New Arrivals Digicards On Mario Karts!

Last month had been relatively calm, with only a new Dark Area being found.

But once again, that calm was disrupted.  For the third consecutive time, an earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners.  Mayhaps even some of the Choosen that have been here for a while, have predicted this to happen, today.

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

[Store searching montage! And by some digi-miracle, they found one!]

I didn't expect a place to actually have them.

M-me either..! [He starts sifting through them.] I guess the card game was a hobby to the people of this Tokyo, too. Maybe some things are universal?

So it's... forty to sixty cards in a deck, and fifteen in the extra deck, right? And I have to think about how they'll work together.

[He knows that the game crosses into other universes. The Astral and Barian worlds are parallel worlds where the game also exists, but something completely different like this is quite amazing.]

Start with something basic until you find something you like.

[He's busy looking through all of the cards still.] Are Ritual monsters basic? I really like the idea of them. The magic powers and all of that merging in order to create a new force, one that fights for balance and all that.

[He fans it out and starts looking through the cards, stopping at the Ritual monster.]

Divine Grace Northwemko... She's really pretty! And a spellcaster too... that's perfect! Okay then, I'll give it a try!

[Please note that if they do play he's going to get positively slaughtered. How does I read bluffs? D:]

[He'd be playing a former professional. The chances would be very slim indeed. Meanwhile, Gotsumon doesn't have the same certainty as Ed.]

[And unlike certain other newbies who are terrible at card games, Ed doesn't even have a magical necklace to steal.]

[Since Gotsumon has no idea what she'd like, she ends up picking a deck based solely on the one she can see on the front of the package: Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon.]

Three boosters is 27 cards, Guilmon. You need 40.

Okay... then I need... This many!

Well... yeah, but it's really best if you just use one of the preconstructed--

[Clearly not listening, Guilmon is opening her boosters and putting all the cards together.] There! I got 45 cards now, geko. Can we play?

... [Sigh.] If you... really want to...

[Guilmon that doesn't even really qualify as a deck.]

He's the type that doesn't take no for an answer, isn't he?

She really doesn't.

No just means I have to ask again and again until it's yes!

...that isn't how it works, Guilmon...

Reminds me of someone I know.

[Guilmon starts shuffling. Then she drops her cards because claws are bad for shuffling and just starts piling them all up again, clearly that will randomize them.]

Well... we're both kind of like that sometimes. My friends tell me I can be kind of thick-headed...

[She just needs practice. If dogs can duel, so can bipedal lizards.]

Stubborn is good? Haha... then that's good!

Okay! I'm all set... who wants to play against me, geko?

Me!? Well...I guess it would be more fair that way.

[Bad is an understatement. Guilmon does not have a functional deck.]

[Gotsumon pauses, then looks at Shark.]

Okay, okay, so it is pretty fun.

[fuhrinkaed]

Man...! Rematch! You got lucky! I won't lose twice, geko!

[Ed just smiles.] It makes a lot more sense now that I'm seeing it in motion.

I may not be much challenge yet but... let's get down to business?

[marinebiting]

Nuh uh! You just suck!

[Ed wants to play then? Fine by him. A duelist doesn't turn down challenges. It's hardly a fair matchup, but the only way to get better is to practice.]

[fuhrinkaed]

Oh yeah, geko?!

[As it turns out, Ed seems to have picked up the rules really well! Sure he's an obvious noob with an obvious noob deck, but unlike certain protagonists he doesn't forget to activate any of his traps, spells or monster effects at least!

...Still not going to be a very good fight, though. Dude can't bluff at all and Shark's deck is way better than Ed's.]
