Who: Maya, Cam, and the rest of ya'll.
What: A BIRTHDAY PARTY EXTRAVAGANZA okay no it's not an extravaganza, it's actually just a party for Cam's birthday.
When: December 5th.
Where: Cafeteria area.


At ridiculous o'clock on the morning of December 5th, Maya enlisted Hyokomon and Strabimon to help her tape invitations on anyone and everyone's door. All of the invitations were hand-written, although they seemed to be in three or four different handwritings, and they all said exactly the same thing:

YOU'RE INVITED TO CAM'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
TODAY AT 1PM IN THE CAFETERIA

In retrospect, there were definitely easier ways of inviting the whole city to a party but Maya didn't care. This way meant that only dedicated people would show up to the party. Maybe. That was Maya's hope, anyway. She didn't usually mind being around people, but the fact that she was performing a song she'd written for Cam was kind of. Embarrassing. She'd done it before, at Battle of the Bands, but that had been decidedly less personal than "Jersey Boy." As in "the song she never showed to anyone."

Most of the party preparations had been handled by Neku, because funnily enough freshman band geeks don't plan that many parties, and Maya was eternally grateful to him for it. Mostly because she'd been working nonstop on the stupid song and there wouldn't be much of a party if she'd had to plan it. If her plan failed miserably, then at least there was food. And probably the people here were less gossipy than the kids at Degrassi, so the whole city wouldn't know she'd made a fool of herself.

A girl could hope, right?

If he had been almost slighted in that offer of food, Nes didn't really mind. He eagerly chomped down on it, looking up at the conversation; Sylvia shared a sweet smile with Choco and ate hers a little more... cleanly.

"It was a song specially written for the birthday guy. I offered to help and we worked out a harmonica part."

Choco smiled, somewhat shyly but happily as he ate with them.

Fluttershy smiled. "It was vey nice...and you played really well."

Floramon tilted her head. "Can I see it? Your harmonica?"

Chris glanced at Fluttershy and smiled. "Thank you."

At Floramon's request he removed the case from his pocket and popped it open, bending down and handing her the instrument. "Here ya go. Be careful with it." He chuckled a little. "Don't know when I'll need it again."

Floramon held the harmonica up, looking at it curiously. "So you blow into it, right? That's how you play it?"

"That's the basics of it, yeah." He smiled at the Floramon.

Floramon looks at the harmonica again, but just as she's about to blow into it Fluttershy puts her hand on it, keeping it away from the Flower Digimon's mouth.

"Y-You...probably shouldn't..."

[beingthecreature]

Chris laughed, tapping the harmonica with one finger.

"It's generally not a good idea to share these, no. But, tell ya what. I'll see if I can find one in the shops for ya, once everything's up and runnin' again. Sound good?"

"Oh yeah? That'd be pretty cool. Think you could teach me how to play it?"

[beingthecreature]

"Sure! I can give it my best shot."

[strengthinkindness]

"Cool. Maybe you can get another harmonica thingy for Fluttershy too."

Fluttershy blushes slightly. "O-Oh no, I...I don't usually play any instrument..."

"That's because she's a really good singer!" Choco couldn't help but pipe up.
