Go Rescue the Derp Fist
Who: People in the Defenders and Divers groups
What: The Search for Masaru doesn't go so well
When: June 28-June 30
Where: The Dark Field found on Server
The Trailmon to Server left hours ago. Twenty-one people were aboard and split their separate ways at a terminal close to the Village. Some went to protect the Yokomon and Koromon that were left unaffected by the corruption while most of the others had a mission at hand: rescuing the dummy Masaru Daimon (I mean, who is crazy enough to fall into a dark field after punching a digimon in the face?).
No Digimon seems to be around as group approaches the field. It as Ryou said, too, full of bright colors and random numbers. The size isn't great, so one must wonder how a boy got lost in there. Or perhaps you're unable to think on that when you realize how still everything is.
No wind seems to pass and no sound can be heard.
Whatever's going on, it can't be normal for the Digital World either, can it?
[[OOC: So here's how this will work! We will give you all a few rounds to prepare for going into the Dark Field. This includes roping off the Divers and making sure your groups are ready. For this we're going to need you guys to be a little speedy at first. Once we feel that everyone is ready, we will post of the individual group fight threads. The only difference this time is that we will be setting up a thread for the Divers.
The Digimon you will be fighting will also make their appearance! Please note it will take several hours after the Divers take their leave that the Digimon will appear. We will introduce these Digimon and explain the mechanics of their behavior, and will play them intermittently (Or we will try to! Bear with us if we miss a tag or two!)
Divers, unlike the last time, you will find that the tethers do not last very long. After about a half hour or so in the dark field, the ropes will disappear. Those on the outside will notice this too as the ropes you thought were secure suddenly are no longer there. On the 30th, the Divers will find a clue hinting that Masaru has found his way out of the dark field on his own, though you will not actually see him. It is then that you will be able to find your way out.
Please note for those reading the Divers thread, there is content involving at times graphic death, violence, and issues pertaining to eating disorders. Proceed with caution.
Good luck! If you have any questions please let us know. PM us, Plurk us, or email us. We should be around!]]

Even if he hadn't been part of this particular formation before, he knows that the rope snapping is not a good thing, because it's the best way for the divers to come back.]
Rope, we need more rope. [Or something like it. It's a long shot, throwing more rope down into the hole, but he's not willing to jump in there himself, or let the others do it.]

A wave of darkness flies at Garudamon, a Nightmare Claw, meant to paralyze him entirely.]
no subject
Unfortunately, reacting to it would mean moving away and letting the others get hit. So he moves to grab Chika, while trying to talk to the others.]
Everyone, stay away from the blast that's coming!
[And with that, Garudamon jumped out of the way, hoping to avoid getting blasted by that Nightmare Claw. Would he be able to get away in time? Well, who knew?]

Harpoon Torpedo!!
[While the torpedos are finding their target, the massive Ikkakumon turns his head at Garudamon's warning. Hiccup stands just behind Fearless, barely able to see what's going on with both huge Digimon blocking his view. Then he looks up, hearing Hope's call for rope. Everything's happening all at once, making it impossible for the viking to focus on one thing.
It's too late to even think about doing anything, because now that blast is firing directly into Fearless' direction.]
Fearless!! LOOK OUT!
[Unfortunately for Fearless, his bulk and size make him terribly slow when not on water. He's at a sore disadvantage here, and only has time to turn his head to see the blast coming. There's absolutely no time for him to get out of the way, but he makes a massive lunge for safety anyway that rocks the ground all around him. Hiccup staggers back as the ground trembles, hoping that Fearless made it out of the way in time...or else they'll be in big trouble.]

Bravera is small and quick, Garudamon can fly but Ikkakumon? No, he doesn't look like he's built for moving fast. And he's definitely in trouble.
Hope shouts Bravera an order. Get it before it gets him, and her tails begin to burn.]
Onibidama!
[Bravera launches herself at the fast-moving dark energy, eith the intent to take it out directly, but Hope is hoping that even if they don't get rid of it, the blow is enough to weaken it and not cause Ikkakumon too much damage.]
no subject
Myotismon opens its mouth to scream out an attack, but all that comes out is just that, a scream, digitized and shaking, like it cannot speak.
It flies fast as it can, towards Bravera and Hope.]
1/2
A small rectangle with an odd emblem on it, contained in a pendant-like tag, appears in front of him.
His crest. The Crest of Knowledge.]
2/2
A small rectangle with an odd emblem on it, contained in a pendant-like tag, appears in front of him.
His crest. The Crest of Purity.]
Re: 2/2
They were busy, and they still needed to take these things out.]
Garudamon! Can you use Shadow Wing with me in your arms?
[Garudamon doesn't answer her, but before she can ask again, he curls up a bit, the red energy of the attack forming around them.]
Shadow Wing!
[The attack launches from the Ultimate Digimon, speeding right towards that Myotismon. They were definitely putting the "one of the fastest attacks in the Digital World" aspect of this attack to the test. Hopefully they'll be able to hit it before it gets to Bravera.]
no subject
Fearless, are you alright?
[The Ikkakumon grumbles and gives his head a hearty shake, before nodding.]
Never better, thanks to Bravera over there.
[His whiskers twitch, before something that looks like a smile lights up his gruff face.]
Hic! You got yer crest!
..My...my crest...?
[Finally he takes the time to give it a closer look, watching as it glows dimly in his hand.]
It's a very powerful symbol. Looks like that one's the Crest of Purity. Didn't know you had such a pure heart inside ya, but there ya go.
Better keep a tight hold onto that tag, Hic. That'll help me get stronger. Now stand back while I teach this jerk a lesson! Harpoon Torpedo!!
[Hiccup puts the tag around his neck and drops it beneath his tunic while Fearless lets loose another attack, hoping it- combined with Garudamon's attack- will do some damage.]
no subject
They're a little distracted when something shimmers in front of them though, and despite the urgency of the situation, Hope hesitates.]
Take it and let's go.
What?
Just take it so we can move! I will explain later.
[Hope snags the... necklace, whatever it is, and sticks it into a pocket. Because oh right, they might die.]
If it comes closer, get ready to fight. [He doesn't want to, they're not going to be able to do much and that's not conducive to survival, but if it's the only thing they can do if they're caught, then so be it.]
Yes.
no subject
Crackles. Crackles.
Falls.
...At least, so it seems.]
no subject
And if the way Garudamon wasn't letting Chika down was any indication, he was thinking it too.]
Everyone. Keep your guard up. That was far too easy.
no subject
This was too easy, and assuming they'd won by any means would be a sure fire way to get themselves all hurt badly, or worse.]
Stay back. Don't know what that thing's gonna do, an' I don't have a good feelin' bout this...
Yeah, you and me both.
no subject
Bravera though, she's backing up to her original position, before the Digimon had appeared to attack them, and that snaps Hope back into reality.]
It's most likely a ruse. [He's gotten himself hurt a lot for not recognizing similar signs.] Do Digimon usually die like this?
[No really, it's a serious question. He'd asked Bravera about it once, but she didn't want to answer.]
no subject
A few moments pass, and it does not move.]
no subject
[Both she and Garudamon are tense, but well... what else could they do besides try to attack it again. Maybe it was dead. Or dying and the Dark Zone just messed up his data.
Still... taking her eyes off of it would probably be a bad idea.]
We should destroy the body completely. Make sure it can't get back up.
no subject
I 'unno. Looks done like dinner s'far as I can tell.
[Hiccup's not so sure. Everything about this place is nothing but allusions and misconceptions, ones intent on tricking you into letting down your guard long enough to make you vulnerable to attack.
Biting his lip he looks back at the Myotismon, and then over to Garudamon.]
You're right. We'll be better off not taking any chances.
no subject
Maybe Myotismon is trying to laugh. But it all comes out high-pitched and full of static, as it unleashes another Grisly Wing at the remaining Chosen and their partners.]
no subject
[Chika couldn't believe how fast that thing got up, but right now she and Garudamon can't do anything about it, since you know. Bats. Lots and lots of bats.
Garudamon lets out a growl, before going to fly up into the air to escape the attack, preparing and firing off another Shadow Wing while he was trying to shield Chika from any damage.]
no subject
Hope!!
[Before he can turn back around good the bats are upon them again, screeching as they bite and nip at Hiccup and Fearless wherever they can reach. Fearless lets loose another Harpoon Torpedo into the cloud of them, but it only succeeds in punching a hole through the center that's filled up by bats seconds later.
Wincing, Hiccup backs up until Fearless is to his back, giving him room to try and beat back the bats as best he can. Still though, since Fearless is far from nimble on land, he's helpless as the bats actually land on his back, sinking their fangs into every area the poor Digimon can't reach.]
Aaagghhh Hic, y'gotta do somethin' here! These pests are chewin' me t'pieces!
[But what CAN he do?
That's when Hiccup's struck with an idea. He knows he can't just let Fearless be eaten alive this way, so without warning he leaps onto the Ikkakumon's side, grabbing fistfuls of his coarse fur to steady himself before climbing onto his back, careful not to stab his metal leg into the Digimon's side.]
Kid!? What are ya doin'? Get down, you'll be ripped apart!
[Sorry Fearless, nothing doing. Hiccup sets his jaw and manages to make his way to the top, bracing himself as the bats swarm all around his head. He can feel them biting at his face and shoulders, but more importantly his neck. In a frenzy he grabs the ones around his neck and throws them away, before reaching down to unbuckle his prosthetic.
WHUNK.
Suddenly, his own leg has become his weapon as he uses it like a baseball bat to beat the actual bats into submission, keeping them off of Fearless as he focuses on zeroing in another Torpedo, directing it right at the Myotismon.]
no subject
Not like it stops. Even as the Shadow Wing again burns up its cape and some of its skin into code, it chases Chika and Garudamon, as the bats get beaten down one by one by Hiccup's leg.]
no subject
Not while I'm carrying you!
[Oh. Right. That was a problem. Well... umm... crap. What to do what to do crazy Ultimate zombie digimon vampire coming after them and-]
Fire Hurricane!
[Garudamon flapped his wings, fire sparking around his body as it shot down towards the approaching Myotismon. Hopefully the attack would hit the thing, because there wasn't really much he could do right now.
Well, other than fly up a little move and then dive feet first towards the Myotismon, of course, using the flames as cover to hopefully mask his presence and attack.]
no subject
Geeze, what gives with this guy!? He just won't die already!
no subject
The flame-covered dive, however, does a bit more. Myotismon crashes, down, down, down... to the ground.
Where it lies still.
And still does not disintegrate.]
