[closed] the phone is ringing...
Who: Yomiel, Hope, Campbell, and Sissel.
What: New guy comin' through!
When: June 13th, 2013, late morning.
Where: Yomiel meets Sissel while wandering around outside, and then later on he moves into F1 002 and discovers the other relatively new people.
[Yomiel makes for a strange sight against the already weird mish-mash of Terminal Tokyo. Wearing his trademark red suit, he carries a white puppy-like Digimon tucked in the crook of an elbow. His other hand clings tight to his red jacket, which just barely covers his head and partially shields Salamon from the rain. Really, he's soaked. His yellow hair is starting to lose altitude and come down around his ears.]
This is some nasty weather, [he grumbles as he darts across the open, trying to take shelter in the doorway of a small store.] I wonder if it's a coding error or if someone's doing it on purpose.
[ooc: here is the roommate thread! You are free to start your own offshoot or take turns, whichever you'd like.]

FLOOR 1, #002
Oh, right. Roommates.
[He knocks on the door. After waiting a few seconds, he moves to let himself in.]
Hey, anyone home?
no subject
He honestly doesn't know what's going on, so obviously he has to investigate.
There's some guy with a Salamon in their room and... uh? He has his suspicions, because Iori is gone and this man is new, but...]
Uh... Can I help you?
no subject
What is it...?
sorry about the delay, wasn't feeling great 8(
I'm Yomiel. I'm supposed to live here, apparently.
no worries, it's cool
... Oh.
[They haven't even gone too long since Iori's disappearance and how they've got a new guy coming in. Hope should feel a little glad that it's another guy so he wont have to worry about girly parts around the dorm, but...
Eh.]
The bathroom is over there if you want to dry off first. [Points.]
no subject
But... Iori just left.
no subject
... Not too far from the truth.
He spots Cam as he makes his way toward the bathroom. He tries not to look too intimidating.]
Oh, uh, sorry about your friend who left.
no subject
Sorry, it's just that we've been living together for about two months now and we haven't had a change in roommates like the others.
[Elbows Cam, because TACT, good fal'Cies, have some tact.]
no subject
Y-yeah, it's fine, sorry, uh. Sorry. [He should introduce himself but he's having a hard time not wanting the floor to open up and swallow him, honestly.]
no subject
It's fine.
[Salamon hops off to look around the bathroom as Yomiel towels his hair. The damage is done, though. He'll have to gel it back up later. For now, it's just kind of hanging limply around his face. He hangs up his jacket, but he's sort of stuck wearing his damp shirt and pants for now.]
So... you guys hungry? I can try to make something. I'm a little rusty, but I could probably come up with something edible.
no subject
[Well this is turning into a strange introduction.] There's no kitchen here. Just a... microwave.
[Aka an Earth human thing he doesn't even want to bother with.]
no subject
[Quite strange indeed. Cam glances at the microwave as Hope mentioned it; not like there's much to make anyway, mostly popcorn.] Yeah... You don't have to, there's nothing in the room to really...make. Or use.
no subject
Okay, new plan. What's the fastest place that delivers?
no subject
... None.
You know, if you really want food, you can go downstairs to the actual kitchen, since the Damemon are the ones providing food for everyone. That's why there's no kitchen here.
no subject
[There's a rummaging from Cam's room and Lucette pokes her head out. A Lucemon poking around a door frame, what a sight.]
no subject
You guys lack serious imagination. I'll have to check it out--
[He considers the worn-out expressions on their faces.]
-- sooner rather than later. [He's distracted by the flash of blonde hair, and he turns to glance at the Lucemon.]
Hey there.
no subject
Someone put this bowl of noodles in a microwave and it exploded. I'm not in a hurry for that to happen in here. [Adult Earth people are even weirder than the teenagers, it seems. Not to mention Hope isn't keen on eating processed food for a good long while. All the preservatives upset his stomach.
The Renamon in Hope's room decides to take a peek too, considering Lucette's decided to reveal herself. But Bravera is... well, more brave and steps out confidently, sizing Yomiel up and doing a mental threat assessment.]
no subject
Meanwhile, Lucette emerges fully, blinking and then nodding. Her smile's shaky, but it's more stable than Cam's.] Hello. That was sure fast, my. You're the new roomie? I'm Lucette.
[...Did Cam ever introduce himself?] Uh, 'm Cam. [Oops.]
no subject
Nice to meet you.
[He leans down and towels Salamon before he can do the puppy spray thing and get water all over everything.]
It's really not hard to use a microwave. [He sends Salamon off.] All I can say is, you can't expect a Damemon to cook for you when you move out in the real world. You either pick up bachelor skills or you starve until you find a roommate who can cook better than you.
[Salamon is smiling happily. He's not nervous like Yomiel is.]
I'm Salamon! It's nice to meet you.
[Yeah, Yomiel's not so good with naming. Speaking of which--]
So you're Cam, and this is... [He looks at Hope. He's tempted to label him as 'the smartass in the scarf'.]
no subject
I don't trust Earth technology-- even the cars are inefficient.
[Aka crap.]
Excuse me for preferring things that are more efficient than a box that can emit some form of energy.
no subject
[Lucette floats up next to Cam, who's feeling rather less like arguing right now. He shrugs and opens his mouth to say something, but reconsiders and keeps it shut.]
Yomiel and Salamon. Well, it is still very nice to meet you both, mm, mm.
no subject
[HE'S DOING REALLY GOOD AT THIS FIRST IMPRESSIONS THING. Salamon returns to Yomiel, pressing his paws on his leg until Yomiel gets the hint and boosts him up to his shoulder.]
Yeah, you too.
no subject
He's stopped by one of the storefronts with his umbrella to simply watch the water come down. Terriermon's stuck to his back like usual, although his ears are plopped over Sissel's shoulders to avoid the water. (Sissel totally understands this feeling.)
When he looks to the side, something bright and colorful catches his attention and stops him immediately. ]
Is that...?
Is what?
[ Sissel doesn't answer, and instead charges forward through the rain, one arm raised to block the droplets blowing into his face, until he gets to the doorway, umbrella nearly forgotten as he drops it behind him and slides to a stop. ]
Yomiel!
no subject
Yomiel, look!
[He looks up from the... weird communicator he's got just in time to see a red bandana. His heart leaps into his throat, then back down again. Had someone taken Sissel's bandana? Or was this something else? It was definitely someone calling his name--
-- no, that's definitely a black cat...boy. A boy. With cat ears. What in the world? He looks like some kind of mascot for a pet store, not the Sissel he expects.
Bewildered, but with a grin tugging at the edges of his mouth nonetheless, Yomiel stares down at the kid. (His kid, a voice whispers. Yomiel had adopted him after all.)]
... Sissel? [Yeah, he can't keep the incredulity out of his voice. A bit of blond hair flops over his ears as he adjusts his jacket.] You aren't having another identity crisis, are you?
no subject
[ Sissel shakes his head, unable to fully keep the smile off his face. This was the last thing he expected when he was dragged into this world as part of some team of saviors. ]
C'mon, Sissel, get closer. We're gonna get soaked like this! Why did you drop the umbrella? Who is this, anyway?
no subject
[Salamon stretches out, shaking himself off like a tiny dog. Yomiel winces as more water gets on him. And in his face.] Are you a friend of Yomiel's? Hi, I'm Salamon.
This is Sissel. Not my fiancee, but my best friend from back then.
no subject
I haven't heard from Jowd since this happened. But it's been about... a week now?
Ten days!
Okay, ten days. [ He smiles toward Salamon, and it only grows more genuine when Yomiel introduces him. ] Hey, little 'un. Is it safe to presume you're Yomiel's partner?
no subject
To his credit, Salamon isn't jealous at all.] Yeah! I'm making sure he isn't lonely anymore.
[Yomiel frowns and looks a touch embarrassed.] Uh, I'm fine. So who's this little guy? [The loudmouth hitching a ride on Sissel's back, he means.]
no subject
It's a good job to do. [ Sissel raises an arm so Terriermon can climb around and hop onto the ground between them. ]
I'm Terriermon! So you're the guy in red, huh? [ Because of course Sissel has a hard time talking about people by their names. ] Don't worry. I've been taking care of him. We even got him a job!
no subject
He smirks and leans down to look at Terriermon. Salamon hops down too, wanting to make friends.]
Hi, Terriermon! Nice to meet you.
Yep, that's me. How'd you get Sissel to find a job? He's pretty lazy, you know. You gotta keep him motivated.
no subject
In fact, if Yomiel looks up, he might notice a bandage on each of Sissel's fingers in a line where he turned around and smacked his hand into a sharp edge. Yuck. ]
Good to meet'cha too, Salamon! And, well, he wants to learn what humans do! And this job gives him plenty of time being outside and watching them to figure it out, right?
I'm not that bad. [ But, you know, he really is. ]
no subject
[Yomiel is nothing if not observant. That's like, the only sharp edge he's kept. He frowns as he sees the bandages.]
Cats don't usually hold jobs except mousing. [a pause] I really hope you're not mousing-- unless you want ghost rats everywhere.
[He pulls his eyes off the bandages and tries to sound nonchalant about things, even though he's kind of worried.]
Mind if we get out of the rain? I like cold baths about as much as you do.
no subject
[ Sissel notices Yomiel seems to have switched tracks somewhere, but he's not exactly following the issue here. He usually doesn't until someone points it out. At the suggestion of moving, Sissel nods and leans down halfway with an arm out to Terriermon — his partner takes the hint and clambers up onto his back once again while Sissel glances about for the lost umbrella. ]
Where are we going?
There's that diner down the street, isn't there? I saw it earlier.
Oh, yeah. I liked it there.
no subject
A diner sounds good.
[Salamon slips beneath his other arm.]
no subject
It's over this way.
We'll need a detour to avoid all those karts, though. Shouldn't take too long.
no subject
Was this city always into go-karts?
no subject
No, that's something new.
The city started reprogramming itself a few days ago. There's a new track every time we wake up, so maybe it will run out of them soon.
Considering how inconvenient it is... I sure hope so.
no subject
[He makes sure to keep the umbrella tilted to keep them... slightly drier as they walk.]
It looks like some of them are having fun. Loud engines were never really my thing, though.
no subject
[ Every bit of dryness is appreciated. They'll soon be moving through some alleys that will catch a lot of the rain, but the umbrella will still help the most. ]
They make my ears hurt! Not that that's hard to do...
Yeah, there is that.
no subject
[Oh, the alley is a welcome reprieve, even if Yomiel is expecting it to look a big more run-down and full of homeless people than it is.]
For some people, there's something appealing about going really fast. That's why amusement parks exist.
no subject
[ Not that he's saying it fixed any problems (it caused quite a lot, really) but it's the closest analogous scenario he has. Cat, remember? ]
But that big wheel in Pallet City doesn't go fast.
That one goes really high instead. People really like dangerous things, don't they?
no subject
[Yomiel smirks a bit.]
Don't people get scared?
Yeah, but that's what makes it fun. There's a point where you get so scared that you can't help but be excited.
no subject
Like when you're fighting, or exploring a new place! Right?
no subject
[Yomiel tilts his head at that analogy.]
You got it. I'm not sure how much I love fighting, but you guys are better built for it than I am.
[Speaking of which. He groans quietly as they round a corner, surprising himself.]
Ugh. Are we there yet?
no subject
[ Sissel grins at the groan, then points ahead once they're past the corner. ] There it is. It wasn't all that far, was it?
