Who: Maya, Cam, and the rest of ya'll.
What: A BIRTHDAY PARTY EXTRAVAGANZA okay no it's not an extravaganza, it's actually just a party for Cam's birthday.
When: December 5th.
Where: Cafeteria area.


At ridiculous o'clock on the morning of December 5th, Maya enlisted Hyokomon and Strabimon to help her tape invitations on anyone and everyone's door. All of the invitations were hand-written, although they seemed to be in three or four different handwritings, and they all said exactly the same thing:

YOU'RE INVITED TO CAM'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
TODAY AT 1PM IN THE CAFETERIA

In retrospect, there were definitely easier ways of inviting the whole city to a party but Maya didn't care. This way meant that only dedicated people would show up to the party. Maybe. That was Maya's hope, anyway. She didn't usually mind being around people, but the fact that she was performing a song she'd written for Cam was kind of. Embarrassing. She'd done it before, at Battle of the Bands, but that had been decidedly less personal than "Jersey Boy." As in "the song she never showed to anyone."

Most of the party preparations had been handled by Neku, because funnily enough freshman band geeks don't plan that many parties, and Maya was eternally grateful to him for it. Mostly because she'd been working nonstop on the stupid song and there wouldn't be much of a party if she'd had to plan it. If her plan failed miserably, then at least there was food. And probably the people here were less gossipy than the kids at Degrassi, so the whole city wouldn't know she'd made a fool of herself.

A girl could hope, right?

Because honestly it is just too cool, Cam flips the hood up with a tiny grin. Seriously cool. He rolls his eyes at the suggestion, however.

"I'll stick to walking for now. And skating. And hey, I can ride Lucette fine."

Misha gave a thumbs up for the hood. It looks good. Bit doofy, but in the fun way that she was pretty sure no one in Terminal Tokyo could begrudge. They were all in a seriously doofy situation if one thought about it too hard.

"Oh yeah?" she asked. "What's she digivolve into? Something cool?"

Doofy Cam can do. Doofy is sort of his MO, to be frank. Since he's talking about his partner, he straightens his back, all proud.

"Some kinda lion-dog, big enough for me to ride on. 'nd then up to a hellhound, with three heads," he brags. "She's seriously cool."

"A cerberus?" Misha asked with an impressed whistle. "Damn, and I can only get Thelma to go up to a gigantic raptor. Lucette goes even further than all that?"

"Yuh-huh." Cam holds up the Crest of Courage around his neck. "It's 'cause of this thing. It's pretty handy."

He might sound a little bit cocky.

Misha knelt down, hands on her thighs and leaning in to get a better look at it. It was the first time she had seen a crest in person, and this particular design was something new to her. Very interesting.

"That's a crest, right? Those things just sound more and more handy as I hear about them," she said.

He puffs out his chest a little. After all these months, finally, he's accepted that this crest really is for him.

"Yep. Got it back when they first started appearing in...June."

"That's around when I left," Misha noted with a tilt of her head. "Guess I just barely missed my chance here, huh? Damn."

"Well, hey," Cam says with a light smile. "Did'ja see the main event? People're still getting crests, maybe you'll get yours pretty soon."
