[OOC: Please, only one mission per Chosen so that others have a chance to take part as well! There is only one Dark Field Eliminator, and the groups will receive it. Do not break it. This will act as a mingle log. The missions are simple, so this is really an opportunity for you to log out CR if you'd like it. There really is no sign up for these. We just request that you do not go over the max number of participants, but you can certainly have under the number if everyone is alright with that. Remember, some of these will be taking place during the weather event, so if there's a day you want your character to be in the city for and it's a far away area, plan accordingly!  Enjoy!]

[ Squall picked Kudamon back up when he got closer and ended up swirling around his arm clinging to him that way. Squall started walking again and just looked forward. ]

... Since their partners aren't here... it's like they're orphans... And... someone needs to keep them safe. Someone needs to watch out for the eggs and the others...

[knightfan]

[ He's not surprised at all. He figured it would be something like that, but he didn't think Squall would actually admit it. Oh well. Seifer keeps silent, letting them talk. ]

[ Great. Nice that she was the one that made everything awkward and inspired silence between two previously animated people. ]

You know, I can always walk further behind again if its an issue. [ She rumbled, jaw muscles twitching witch clenched teeth. She would not blow up. She would not be angry. She would be fuckin' pleasant. ]

I don't wanna impose. Anyways you guys were obviously pretty busy. I was tryin'a stay outta the way.

[innermonologues]

Seifer's just getting upset because you hardly acknowledged him. He gets moody when he is ignored but instead of blowing up I guess he's decided to stay silent.

[ He rolls his shoulders a bit. ]

Staying back there will only be bothersome so just keep up with us.

[ He's not sure why he said that. he feels so tense and on the edge with her right there next to him, but thinking about her falling back behind so much bothered him even more. ]

[knightfan]

[ The glare toward Squall is immediate. Sure, Squall was right, but it didn't mean he had permission to go blabbing about it. ]

You know, dumbasses should really keep their mouths shut, Squall. Anyway, we have a mission to focus on.

[ He scowls, his grip on the Dark Field Eliminator a bit tighter than it was before. To Roze: ]

You've got field experience, right? Then it doesn't matter where you walk.

[ She shrugged and sighed, rolling her eyes and marching along in silence. She'd just go along. Follow orders, get the job done, go back, get paid, go to sleep for a week. Avoid everyone. Avoiding them was easier than just joking or shouting. ]

Sorry. [ She mumbled, arching a brow Seifer's way and ducking her head in apology. She meant it. She didn't really have more than two settings - of and on. Trying to find a mild in-between was proving more difficult than she'd thought it would. It wasn't her and she didn't like being anything other than herself. ]

[GUESS WHO'S SHOWING UP 5 HOURS LATE WITH STARBUCKS.

Literally. Well not literally, literally, but Neku does jog up from waaaay back with a bag full of drinks. If they're walking he wants to be prepared.

When he gets close he slows, brow arching, and even BlackGatomon sitting on his still droopy, flopy un-spiked head makes a low whistling sound]

Woooow, who died? You can cut the tension with a knife.

[ Squall just rolled his eyes at the comment Neku made. He wasn't expecting to see him here but seems like others just want to pile on to their little trip. He shoves his hands into his pockets and just continues forward.

The tension is mostly from this idiot here causing everyone else to have a bad mood. ]

We'll get there, figure out what to do with the device and then we'll be done.

[knightfan]

[ What, does Squall have some kind of homing device on him? Some kind of Squall Signal shining in the air that only Squall's friends can see? Dammit, he just wanted to do this alone. Oh well. At least he was the one holding the device. ]

Squall has apparently woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

[ Seifer shrugs, still frowning. ]

This all of this? I'm assuming they didn't want to send too big of a group in case something went wrong.

[ Not that he doubted the four of them could handle it. ]

I dunno. Wrong side of the bed seems awfully gracious. The world tends to be round. There's no sides. This is probably just his perpetual state of being.

[ She mumbled, Squall too far ahead to hear as she kicked a pebble irritably. ]

I didn't pay much attention to what it said on the roster, frankly. I knew the device was gone, so I figured someone was already on the way out here. If I caught up, great. Honestly I just wanted to see to the village. Like I said, biddy-digis seemed the most important.

[ She shrugged, leather jacket creaking softly with the movement, hands busying themselves tugging her dress down around her thighs. Bunching up a bit much, even for her taste in exposure. ]

[Neku frowns heavily. If it was any other group he'd just say 'well screw you too' and head back. But it isn't just any group.]

Four is usually how many they try to send. Just in case.

[he jogs ahead to match pace with Squall, talking half under his breath]

... you okay, man?

[innermonologues]

[He just continued walking while waiting for the others to catch up. It looks like Neku caught up to him though. Maybe he should slow up his walking. ]

'm fine.

( You know, as fine as you can be with a splitting headache, your rival purposely making you mad and feeling like your heart is going to explode. )

[knightfan]

[ Impmon hops up and dashes ahead so he's in everyone's view, shouting at the top of his voice as he waves his arms: ]

Come on, everyone! Let's turn those frowns upside down! I want everyone's face to match the smiley face on my torso!

[ Seifer groans audibly. ]

You're an embarrassment to Digimon everywhere, I swear.

I said smile!!

[ Roze smiled in spite of her mood, eyes rolling as she paced forward a bit and thumped Seifer with her shoulder, leaning against him slightly before weaving away. ]

You heard him, frowns upside down, Princess. Don't be so mean. The silly little bastard is right. We're a collection of ugly storm clouds right now. Fuck it. I'm not gonna let myself be a drag all day.

You shouldn't either! [ She grinned, hand snake-striking his side and grabbing above his hip in a vague tickling gesture. ]

We're supposed to be doin' heroic shit, so we gotta look the part!

[ Being quiet and glum wasn't improving anything so screw it. Squall could mope enough for three people. ]

[Neku narrows his eyes at Squall, not quite believing him. That slight wince around the eyes said a lot, and then with a flash of intuition he dug through his bag, holding up a water bottle to him.]

If you're hung over you need to hydrate.

[He turns back, snorting and rolling his eyes playfully at Roze and Impmon]

This isn't exactly heroic.

[innermonologues]

Whatever...

[ He takes the waterbottle though and uncaps it slowly so he can drink. His hangover was gone for the most part, but he was still tired and a certain Rival gave him a headache.

Oddly enough after hearing Impmon and Roze try and cheer up, it made him feel a little less tense.]

[knightfan]

[ Seifer stiffens considerably to hide the fact that that actually tickled a bit, since it's not exactly a desirable trait in soldiers. Impmon, while not appreciating being called "silly little bastard," takes it in stride anyway. ]

It is heroic. Sure, this place might be chock full of people wantin' to do it, but it's still potentially dangerous; we're headed for the Dark Field nearby, after all.

[ He twirls the Eliminator in his hands, his sour expression still hanging around. He'd already given Squall water before the hangover even kicked in. What a dumbass that he couldn't drink a few more bottles to stave it off. ]

See? Bossman Leader says its heroic, its fuckin' heroic. There's a bunch of little Biddy-Digi's outt here with a Dark Field loomin' nearby. They're probably scared and miserable all the time and this is important. If we can get rid of a Dark Field, that's a pretty big fuckin' deal. You naysayers can stuff it.

[ She sniffed, arching an imperious brow and nodding to Seifer as she walked along. When Kotemon quickened his pace to shuffle alongside her and reached for her hand, she didn't think anything of it, holding his reflexively.

Little glowing eyes squinted in warning at Seifer, though for what was the blonde's guess. He looked jealous. ]

Okay, point.

And knowing how baby Digimon like to run around I wouldn't be surprised if a few have fallen into one. Just please, *please* no one decide walking into one is a good idea? Okay?

[innermonologues]

...They need the most protection out of anyone here.

[ He glances back at them with a raised eyebrow. ]

Keep that up and Seifer might want to marry you.

[ He rolled his eyes and continued looking forward now. He just wanted to protect the baby digimon and go back home. He didn't ask for all of this socializing and bickering. ]

[knightfan]

[ If he weren't holding the Eliminator, he would have aimed a punch right at Squall's head. Luckily, even Seifer has enough maturity to know that not being careful with the device would endanger them. So, he reigns in his temper, choosing to ignore Squall's comment in order to focus on Neku's. Better that than trying to figure out Kotemon was thinking. ]

But we have this thing. If things turn sour, we can just turn it on and it'll dissipate, right? It ain't like havin' a peek is going to set off missiles. We should have a plan B anyway. Y'know, in case this thing doesn't actually work.

Nah. I'm not really marryin' material...[ She mumbled, unable to hide the color in her cheeks as she looked away and pretended the sky was particularly interesting. Kotemon only looked at Seifer with even deeper scrutiny.

Roze puckered her lips, making bubble popping sounds for a minute before arching a brow and turning with interest to Seifer's words. ]

Huh. I didn't even think about that. I mean the kid seemed pretty fuckin' sure it would work, but if it doesn't, what then? I know I ain't got any kinda skill with the gizmos around here. I'm lucky I can figure my terminal most mornings. And when if there's something out there causin' trouble right now?

You think we should come up with some kinda game-plan? [ She asked Seifer, deferring to him because Squall seemed so unbearably anti-social she was beginning to think addressing him directly might make him snap like a dry rubber-band. ]

[scratchitti]

Well, if the gizmo destroys data, I wouldn't wanna accidentally kill any babies who might be in there even if it DOES work.

[he ponders]

I know Kudamon hasn't evolved, and I think Kotemon can reach Champion, right? What about Impmon?

[innermonologues]

Just because he can't digivolve doesn't mean he isn't strong.

[ Squall's buttons are being pressed all over the place here. Normally little comments like that didn't bother him, but now he was feeling like he was a burden on this mission and that really got to him. ]

Squall....

[knightfan]

Don't you worry about Impmon. And goddamn, Squall. No one said anything about bein' strong or weak so stop getting defensive.

[ Seifer shrugged his shoulders. His tone of voice made it clear Impmon couldn't digivolve, but the imp waved his arms around. ]

I can digivolve! Just you wait! When danger comes, I'll protect you all!

Tch. More like you'll run away with your tail between your legs. Anyway, we should at least pop our heads in to see the situation. Just one of us'll do; that person can relay the information back to the others. If it's clear, we switch the thing on. If there's digimon trapped in there who aren't psychotic, we drag 'em out and then turn it on.
