Go Rescue the Derp Fist
Who: People in the Defenders and Divers groups
What: The Search for Masaru doesn't go so well
When: June 28-June 30
Where: The Dark Field found on Server
The Trailmon to Server left hours ago. Twenty-one people were aboard and split their separate ways at a terminal close to the Village. Some went to protect the Yokomon and Koromon that were left unaffected by the corruption while most of the others had a mission at hand: rescuing the dummy Masaru Daimon (I mean, who is crazy enough to fall into a dark field after punching a digimon in the face?).
No Digimon seems to be around as group approaches the field. It as Ryou said, too, full of bright colors and random numbers. The size isn't great, so one must wonder how a boy got lost in there. Or perhaps you're unable to think on that when you realize how still everything is.
No wind seems to pass and no sound can be heard.
Whatever's going on, it can't be normal for the Digital World either, can it?
[[OOC: So here's how this will work! We will give you all a few rounds to prepare for going into the Dark Field. This includes roping off the Divers and making sure your groups are ready. For this we're going to need you guys to be a little speedy at first. Once we feel that everyone is ready, we will post of the individual group fight threads. The only difference this time is that we will be setting up a thread for the Divers.
The Digimon you will be fighting will also make their appearance! Please note it will take several hours after the Divers take their leave that the Digimon will appear. We will introduce these Digimon and explain the mechanics of their behavior, and will play them intermittently (Or we will try to! Bear with us if we miss a tag or two!)
Divers, unlike the last time, you will find that the tethers do not last very long. After about a half hour or so in the dark field, the ropes will disappear. Those on the outside will notice this too as the ropes you thought were secure suddenly are no longer there. On the 30th, the Divers will find a clue hinting that Masaru has found his way out of the dark field on his own, though you will not actually see him. It is then that you will be able to find your way out.
Please note for those reading the Divers thread, there is content involving at times graphic death, violence, and issues pertaining to eating disorders. Proceed with caution.
Good luck! If you have any questions please let us know. PM us, Plurk us, or email us. We should be around!]]

DIVERS
It is dangerous in there, so take this tether!]

The trek to the dark field was nerve wracking for Marley, more so than the ride to Server had been. Still, she didn't want to show just how nervous, how terrified she truly was. She kept her chin up, even though her hands still played with the loose string on her jacket sleeve, and hoped no one could tell. She wanted to prove just how strong she was, so at least showing how scared she was could NOT be an option. It did help that she kept close to Ed and Donatello. Knowing she wasn't going alone (partner excluded) helped quell her nerves, at least in some part. By the time they got to the dark field, she had already stopped playing with that damn string.
It wasn't like anything she had ever seen before. It was...amazing wasn't an appropriate word, she knew, but it was the only one she could come up with. Marley couldn't help but stare, mouth slightly agape, and it took Hawkmon touching her hand that she managed to gather her wits once more. Offering the bird Digimon a smile, albeit a nervous one, before she went about gathering up a couple of ropes: one for her, and one for Hawkmon.]
Come on, Hawkmon. We've got work to do...
Coming, Marley.

As they headed for the field, Donnie forced his emotions to calm, using the calming exercises that Splinter had taught him. He knew that this was gonna be hard, but he had to be calm. If he freaked out, he'd get killed or worst. He's survived against an army of alien robots, murderous ninjas, and oh course the evil Shredder back home. He would make it through this.
So now here he was, staring at the Digital Field. His scientific mind couldn't help but be fascinated by the beauty of it, he really did want to study and understand how it works. But he had a mission he had to do, it would have to wait. He was securing a rope around his waist, looking down at his partner doing the same.]
Y'know, we cna back out now. I mean... other peole can handle it. You don;t have to put ypurself through this.
[Sighs] I already agreed to this Kamemon, it's too alte to back out.
But this is dangerous! You saw what happened to Hiccup after this! If you end up like that, I... [Closes eyes and turns, trying to hide how scared for his partner he was.]
[Falls to his knees with a sigh and pats his partner on the head.] I know your worried about me, I'm not exactly calm either. But... no matter what happens, we're gonna be okay. As long as we're together, we'll get through this. o don't worry, okay?
Well... o-okay... [He still sounded nervous.]
no subject
Hahaha. No. No, Ed was pretty sure he wasn't the type to lead anyone into anything--if he was, it was by accident and not design. Instead, he tightened his hands around the bag of burgers he'd brought with him. Last time, he'd gotten hungry. This time, this time he wasn't going to make that mistake.
He remembered what it was like still. Some nights it was hard to sleep--those nights he hugged Guilmon and just sat there until he couldn't stay awake anymore. Still, that wasn't any reason to worry anyone! It definitely wasn't, and it definitely wasn't reason to stay out of it when someone else needed help, haha. And even besides that...
Everyone else needed his support too. He could be scared later! He could be sad later! He could hurt or feel pain later! Right now, in this moment...
Ed makes a fist, having tied his harness around himself. He nods to psyche himself up.]
All there is is to do it. So we're going to do it! Right Guilmon?
Right! [For her part, Guilmon seems rather hyped up, not having been in there long enough to worry last time.]
Guys... I'm not going to lie. The stuff you'll see in there will hurt, and it'll probably make you sad and remind you of stuff you don't want to think of. But just remember that Masaru's in there, and he's been having to deal with it too, and our friends are out here making sure we stay safe while we find him. And we will find him.
It'll work out, and it'll be okay. Definitely! Absolutely! One hundred percent! [By the end, he's trying to psyche himself up as much as anyone else.] We're going to go in there, we're going to save Masaru, and we're going to get out! No problem!
no subject
Just...try to get out a little sooner than last time. We dunno what'll come for us here. [Because something definitely will come for them. Last time taught them that.]

GROUP 1
That's about to change. Like the last time someone entered the Dark Zone, it begins to pulse, the numbers that are wrapping around its surface beginning to pull themselves in. It moves like a beating heart until nothing is left but a bright white light.]
NNNRRRRRRGH!
[And with this scream, the Digital Zone practically explodes. Everything that was sucked in comes out all at once and along with it four figures.
They are not Devimon this time; no, they are Myotismon, but they're not easily recognized. Their data is cracked and broken, capes ripped and frames seemingly falling apart. Each is worse than the last, but each also is much larger and more muscled than any normal Myotismon.
A Myotismon turns its attention to those in Group 1 and stops. Then, from its cape flies large bats, just as broken as the Digimon itself, which swarm toward the Chosen at their partners.]
[[OOC We will come in intermittently to play the Myotismon. Normally every other round of posting or so. The thing to keep in mind is human attacks will do virtually nothing.
Your Digivice will not get any reading on what the Digimon is!
Also keep in mind that you may think you have defeated your Myotismon, but they will not be defeated during the course of this thread. So if you want to throw in a few pretend victories be my guest!
If you have any questions just ask.]]
Re: GROUP 1
What are these things? Do you recognize them Biyomon?
No! I've never seen anything like them, but they're probably powerful!
[Oh. Hey. Bats. Well, okay then. Chika's orange digisoul flared across her entire body, and within moments, Biyomon was now Garudamon and moving to shield Chika and the others from the swarm of bats.]
no subject
Not much time to think about that right now though, not with the sudden appearance of the Myotismon. Hiccup and Fearless hadn't talked much since they got here, but now they only have to exchange a glance before the Gomamon jumps forward, just behind where Garudamon is standing.
In a flash of sudden light, Ikkakumon stands in Fearless' place, a low rumble issuing from his throat.]
Don't worry, we can take care of this guy- but you better put that brain of yours to work, Hic! Think'a somethin' to save those Divers!
[Easier said than done.]
no subject
Even if he hadn't been part of this particular formation before, he knows that the rope snapping is not a good thing, because it's the best way for the divers to come back.]
Rope, we need more rope. [Or something like it. It's a long shot, throwing more rope down into the hole, but he's not willing to jump in there himself, or let the others do it.]

NNNRRRRRRGH!

When one of the Myotismon spies those in Group 2, it doesn't wait; it withdraws a glowing red whip and lashes it at whoever is closest.]

hope it's okay with my group if i post first otherwise i'll edit/delete/etc
[That was her reaction when the tether finally snapped in front of her, watching her roommate and friend just disappear into the Dark Zone only minutes ago. Of course, she would worry, but Marley looked so determined that trying to talk her out of it seemed unlikely to have any effect.
And then, the pulsing begin to happen, number flying before a scream rings in her eyes and a white light blinds her until it fades. Her hands quickly cover her face while Dorumon did the same, who is always by her side and of course, would be nearby at times like this.
She is shaking a little, but she needs to be aware. Her mother trained her better, always telling her that everything won't be like a fairytale dream she hoped it would be. Yet here she is, no sword and her only chance to stay alive is with Dorumon, known as Baron. Her dear partner that she may came to disagreements and fights to, but she cares for him while he does the same.]
Elizabeth, move!
[Her hands are gone from her face, only to discover a giant demonic digimon cracking a whip towards her. Quick on his feet, Baron quickly pushed her out of the way with an headbutt towards her side. It may hurt a little and knocked her down, but the whip was dodged on her part. And her dress got dirty, which is the worse out of all it.
Elizabeth may be scared, but it's not the time to play nice. She quickly got back on her feet. She turns to her group, who are just close by and may have got effected by the surprise attack. This is her first real fight, but with the small training here and there, it's time for her and her partner to join the fray.]
Everyone, be careful!
Works for me! \o/
He'd watched the others leave, and the tethers go out. The tether suddenly snapping however made him blink. That can't be good. But he doesn't have long to think about it before everything goes to the pit. He recoils at the scream, and the numbers swirling about them, plus the blinding light. He shields his eyes with arm, Ryudamon doing the same.
But a millennia or more of war's taught him to never let your guard down in dangerous territory, and it didn't get much more dangerous than this. Even if he was now human, he still knew how to fight. Had been in countless battles. But the battle wasn't his, things worked differently here. A fact he was still getting used to. Dorumon's shout at Elizabeth has him quickly uncovering his face, in time to jump out of the way of the incoming whip.]
Everybody move!
[He shouts, and landed on his feet and one hand on the ground, sliding back some before he stops. He peers up at their attacker, and glances at Elizabeth at her yell. He gives her a thumbs up. Ryudamon lands not too far from him, determination in his eyes.]
What is this thing? [He gives his partner a questioning look, but just gets a confused look in return.]
It is a species I do not know.
no subject
Whoa, Gots!
[Gotsumon becomes Golemon, and he tries to grab and block the whip--
and ends up yelping and screaming as it burns his rock hands. He stumbles back, whining and unable to really get out an attack.]
Oh great-- guys, you gotta digivolve your partners, now!

The third Myotismon charges at Group 3 with a primal scream, swinging strong, glowing red punches at whatever target it can find.]
[[OOC We will come in intermittently to play the Myotismon. Normally every other round of posting or so. The thing to keep in mind is human attacks will do virtually nothing.

And when everything explodes, sending a blinding light everywhere, Wheeljack shields both he and his Gazimon from it, using his arm as a shield. However, he couldn't help but sneak a peek, eyes opening a crack as he looked towards the center of the implosion, watching the four figures come out.]
That can't be good.
[And boy was he right on that. They revealed themselves to be Myotismon, at least by bare classification. Not that Wheeljack would know that, so it was up to You to describe that. There was something different about them, though. They were...corrupted. Damaged. All in all not right.
And it showed in the way that they seemed to look at them. Those were not the faces of someone who wanted to play. But that was fine by him. He wouldn't mind skipping share time.
Wheeljack was a soldier. And a soldier only has one goal: to protect what's standing behind them. So when the Myotismon turns, snarling and screeching in their direction, he steps forward.]
Hey ugly.
Let's dance.
[You changes into her Sheepmon form, walking up next to him and patting at the ground with her hoof, like a bull ready to charge. A little trick she'd picked up from her new not-so-secret admirer, you could say.
The Myotismon seemed to be approaching at a rather rapid pace, obviously preferring fists over words.
Good. That was the way Wheeljack liked it. He swung his head back to the other two, giving a smirk. If you looked close enough, you could see those blue eyes practically glowing with excitement.]
Don't slow me down!
[Without another word, he and Sheepmon dash off into the battle...yes, Wheeljack's decided to get hands on in this, despite how useless that's going to be. He hated standing around.]
YEEEEHAAAA!!
no subject
Even if he had been something of an arms dealer in with all of the scientific research, he didn't think for a moment that the type of weapons he made would make a dent on those things. The one that charged at them made him freeze, Kokuwamon coming up beside him quickly.]
What... what the hell are those things?!
I don't know!
[As much as he looked like a capable weapon, Kokuwamon was a pacifist. He didn't like fighting, but he was also not the sort to let his partner get hurt. The electricity in his pronged head lit up as Flemming took an automatic step back, watching Wheeljack and his partner charge into battle with anxiety written all over his face.]
no subject
Crap.
[Noir however flew directly into the battle. Despite his small size he had the courage of a Mon three times as large.]
Bring it on you over dressed buttercup!
[His "harsh" insults turn into negative energy, blasting towards the stronger Mon's face and bouncing off with as much impact as a water balloon. Jinx did not look impressed.]

It flew up into the sky, the air distorting noticeably around it (likely due to its current corrupted state). With a sweep of its hand, a dark grey cloud filled with bat-like creatures soared down towards the third group, Digimon and Chosen in its path.]

NNNRRRRRRGH!

After a moment of pause, the fourth Myotismon snarls and tries to body slam the nearest target in Group 4, clearly a danger given its large size and muscled body.]
[[OOC We will come in intermittently to play the Myotismon. Normally every other round of posting or so. The thing to keep in mind is human attacks will do virtually nothing.

just tell me if this is ok guys
Which is what puts him and Impmon on edge when the digital zones start bursting with light. Leatherhead gets himself into defensive position, along with Impmon.]
That isn't good...
No...
[Not good is an exaggeration. The Myotismon appears, a giant out of nowhere. Leatherhead doesn't even have time to react as he gets body slammed into the ground by the digimon. Leatherhead seems to have a hard time getting the digimon off, squirming and growling.
Impmon skirts, to the side, snarling at the digimon.]
Hey! No one tackles him! BADA BOOM!
[Impmon hurls an attack at the digimon. Leatherhead may be a pain, but he's a pain NO ONE messes with.]
no subject
Sure enough, a few hours after waiting, Digimon erupted from the digital field. Kaldur wasn't going to waste time, not after what he had seen from the Devimon last time. This is only made worse by the digimon lunging and tackling Leatherhead.]
Gizamon!
Gizamon digivolve to...Seadramon!
[Gizamon sprang forward even as Kaldur's digivice glowed with white light. Her form shifted and elongated until Gizamon had turned into her Champion form. Seadramon's eyes blazed and she wasted no time in attacking, aiming for Myotismon's face.]
ICE BLAST
[Kaldur shouted.]
Impmon! If you can evolve, do it! This creature is too powerful.
no subject
This gets better and better!
[Hastily, BlackAgumon moves to shove him back.] No, it doesn't! Cut it out -
[She's not quite fast enough, though. Ed sprints up behind the Myotismon as Impmon attacks, hoping to tackle it while it's distracted -
- and in an instant is flicked away by the creature's massive claws almost casually enough to be an accident.]
Ed! [BlackAgumon hurries forward, but hesitates after a few steps, dwarfed by both the Myotismon's shadow and Seadramon's attack overhead.] Oh, geez, what do I do...?
no subject
The Digimon snarls loudly and staggers back somewhat, but there's barely any time to react before it attacks again. It suddenly withdraws something that looks like a glowing red whip out of absolutely nowhere, and without warning lashes out at the nearest Digimon nearby.]
