New Arrivals Digicards On Mario Karts!

Last month had been relatively calm, with only a new Dark Area being found.

But once again, that calm was disrupted.  For the third consecutive time, an earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners.  Mayhaps even some of the Choosen that have been here for a while, have predicted this to happen, today.

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

[ Sissel pulls back, though he's still more comfortable on all fours than he should probably say aloud. ]

Losing your mind? I've seen that before, and you're definitely not it.

I don't know how I got here and I'm hallucinating!

[Gomamon looks heavily alarmed.]

You're hearing things?

You didn't feel yourself getting tugged in here? [ His head and ears tilt, moving to a more reclining position now that it seems Will is willing to talk. ]

Hallucinations are like when it's something only you can see or hear... right?

[missingthebigone]

[Will shakes his head. He's not sure how he got into the terminal room at all, but then, he's been losing large chunks of time recently.]

Yes, and I've been having them for weeks, alright?

[interconnect]

But we can all hear and see what's going on right now. This isn't some hallucination. Shouldn't that be a good thing?

[missingthebigone]

Unless I'm hallucinating you as well. Animals can't talk.

[Gomamon frowns.]

I'm not an animal, I'm a digimon!

[interconnect]

I don't think these guys count as regular old animals here. [ Sissel himself, on the other hand... ] Far as I understand it, we're beyond "normal" right now.

But that doesn't mean we're not real! If you're here, why can't we be, huh?

[missingthebigone]

This goes against every logical rule of reality.

[Somebody's a bit stressed!]

[interconnect]

You can't possibly know every rule!

[ What about ghosts, Will? What about time travel? What about time-traveling ghosts?! ]

[missingthebigone]

[Will believes in neither of those things.]

Animals don't even have the throat structures to talk!

[interconnect]

[ Will is talking to someone who is all that and a bag of cats. ]

Which is even more reason that they're not animals.

They're a seal and a rabbit!

[Gomamon shakes her head.]

I'm a Gomamon, Will!

[There's a long pause.]

I thought you said your name was Gomamon.

It's both!

[interconnect]

I don't think this is what seals and rabbits are supposed to look like.

It's 'cause we're digimon. You ready to get that through your head yet? [ Terriermon actually just straight up sits himself down now that it seems like they're going to be there for a while. Sissel can't blame him for getting comfy. ]

What's so wrong with them being real?

It doesn't make sense, it's like something out of a kid's TV show. And what sentient species goes universally by the same name?

[Gomamon frowns thoughtfully.]

How does it work with people?

We give each other names, for one.

[There's a slight pause while Gomamon considers this.]

Then why don't you name me?

[interconnect]

[ Sissel looks down at Terriermon with Gomamon's suggestion, who simply shrugs in response. ]

Don't look at me. I'm still okay with Terriermon! Besides, it'd be pretty funny if you named me, wouldn't it? Like I'm a pet.

[ Sissel cracks a grin. That would be pretty hilarious, but the time for jokes is apparently not right now. ] Aren't you supposed to ask questions and figure things out when nothing makes sense? Maybe it'll work out better than you think.

[missingthebigone]

Humans name their kids too, you know--

[. . .]

I'm arguing with a rabbit.

[He rubs a hand over his face.]

Alright, Gomamon, you want a name?

[He thinks for a long moment.]

Clarice. At least I have something to call the talking seal in my brain, now.

[interconnect]

That's not the joke, silly! It's 'cause Sissel's—

You know, Terriermon, now's probably not the time to pop more bubbles. [ It's like the Prime Minister all over again, yeesh. ] Clarice is a good name. She's really not in your brain, though.

[missingthebigone]

[Clarice seems utterly pleased with her new name, muttering it quietly to herself with a smile.]

It's either that or she's robotic.

I'm not a robot!!

[interconnect]

That would be just plain "off". [ Sissel waves that option away, shaking his head. ] Come on, we should talk with some other people. We can't all be hallucinations, right?

[missingthebigone]

Yes. Yes you can.

[Will. Come on. Now you're just being stubborn.]

[interconnect]

[ Sissel reaches out and pushes at Will's shoulder, intending to shove him over. ]

[missingthebigone]

[And well, it works, except that Clarice is faster and half-catches Will. This would probably have worked less well except for the fact that Will's brain infection is causing a bit of a problem with his spacial perception.]

Hey!

[interconnect]

You didn't push yourself over just now, did you?

[ That's not how this works, Sissel, but points for effort.]

Well, no but--

[Aaaand then he notices the cat ears.]

You. Ears.

[He blinks at them as if waiting for them to fade out of his vision.]

[ His ears continue to exist. ]
