here before you. Why not get to mingling? There's enough food and company to go around, tonight.]

[Lopmon pretty much has to drag Fluttershy into the dining area.]

[She's digging in her heels a little, looking rather uncomfortable.] N-no, L-Lopmon...! R-really, it's okay...

Oh c'mon! I know you're hungry. Besides, you wanted to try and meet more people, right?

W-well, y-yes...

[Just not so many at once.]

It'll be fun! Besides, I'm right here, so you don't have to worry.

[She hesitates, then sighs softly and nods.] O-okay...

You sure don't look happy. Sure you want to be here?

[Henry's sitting next to Gaomon, who's far too busy eating to mind her partner]

[She jumps, a little startled. Then she glanced up at him shyly.]

S-sorry. I-I'm not...very good around...a-a lot of people...

[Or just people in general.]

Really? I know a girl like that back home.

[strengthinkindness]

R-really? W-was she...scared of people too?

She sure didn't like to be looked at.

Pretty funny for a dancer, huh?

[strengthinkindness]

[She manages a small smile.] S-so...what does she do?

She's a dancer in the Ylissian army.

[strengthinkindness]

O-oh...H-how does she dance if she's...shy?

[Shepard can hear the argument from her place near the door, and pokes her head out to say hello.]

Come on in guys.

[She smiles reassuringly.]

[strengthinkindness]

O-oh...[She looks a little embarrassed, but smiles.] Th-Thank you...

[She enters hesitantly.] I...hope it's not...too much trouble for me to be here...

[Shepard shakes her head.]

Don't worry about it, you're stuck here just as much as anyone else.

[strengthinkindness]

[She smiles a little, slowly feeling more at ease.] S-still...I think it's...it's wonderful that you're doing this for everyone. It's very kind of you, and I'm...I-I'm very grateful that you'd let me join in with...all the people who are already here...

[Oh, what a polite girl.]

Well, you're welcome. But really, it's nothing. We'll do better if we all get to know each other a little. Makes it easier to work together. It's worth more than a few hours of food prep.

[strengthinkindness]

[She smiles.] Y-yes, that...that would be nice.

O-oh, I'm...I-I'm Fluttershy...

[Shepard smiles.]

That's a cute name. Mine's Jane, but I usually just go by Shepard.

[strengthinkindness]

[She blushes a little.] Th-thank you...

S-so...would you prefer being called Jane..or Shepard? [She just wants to make sure she calls people by what they're most comfortable with.]

[She spun around, and a smile spread across her face when she sees who it is.]

Ch-Changeling...!

[She's so relieved to see someone she relatively knew (even if it hasn't been too long), that she can't help but hug him.]

[She pulls back a little, smiling shyly.] I-I'm okay...Th-there...sure are a lot of people here, h-huh?

Yep! Everyone loves free food! And it's great because we're kinda all in the same boat right, so it's good to get to know one another.

[strengthinkindness]

[A nod.] I-I had no idea that so many people were...brought here.

And more showing up every day. I keep crossing my fingers that one of my friends will show up soon.

[brings hand up to show said, crossed fingers]

[She seems a little surprised by the idea.] Could that really happen?

[She never even though about that...that one of her friends could one day show up here too.]
