Hello Chosen Within the City

What: Invasion of the Digivolved Yokomon and Koromon
When: June 28-June 30
Where: All over Terminal Tokyo

Just as Ryou predicted it was only several hours later that the first wave of Yokomon and Koromon have made their appearance. Except...they're not Yokomon and Koromon anymore. It appears that they have all Digivolved into various types of Champion Digimon on the way over from Server. None of the various types of Champion seem to even blink if they're attacked. Their first and only objective seems to be to lay ruin to the city and everything in it. At first any attacks will be ignored, but if someone proceeds to continue and attack them, they will attack.

They're difficult to beat, regardless of level. These Digimon may need two people working together even at Champion level. Each Digimon are much more difficult to defeat solo than they would be normally. One thing should easily be certain before the first night is out-- if you want the city to survive then you're going to need to work together.]

[[OOC: So here's how this will work guys-- unless you need a Digimon for various reasons: playing out the first Digivolution, Dark Digivolutions, or a general battle they will be played by you. You may request a modded NPC as per usual, but depending on the number/duties you may be turned down (we'll do our best, though). Keep in mind your character will not have an easy win on their own and that humans will be virtually ineffective.

Most of the NPC Chosen will, unfortunately, have other things they're working on, but you may be able to see a couple helping to beat back the Digimon trying to destroy Terminal Tokyo again.

There's all sorts of Champion levels to fight so pick and choose: Cyclonemon, Bullmon, Golemon, Harpymon, as well as many others will appear in the city, so don't be afraid to bring in a different kind of Champion Digimon from the DMA.

Remember to mark your subject titles with date, time, and even type of Digimon you will be fighting!]]

[Neku's voice softens, though he does still sound very shocked and worried]

Cam, you could have died, we don't have any defense against their attacks!

[The crest drops from his fingers, to his chest, and he runs his free hand through his hair.]

I, I know. I know, but if I hadn't, she could've died! I tried to get us both out of the way, but I couldn't, so. So. [He sighs.] I had to do something.

[He's silent for a long moment, sitting down next to the bed and rubbing the back of his head]

...yeah. I understand. I can't really say I wouldn't have done the same thing.

...I'm sorry. I... Her partner went off to fight, but Maya and Lucette didn't want to leave her out on her own. We should've looked for someone else to go with us, but I didn't...think.

[Neku sits there, thinking. He's never been good at expressing his own feelings. How to tell what he means when... Cam took the only human option? Especially considering it was his girlfriend in danger? He's not MAD... but anger is easier to show.

The memory of Cam almost telling him something during the excursion he had led floats up as well. He has to be honest with his reasoning if he WANTS honesty, he supposes. His words come out in a tumble]

Look... a few years ago... a friend of mine got killed. [Not 'died', or 'was killed'. GOT killed, like he GOT milk from the store. Just something that happened]

He was... walking to met up with me somewhere and just.... wham, gone. Like... he just stopped existing. I was a wreck for along time after that. Blamed myself for a lot of things that weren't really anyone's fault. Stuff that was just shitty luck. HE didn't care if I blamed myself, or if people were sad when he was gone. He was dead.

I didn't see it at the time, cuz... well I was pretty in love with my own misery... but his parents, his sister... then were all in a bad way too. Just one kid dead and all these people fucked up in the aftermath. Do you get what I'm saying?

You... did the right thing, and I'm glad you're okay. Just... please be careful.

[From each word Neku spoke data began to appear above his head.

Plop. The blue emblem and tag fell into his spiky mess of a hairstyle.

[So caught up in his story, Neku doesn't notice the forming item until he feels a light shifting in his hair.

After fighting alongside Masaru his first thought: oh god spider. He starts swatting at his hair in a panic, making the charm get even more tangled in his now-overgrown spiky mop]

Ahhh, what the hell?! [Dramatic moment: ruined]

[The story sucks the air out of Cam's lungs. Especially when Neku gets to the end, especially there. Especially because.

Maybe it's the painkillers but something wells up inside of him, like an intense need to just say it to just let it out, a hot warm fire in his stomach and squeezing his heart.

That's it. Right then. He's convinced it's time, and Neku should be told.

...Except then the crest.] I-it's a crest.

[A slow smile slides across Cam's face, and he remembers his own.]

A what? [he finally grabs the charm and YANKS, the chain twinned around some copper colored hairs. ouch]

It looks like that necklace you got. [....he kinda assumed Maya gave it to him or something]

A crest. They're...both crests. I got mine after, um, well. [Small gesture to the cast.] Masaru showed up-- uh, the...other Masaru-- said it was the... Crest of Courage.

[A small humorless laugh.]

And...the Digimon told me about them, when I was more...lucid. They're supposed to represent our...strongest traits, or something like that. And give us the power to digivolve our partners past Champion.

Looks like yours is different than mine.

Courage, huh? Fits. [he smiles weakly, still drained from his story, before looking at his crest]

...my strongest trait is a stylized blue wingnut.

[Cam doesn't really think so in some cases, but he'll not push it. ...Always another time.

He laughs a little and holds his up again.] Hey, mine looks like a sun, it doesn't really...look like it should either.

These crest things, a lot of 'em look kinda weird. Maybe Terri'll tell you what it means.

[he feels like he should go back to the start of their conversation, but he's tired, and he's sure Cam is too. So instead he gestures to his cast]

No one's signed it yet?

[Cam glances at it. Last time he had a cast, he got all weird, in a new place, like what if everyone tried to sign it and he couldn't remember which signature went with which person? Or what if they kept asking about how he got it? Or what if...

So he never let anyone sign it, not even his friends.

But...] Not yet. Maya was a little...distracted. [AND THANKFULLY ASLEEP RIGHT NOW jeez maya.]

[he smiles and reaches into his pocket and pulls out some colored marker pens. A LOT of pens. Those baggy shorts have good pocket space. Neku arches a brow in question]

[He. Kinda. Well...

He nods.] Go ahead.

[It's a new world, after all, a new place. And a new him.]

[Neku gets comfy, because he doesn't just sign it, he creates on it. Leaving room for people to sign of course, bit otherwise filling the blank blue space with dynamic lines and color. The pins are good quality: only a little of the blue tint shows through]

[And Cam doesn't stop him. At all. He just sort of...stares, watches him go, watches whatever Neku's making with awe.]

[He doesn't make anything in particular, letting his mind wander as he draws. Though it's mostly abstract there's a vague theme of wings and arches. Something that could be Lucette if you were looking for it.]

[Cam looks it over, completely and entirely enthralled.]

That... This... Wow! Neku, this is amazing-- ow.

[While trying to look at everything he turned his arm and that was a bad idea. He lets it lay flat again.]

I think... yeah. Fighting isn't something that can last forever. And what's that quote, erm... 'Can love bloom on a battlefield?'
