[ Rin's the kind of gal that doesn't stray far from her "home" now that she has one. Not that she allows her roommate(s) to ever see her. Locked indoors in her room with a chair, she goes to extreme levels to remain a NEET. It isn't out of hate for those around her, but because Lunamon wishes to have more privacy along with Rin's desire to continue work on her D-Terminal undisturbed. However, this is one of those rare times that she's actually out and about! Sometimes her arms may be full of bags from one of the shops or with books from the library; either way, she can use a hand if there's anyone nearby willing. ]

        ( 2. City limits )
[ Throughout the week, Rin's hard at work with picking up stray documents found within the abandoned buildings. One might mistake this for cleaning up the litter, but for someone who's proficient in enough languages, this is what she uses to help decipher certain things. Plus, who knows what other clues she might find? Some of the buildings she enters alone though can't really be safe for a girl in shoes like that, right? ]

[ Part of her skill in dodging potential other Chosen is to be out at all sorts of hours. This is why she's perched up along the roof of one of the buildings across from a river to stare at Palette Town with a bored look. Something about the scene really seems unnerving; maybe she's used to sitting by herself on rooftops? That sort of thought is kind of silly to have, don't you think? ]

Jinx has made alot of adjustments since arriving in this city, but her sleep schedule is not one of them. Some nights she would lie awake unable to sleep as her muscles screamed for activity.

So with her partner tucked securely in a bag slung on her back the pink haired girl raced from rooftop to roof top letting the blood sing in her veins as adrenaline drove her through the night sky. Up one phone line, down another. Jinx wasn't even sure these lines were connected to anything inside the buildings they ran to but they made for excellent tightropes.

She liked the city much better now that the color had returned. And as the memories seemed to settle down finally she was allowed to leave her home without fear of the world getting yet another look inside her past.

It wasn't too odd to see a lone soul wandering the streets at night. There were so many nightmares and homesick Chosen and Digimon Jinx assumed insomnia was par for the course.

It was rare that she found one on the rooftops where she ran though. She slowed her pace to study the unfamiliar girl from a distance.

The golden haired girl doesn't make any indication that she sees her at first as she sit there with her legs over the side of the building. Most would be scared to be this close to the edge, but she sees no harm in it. Either she doesn't spook easy or she has a way to get out of danger should it present itself.

Rolling her head to the side at her slowed approach, Rin's smile is primarily what greets the other girl.

"Night owls? I didn't think those existed here."

She smirked back and light glinted off her hot pink eyes.

"Things may get sleepy around here, but where I come from all the best stuff happens in the dead of night."

She slowly and silently lit on the edge of the building and balanced expertly with the sure footed confidence of a cat.

"Where you come from?"

Rin asked with the intention of giving her the chance to explain. That would be the proper thing to do; listen through to anything she had to say about her world and learn more. For Rin, it could possibly keep her interested long enough to soak up more time.

"You do this often there too or is this place an exception?"

"My world, specifically my city. Jump City? Off the coast of California." She offered on the off chance there was such a place in this girls world. It's not like there was any reason to keep that a secret.

"Of course~" she smirked folding her arms and studying the girl "late night rooftop runs, maybe the occasional breaking and entering if I was in the mood. Then of course you've got night clubs and shady bars worth exploring for the contrast in atmosphere." While she didn't like the drinks as much in shady bars there was something beautiful in the ambiance and mellow that they provided.

"Yourself?"

Nothing like that. Clubs, bars, people in general were all things she strayed away from. Allowing anyone to get close would result in their capture, torture, and the inevitable death that came as a result of the two in an attempt to get under her skin.

"California exists though I'm not sure of the validity of a city called that." Rin explained casually without a second thought. It'd be alright to admit she's from Earth; she's yet to meet many who weren't. "Not that I was there more than once, but I may have traveled through the United States a bit. I can't honestly recall."

Jinx listened with curiosity glinting in her eyes and a smirk on her pale lips.

"Can't recall? Either it's been a long time or you've had something more pressing in your life to keep your attention." She reasoned.

"I traveled a lot." A honest answer.

"It was part of my job to do that. I guess being able to see that much of the world is one thing, but it might suck for someone who just wanted a home to settle down in. I'm not that kind of person so don't get me wrong that I brought it up, but I can see why it wouldn't appeal to others."

Jinx sighed wistfully, "I always wanted to do some traveling. Visit exotic new lands, explore the culture, steal their priceless art." She chuckled to herself. "But I put my career first and that kept me pretty localized. Most of my co-workers were too stupid or lazy to operate anywhere but California since it was what they knew."

"Got any particular favorite places you've been?"

"Why didn't you just take the initiative and drag them with you?"

Then again Rin has always been a person who did things her own way regardless of others. If traveling the world was something she wanted to do, the rest of the world was going to have to work along with her on that.

"Surely if you were persistent enough, they would have followed. As for a favorite place, who knows... It feels as if it's been forever."

She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly.

"It would have been more trouble then it was worth. Those goons wouldn't know culture or style if it fell out of the sky and put a hole in the ground." She could just imagine the chaos those morons would have caused in other countries.

"Frankly, they're an embarrassment. The more I think about it the better off I think I am. Too bad I had to learn that lesson here where I don't have my powers." And then silently she added,

"You think you are? So are you better off or are you not?"

Leave it to Rin to narrow in on a simple thing like that. If anything, she wanted to help her better understand if she was a solo player or if she needed her teammates to endure whatever this world threw at her. For Rin, she had always been alone, so she didn't need to rely on the comfort that others provided.

Others often in fact held her back.

"Everyone is usually embarrassed by their friends. It's because you care so much that it seriously pisses you off to let them behave that way."

Friends, could she still call them that?

"I'm gonna need more time to be sure. It's not like I've really put my thieving skills to the test since getting here."

Noir piped up from her backpack, reminding her he was there "Oh I don't know about that. You've done plenty of running and dodging. That sort of counts."

She rolled her eyes "you have no idea what I mean. Go back to sleep."

[Someone's coming back from an afternoon out too, and the sight of Rin out in the sunlight definitely catches her eye.]

[ Hmph. ] Is it really me being social? Sometimes the shops are only open at certain hours and as a result, I have to go shopping in the daytime.

[ Why can't Lunamon do it herself? ]

... Well, I've got it all. I'm good at doing things myself, so thanks.

But I can understand, independence is really great. I roughed it for a good year and a half, I'm familiar.

[ It didn't seem that way to her from what she rudely saw, but Rin's not exactly going to voice that out loud. See, she has manners sometimes. ]

Beautiful girls like us really have to be, huh? It must be tough to be blonde and stuck in a world where we don't have guys fawning over us. The Digimon aren't exactly interested in looks.

Well, uh. [She grins sheepish, shrugs.] I'm living by myself, over in one of the Crest Districts. But there's a guy doing the fawning...

[ That's right. They get to live alone if they get a Crest. Honestly, that should be the only reason Rin needs to pursue one, but she finds herself unable to force Lunamon to fight again. ]
